Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
Thanks man, looks good. ERA seems a little low though, from top to bottom in the league it's 2.90 to 5.69. That scares me a little bit. The average is a little high as well, but it seems to be coming down as your season is moving along.Last edited by highheatkingsb; 05-09-2007, 09:11 PM.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
Tried your sliders last night it was a very frustrating loss (like the real team has been having lately) Lost 3 - 1 to the Nationals.. Overall a well played game. Seemed like I had a power outage. Several warning track shots, one from Dunn, Jr, and Phillips... And their Starter threw a complete game. Guess I need to give them a few more games, and work the count more.Comment

Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
Yeah the ERA and AVG and the 2 stats that stick out the most. The ERA I think its because I use Meter pitching and thats why its so good, whereas if I were to use classic pitching im sure it would be alot worse. And for the AVG its slowly going down I believe, I went on a 7 game win streak in the middle of April so that may contribute to it.Comment

Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
I've been using the sliders for a few games and I also think the pitching is a bit overpowered. I'm playing as the Rangers and my team ERA is about 3.00 when it should be around 5. My team batting average is about .230. Part of my batting problem is I'm using the default pitch speeds of 10 instead of 4. To compensate I think I need to bump up the contact sliders from 0 to 7 or 8.Last edited by Sigma4Life; 05-10-2007, 12:26 PM.Fantasy football fans... Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
Thanks for your thoughts! I think to compensate for the high ERA I will begin to use classic pitching instead of meter pitching (even though I said earlier I disliked using classic pitching), surely that should bring down the high ERA...also for a few games I will turn Guess Pitch off, I think im doing well enough since my original post that I can still hit well without the guess pitch which would compensate for the high AVG. Ill post updated stats once I get through with my second month...LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
I played my first game with a variation of the sliders (contact was at 4 instead of 0, pitch speed at 8 instead of 4) in my Rockies franchise against the Braves. It was my ace (Aaron Cook) versus their fifth starter (Lance Cormier).
Aaron Cook: 6IP, 9H, 2BB, 4SO, 5ER, 2 HR, 96 pitches
Absolutely awesome. It was a really good challenge pitching AND I STRUCK OUT 4 BATTERS! I've been messing around with the sliders and have been able to strike out no one. The 2nd HR I gave up was a 2-run shot to Franceur which was a hanging sinker... I deserved it.
Lance Cormier: 6 2/3 IP, 11 Hits, 2 BB, 4 ER, 2 HR allowed, 94 pitches
Again pretty realistic, however all of my hits in this game (I ended with 4 runs on 14 hits) were either singles (11) or HR's (3).
Some adjustments I plan on making for my next game:
Move pitch speed down.... Cormier's fastball wasn't too too bad (one of my HR's was an opposite field shot that barely cleared the pole, so I swung late), but Yates and Wickman's fastball was unhittable. Probably will go down to 6 and see what happens.
Mostly I need to swing less, heh..... I get antsy up at the plate... I would like to see more doubles, but I plan on giving this slider set-up about a 10-game try to see how it works..... I may hit 5 doubles next game, who knows.
Overall was really pleased, especially with the pitch count/walk/strikeout ratio.
I have API on, Guess Pitch OFF, Vibration Off, Pitch Cursor fade, strike zone on, hot zones off.
I think this may be my set up for quite some time once I turn the pitch speed down....
What effect would it have if I moved the contact bars down to zero as suggested?
Thanks for the sliders, they seem to be pretty good.Comment

Re: Edwy's AllStar Sliders
Turn all pitching and hitting aides off and see how you play. Currently I have all pitching aides off including strike zone as well as all hitting aides. Cardinals and I (Reds) are battling it out for the NL Central sitting at 25-15.Comment

P.S. Classic pitching was definetley a bad idea lol, ill be experimenting more with the sliders.Comment
