Look at all these other guys sliders that boast this and that there all the same with everyone complaining and tweaking about the same thing but with Titus' no ego or Bs and just look how different they are .
His sliders two years in a row saved this game for me by making Vet level tougher and if I can help anyone else Its the least I can do .
I mean if My offense gets to good i lower contact 1 and if cpu offense is too weak i raise it 1 .
Hey hows your Rockies Fran doing Titus ?.

    Hey Devils ,
If you want excellent infomation based on real facts try Phoenix thread as he does a great job of breaking each one down .

Had a game last night against the O's as my Yanks (of course) and it was a frustrating but realistic game.

I was cruising with Pettitte through 6 innings giving up only 3 hits and no runs. Then the floodgates opened up. Top of 7, I was up 3-0, bottom of six I was down 8-3. Pettitte nor CHoP could contain the bleeding. Bottom 7, I put together a nice rally and come within one run, 8-7 going into the 8th. The O's explode again putting up another four spot on the scoreboard. Again I put together a rally in the bottom of the nine but come up short 12-10.

Excellent game, because here I thought I was going to overpower an opponent again and they just decided, THAT'S NOT HAPPENIN'!!!! I was able to put together rallies which made me feel better, I actually left the bases loaded in the 7th. So I had plenty of chances but couldn't capitalize.

Wow what a great game and you didnt feel cheated did you ?
To me thats the most important thing in enjoying this game and feeling like what I do skill wise really matters .
I just played a playoff game LAD at Philly and I won 6-0 Billingsley over Halladay .
I really couldnt touch roy but I got his pitch count up and they yanked him in the 7th down 2-0 and then I touched their bullpen .
Either blasted one to RF thats still coming down but Manny in the same game had 3 Ks and Werth made two great web gems but in the same game Ibanez made a mis judged fly ball error , looked great , natural and Polanco made a huge throw error .
Sorry to gush but I never enjoyed a set of sliders like these in any game .

Sometimes I feel a little cheated, I just dropped 3 straight to the O's at home. Hit .302 against them but had a 6+ ERA...

                Hi guys,

I also play classic pitching, auto baserunning and auto fielding...

I was batting on Vet and pitching on AS, but I'm frustrated with how many times I K or popout with RISP on O and how many 2 out rally's the CPU gets against me and how it 'adapts' to anything my pitchers do when mixing up speed and location...

                So...

I'm looking forward to trying this set, but have to ask:

How is the Human strike / ball percentage with control set at 1?

Seems like it would be really hard to throw strikes or locate with that low a number...

                Thoughts?

                Thanks!

Yeah, like I said in my first post in this thread these sliders don't really look like they would work, but they do.

Before these sliders I never threw a breaking pitch with any confidence, back door sliders didn't exist. Any breaking ball was set target and hope the ball would stay somewhere in the park

To answer your question I have no problem hitting 60% plus using the Cubs and classic pitching. I can also nibble the corners with good pitchers with a reasonable expectation of success.

We all have different abilities so these may or may not work for you. For me they saved this years Show. Certainly worth trying.

Also resist the temptation to "fix" what you think won't work until after you have played at least 20-25 games. I've currently played 17 with the Cubs standing 9-8. My hitting has been a little on the "too good" side and I may make a tweak but I plan on waiting 'til at least the 30th game. I could just be experiencing real baseball with the inevitable slump still to come.

Dead on Sweed , great post and yes play tons of games as they go full circle and whos pitching also counts alot !

PS : Titus I normally dont suggest this but maybe you should raise Jimenz colo p attributes a bit ? as the guys have having a amazing year .
I have no issue with stats whatsoever also and yours seem very realistic keep um coming .

                        Re: Titus' Veteran Slider Set

I've been making adjustments on all-star quite a bit lately so I decided to give veteran a try last night. I know you should never test a franchise set with the New York Yankees, but I figured what the hell...and honestly, my first two games of the season were a blast.

I know this is premature only two games in, but I'd like some input in a few departments. But first, the good.

