i have a hard time pitching with meter. throw way to many meatballs. ill try classic pitching. i had to turn down the cpu timing to like 2! just so they would blast home runs and doubles and what not.

as for hitting, i couldnt hit at all on the default 5 for timing so i tweaked it up to 7 and i hit for 16 hits 2 HR and 10 runs. but down to 6, i only get like 3 hits. lol i dont know how to make a medium with that! everything thing else is at default (as for hitting). any ideas?

Been using these sliders for 7 games, so there's not enough "data/stats" to gather yet, but a few things I notice and am wondering about ...

[1] All of the hits seems to be one of the three (A) Liner down the line, (2) grounder up the middle, (3) home run. This is for both teams.
[2] Everything is a "laser". All the grounders are one-hoppers, all the fly outs are liners. It's like nothing is "soft" enough to fall in for OF single or float to the gaps. Everything is (seemingly) "tagged" ... especially all the foul balls.
[3] Strike % is too high for both teams, I am certain of that already.

Also, Brandon Wood is the "classic 4A player" ... a monster in the hitter-friendly PCL and a kitty in MLB where pitchers throw big boys breaking pitches. Like Wood, but he can't hit in MLB.

I can agree with u there...Gonna try lowering the solid hits like alot of ppl are saying and doing to get hit variety....Strike % is around 62-65% for me so dunno about it being too high.

Lowere solid hits to ZERO, and wow I can definately tell a difference. the ball is hit alot softer more often which is nice. It still is hit hard when u make solid contact with good timing so dont worry. But hit variety I can tell will be better already. Good job to those that found this, and thanks!

Yeah, I lowered both sliders to zero the second I played with your sliders and I could tell the difference it made. I've lost hitters on high choppers, lasers down the line, shots in the "5-hole", over OF's heads, very good hit variety.

I'm loving veteran level as classic pitching while still erratic at times is much more manageable than on all-star where i'd be all over the place.

Ya, like I said...I can about gaurantee anyone that plays with classic pitching, and guess pitch 1/4 on vet with these sliders will have trouble. Regardless if they play on legend or HOF, or whatever...This game is just not easy

What do u mean by lowering both sliders, I thought there was just the solid hit slider that needed to be lowered?

lol yeah he will probably be like Troy Glaus, a lot of homers, K's and low average but he is better at defense. Oh yeah and good sliders Trinity, these look a lot like my adjustments I made and I tried these last night and had a good couple of games

Thank you so much Trinity. I finally have the perfect sliders for me (I think, lol). HUM power at 8, CPU power at 7 for me is great. I wasn't giving up HR's to the CPU at 5 or 6. And solid hits at 0 made such an improvement.

I just played a nail biter against Minny. Won 6-5 in 12 innings. Ironic that Bonser got the win for the Sox in Minnesota. I jumped to a 5 run lead in the first. Minny got one back in the 5th on a solo blast by Cuddyer off of Lester. I gave up 4 in the 8th. I was giving VMart a day off but had to put him in in the 12th for Varitek and he promptly hit a screamer down the right field line for a double. 2 outs later, up steps Scutaro. He hit a slow roller to Hardy at short. Hardy had to rush the throw and threw it over Morneau's head into the dugout and VMart came in and scored. Delcarmen came in and closed out the game (as I already used Paps to stop the bleeding in the 8th and 9th).

Great times.

Changed slider quite a bit. Basically went to what I had last year for HUM batting sliders. I really am liking the results. Saw two hits that I haven't seen before in the game

It may look a little silly, but it's what I used last year and it was great! Try it out if u want, if not no big deal

Hit my first HR without using the power swing today, with Tex. Low inside fastball from Ervin Santana found its way in the right field seats.

I also switched to classic pitching from meter and while it was erratic at times it was refreshing. The Angels scattered 9 hits but could only plate one and I won 3-1. I think they were batting .137 with RISP....Pitching was MUCH harder but I still managed to K five guys with Javier Vazquez.

Santana struck me out 9 times...I just can't seem to generate walks even in 3-0 counts they seem to come back and make perfect pitches...I make them throw me two strikes when I get into a 3-0 count too.
