Hey Titus,
Nice to see you posting....Thread kind of went dead for awhile, ey???
Anyway, here's my situation:
I've been using your sliders RELIGIOUSLY since I converted over to The Show from the "other" game. I enjoy them not only for the challenge, but also for the variety. I took forever to start my Dodgers franchise, because I decided to edit all the rosters and stadiums to have the correct music, but now I'm 17 games into my season, and this is my report.
1) The first week went just "okay". I won both of my series against the Bucs and Fish, taking 2 out of 3 in each. The games were close with scores ranging from nail-biters to shootouts. I came home to L.A., and ended up dropping 2 out of 3 to the D-Backs, only managing to salvage the last game of the series. I go into San Franciso, and get whooped by the Giants 9-4 in the first game of that series.
Here's where things take a massive turn for the.....better???
Since the first game of the Giants series, I have gone 7-1 in my past eight games (Giants, Reds, Nats), with the lone loss coming in game 2 of the Cincinnati series. Normally, that would make me super happy, considering that I had absolutely no consistency playing this game at all since I bought it. It seemed like I would always have one inning that would curse me, and cause me to lose. But in these last 8 games, I've been putting a hurting on the opposition.
Before this stretch, my stats were not pretty. I was ranked 20th in BA with like a .225. I was ranked in the middle of the pack with an ERA of about 4.5. Now, it's a complete and utter turnaround. Since losing the first game of the Giants series, I have lowered my ERA to 3.20 which ranks 3rd in the MLB, and I've raised my batting average to .292 which is 4th in the MLB. Before this winning streak, the only guy that was really doing damage was Matt Kemp. He's been my most consistent hitter the entire year, and he currently is hitting .333, with 5 HR and 15 RBI. Not bad for the #2 hitter with 17 games played. At that time, most of my hitters were hitting between .240 to .275, with Furcal and Blake both hitting well under .200. Since that time, all of my position players are now hitting over .300 with the exception of Furcal (hitting. 197 which is still a massive improvement)!!! Remember how I said Casey Blake was hitting .150 8 games ago??? He's now hitting .350, which is tops on the club (tied with James Loney).
What's even more concerning is how EVERY, SINGLE PITCHER on my staff has an ERA under 3 except for Troncoso (4.76), Belisario (6.48), and Kuroda (5.59). That leaves 9 other pitchers under 3.
I don't know what to think about all of this. Am I just having a good stretch? Is it because I haven't been facing better teams?
I guess what I'm really trying to say is: WHAT THE EFF???

Any thoughts???