(Dorismary suggested lowering user contact 1 for no guess pitch and raising cpu contact 1 so thats what I did...pitch spd 5)

Cpu and user walks were great. Ten each.

I hit two homers and four doubles. The cpu hit three doubles and a hr.

I won game one 7-3 and lost game two 3-2 (in exciting fashion)

Strike percentage for both teams never got above 61%

User hits 19 Cpu hits 13 (maybe a little low for boston, but it is only two games)

                        Nice work guys.

I'd like to know if anyone has had to make any slider changes. (Anything at all) The one thing that really jumped out at me was the cpu miss to foul ratio. In game one, the cpu missed 21 times and only fouled off 16. I definately don't want to raise cpu contact, but fouls should outweigh misses by nearly 2:1. i.e. 11 misses and 26 fouls, not the other way around. Has anyone else noticed this or was this just a two game fluke? User misses weren't nearly as bad, but fouls should be bumped there as well.

Thanks for letting make this long post, but if anyone on vet has needed to adjust anything (like increasing cpu hits or decreasing user hits for example), I'd like to see it so I can make the tweaks mid season if the stats tell me I need to.

Again, good work guys! So far, I'm impressed.

                          Interesting...

I was also wondering about the zero for fouls, b/c as you described, the percentages are off in the games you played...

Wouldn't the lack of fouls also affect pitch counts?

I was also wondering about the zero for fouls, b/c as you described, the percentages are off in the games you played...

Wouldn't the lack of fouls also affect pitch counts?

Interesting what u guys are finding...I've honestly never really looked at the amount of foul balls versus misses. I lowered fouls to zero to help with pitch counts, and raise my strikeout totals because I thought they were low... Keep going with the feedback guys, I mean the set on the first page is pretty well "perfect" for myself.

Of course eveyone has their own levels, but Veteran gives you the more lee-way to tweak around to get it to your own liking. Dorismary has made some great suggestions on what to tweak depending on what you are seeing(which do only so after at least 25-30gms imo). Glad you all are seeming to like these, as I spent alot of time foolin around with them! Continue to ENJOY!!

                              Hey Titus,

First of all, I want to give you props on your sliders. I'm newly converted to The Show from the "other" game, and now I realize why The Show has received such high reviews over the years. Simply put, it's one of the best video game representations of a sport that I've ever played.

With that being said, I'm still in the "adjustment" stages of playing this game. I've played about 15 games with your sliders, and my record is 5-10. Definitely not where I want to be, but I'm having a blast playing. Just like Dorismary has been saying throughout the thread, you don't ever feel "cheated" with these sliders. I played on All-Star for a couple of games, and it's way out of my league.

I wanted to get some feedback from you (or anybody for that matter) about your sliders. I'm pretty much have everything set as you have on the first page, with the exceptions being I have fielding set to "Manual" and I prefer Meter Pitching. My question is regarding the Classic vs. Meter Pitching. I haven't really given Classic pitching a shot, because to me, it was just a matter of placing the ball where you want and hitting the corresponding button. Seemed a little on the "easy"/boring side, so I've been using Meter for the majority of my games. I guess my question is why you chose to set it that way, and if you have any recommendations on tweaks for Meter Pitching. I know you've been saying that the sliders are best when set EXACTLY as you have them, so I'm wondering if I'm missing out by using Meter instead of Classic.

Thanks and cheers to you for your slider set!

                                Re: Titus' Veteran Slider Set

I increased foul ball frequency because pitch counts weren't nearly close enough to where they needed to be. My main problem is the CPU seemingly getting 2-out rallies going, almost to where I can call it.

If I get the first two batters out with 6 or less pitches I know the CPU is going to do something, whether it be them hitting the first pitch for the next few batters, or my guys start making errors in the field. I almost few powerless to stop it at all. Sure, it's baseball but more times than not when I'm hitting I get the perfect timing with solid contact and I hit a sharp grounder or liner RIGHT at somebody or it's a foul ball.

Maybe I'm just frustrated, but I don't feel like the game rewards you enough for doing things well, but punishes you very hard for messing up. It's not a slider issue, it's a programming issue...
