I tried earlier to play a few games with my RTTS on Rookie and it was actually worse that Veteran. I am kind of stuck in a grey area I guess in between the two. On Rookie it seemed too simple, not easy, but too basic. I wasn't hitting a lot there either but I was swinging too early. On Veteran I mostly swing too late when I miss.

Although it puzzles me that on Veteran I can guess the loc and the pitch type right, get the crosshairs and still pop to 2nd. WTF!

Turn on the swing analysis and look at it. It will show the pci yellow circl there locked in on the bal(usually never square one it), and it tells you how much contacts you got on the ball, as well as your timing.

As for the power thing, I hit 2 solo HR in my first game with these. Ryan Braun (off Harang) and Rickie Weeks. (off Lincoln)

Your welcome! Ya, I dont see how ppl aren't hitting HRs, I mean it's not easy thats for sure, but I'm getting realistic HR #s I think. I'll keep testing and pay attention to it more , maybe it needs to be bumped up to 7 for HUM power, but not jumpin the gun just yet.

I hit 6 HRs today with the Reds against the Cardinals. Everyone just has to have patience at the plate. I didn't start getting to Carpenter until the 4th and then again in the 6th. He eventually started to get tired and lose confidence and then the flood gates opened. LaRussa left him in way too long and I locked into a zone and it felt like batting practice.

Once you start getting the pitcher rattled, MAKE THEM THROW STRIKES. The pitching is no different than when we, as a user, start to lose control. The cpu will start to lose control and has to go to the fastball. Once the fastball comes, tee off on it.

BTW, liking these so far. Only played a few games but so far so good.

            Re: Trinitys Veteran Slider Set!!

            Just finished a good game.

I was Tampa (Price) on road versus Boston (Buchholz).

            Won 4-2

            Price: 6.1 IP 3 Hits 0 Run 4 BB 5 K
            Balfour: .2 IP 1 Hit 0 Run 1 BB 0 K
            Howell: 1 IP 1 Hit 1 Run 1 BB 1 K
            Soriano: 1 IP 1 Hit 1 Run 1 BB 0 K

            Finished with 9 hits.

            2B: Crawford, Zobrist, Navarro
            3B: Zobrist
            HR: Longoria, Upton

Scored all four of my runs in the first inning against Buchholz. Buchholz finished with 4 ER, 8 Hits, 0 BB and 4 K in 4.1 IP.

Then Boston brought in Wakefield and I couldn't do a thing. I had one hit and 7 strikeouts the rest of the way. (Couldn't hit this guy in 09 either...)

I had a pretty dominant performance with Price but it didn't "feel" dominating, if that makes sense. Worked out of a couple of jams and tight spots which made it very rewarding. I wasn't mowing people down.

Had the same trouble last year with the relief pitching in that it's always a struggle for me to stay in the game once I goto the pen. The talent drop off is noticeable and mistakes are capitalized on.

For those having trouble hitting for power, one thing I do that has helped me is I enter every at bat with a specific pitch and pitch location in mind. Usually a fastball. Then I try to work the pitcher til I get that pitch. Only time I swing is if it's the exact pitch I want or I have to to stay alive. I almost always take the first pitch too, unless its a meatball.

I have retired my first RTTS player because I kept changing all the settings during my season, which messed up my timing and results. I am going with these Settings and will post results soon. I am using Rookie atm until I get called up to AAA then I will go with Veteran to add the extra element of Guess Pitch Location. With Rookie you can only guess the pitch type.

I always guess fastball, up and inside. I don't swing unless it is that pitch or I have two strikes. I get more walks this way. But I still can't hit HR's. 8 games now and not even hit one to the warning track. I can hit them on All-Star though. I don't get it. I have the HUM power at 7 right now for the past 3 games.

I was playing against Joe Saunders and the Angels and won 7-5. Cano hit a 3-run bomb to right-center field and Tex hit a HR out to center. The Angels also had two HRs, Rivera and their 3rd baseman, whoever that is. Should probably remember his name before the next game, so I don't pitch him that juicy cutter again.

Saunders (92 pitches) was pulled in the 5th after giving up 7 runs, I pulled Pettitte (89 pitches) in the 6th after giving up four runs.

Other than my amazing 9-run 9th inning comeback against Boston in the season opener, this was probably my most intriguing game.
That would be Brandon Wood, hopefully he does that in real life cause he is more than capable of hitting 30 bombs, trust me.

For location I usually guess up and away or down and away. It's just where I feel comfortable looking for a pitch and not sure if it'll help. I only use power swing when I'm completely zeroed in on pitch and location. Even then I've had my share of weak grounders and foul balls when in my head I know I should have hammered the ball. It's about timing. If your having no problem hitting HR on All-star maybe the Pitch speed at 0 is too slow for you and it's throwing off your natural timing? Have you tried playing against lesser pitching or are you always facing the other team's ace?

Veteran level is all about timing my friend. Turn on swing analysis and look at ur timing, then turn pitch speed to wherever u need it to be. IMO, vet is the best level for anyone, cuz everything is adjustable, and the game plays more realistic. I don't have problems hitting HRs, and I NEVER hit the power swing button, always just press x to swing.

I can about gaurantee that the ppl that play on Legend would struggle with these sliders on Veteran level. And play without moving the left analof like I do.

30+ homers and a .230 average. Lol. Jk. I think he will be good. Always put up great numbers in AAA but hasn't figured out The Show yet. He will.

I never hit power button anymore. I have played against teams 1-5 starters. I put power up to 8 and CPU up to 7. I just won 3-1. Finally hit one out. Beltre to left in Target Field against Slowey. Had 5 hits. Only extra base was that homer. I'm gonna play about 10 with it 8 and see if I hit too many homers/doubles. I look at swing info after every swing (except the ones to end an inning, obviously). I have pitch speed to 0 because my eyes are slow and I need all the time in the world to determine balls and strikes. 0 really helps my BB numbers. I got 3 BB's in this last game. And by the way, I suck with Papi. I am batting .043 with him on the year so far. He is about to get benched for a couple of games for Lowell.
