Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

THese sliders are great. I use auto fielding (I just like the flow of a great baseball game not that good with the sticks). Sometimes i just marvel at how realistic this game is with these sliders. It's so close to an actual game of baseball that it's unreal. I mean, you have to pitch to corners and you have to mix up pitches and location. If you model your pitching after real major leaguers ( i use dodgers) you will find that even when you give a walk or two in an inning, sometimes you get out of it with making good pitches to other less talented batters.

As for auto fielding, i just like to make outs when i'm supposed to make outs. it just helps with the overall feel of the game for me. Im usually a comp vs comp player but these sliders really have me hooked so far. just can't wait for rosters by knight and company.

I also use wide batting and broadcast hitting

anyone drop down to 720? how does it play?

gentlemen- i just wanted to tip my beloved dirty Cubs hat to you both. I was hoping to see some slider for MLB 11 from PsychoBul and to see sliders from both of you, well, that just makes me giddy. cheers.

i have MLB 11 but i have been waiting for sliders from Psycho so this is great. I am finishing up my franchise season in MLB 10 with my Cubbies....i just have too much time invested and i love my team too much to quit and start playing MLB 11 BUT i am looking forward to reading how your sliders are progressing etc.

      thanks again...

any suggestions for someone looking to use this set but with Classic pitching. don't want to hit spots all the time, and want a lot of variability in pitch location (except for aces of the staff).

Haven't had the chance to try these yet. just curious , with hitting mostly at default (5) except for solid hits (2)... what kind of HR numbers are you getting from the CPU?

Right about where it should be, an average of around 1 a game, thats of course very dependant on whos pitching for the human, the skill of the user etc, loads of variables in sliders that nobody can account for.

                    Hey TNK and Psycho,

Thanks for all the hard work on these. What rosters do you all use? Do these sliders match up well with any particular set? If this has been mentioned before my apologies. Great work guys!

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

I'm using the same sliders I did last year.

The difference between those and the ones you posted are:

[1] Mine have lower human contact (but higher foul balls).
[2] Both human and CPU pitcher control and consistency are slightly lower.

My guess is the sliders will play basically the same.

Here's my usual, annual, suggestion for those testing slider ...

[1] Play 20 games (5-7 series, 4 times through the rotation).
[2] Keep game average stats for the 20 games.
[3] Compare to MLB per game (combined teams) averages.

What I generally find is that hits per game need to be a little higher, as walks per game (mlb avr = 6.6) will be lower. The number of runners per game (or WHIP) is critical, because it's the greatest predictor of runs per game (MLB avr = 9.8).

As usual, wind needs turned way down, or off.

I am glad to see S'Hits at 2, instead of zero.

Last year, we each had very good slider sets that were similar to each others set in many ways. Each of our sets were 2 of the most downloaded sets on SportsConnect and they both recieved very high marks while each of our slider threads were among the most active threads in the slider forums.

This looks to be a good initial set. A couple of questions in relation to my sliders:

I play on AllStar for both hitting and pitching (Timing and meter respectively). What I was finding was too many homers so I currently have contact, timing and solid hits (for both human and cpu) at default and power at 4 (am considering moving it down to 3). Why have you lowered solid hits to 2 and kept power at 5? Seems most of the concerns expressed from other posters is too many homers.

Secondly, I currently have cpu pitching sliders at:

                        control - 5
                        Consistency - 3
                        freq - 3.

I was finding that the cpu was simply throwing too many strikes (especially on the corners) with these close to default. You have consistency at 6 and frequency at 1 - do you think we will see similar results?

I thought fielder run speed was just fine last year at default. Do you think it has changed that much that we need to lower it to 2? The games I have played so far seem to be fine with this at default.

I also have both fielding and throwing errors at 6 as I wasn't seeing any errors with these at default. I might move both a them up to 7.

Thanks again for these sliders and for your input.

Hey guys, I really appreciate the work but have a question. I love analog hitting and pitching. Can these sliders work with the analog controls? I'm not sure if there is any relation between sliders and gameplay options, but I see that you have different settings recommended. Thanks.

That's the only way to draw walks and not strike out 12 - 15 times a game
I played ONE game online this year and got no hit (guy was throwing ball all over the place) and i struck out 20 times in the game.. in the final 2 innings i just gave up and let him have the no no and didnt even swing...

but yeah i have tried every level of batting practice and had no luck. the most points i have had in any mode (discipline) was seven. i really suck bad. that took me several hrs of attempts in the mode to achieve.

it is really the low ball or the ball that darts down in the zone. well heck it is all of them I'm swinging at everything from the sky to the ground and from one coast too the other. I have even tried my old mvp hitting system where i put down the controller for the first pitches til i get to two-strikes and still i strike out or whatever.

i know my vision (astigmisizm) has something to do with it and my depth perception or whatever. i need to get my contacts back. when i had them i think i saw the ball better than i do with my glasses on. anyway... yes i have to be patient... that is the hard part... im a true believer of the old addege of "see ball hit ball" or at least swing at it.

Seems to me ur having issues determining where the ball is or is going. Try one of the Catcher cams 4/5 and lower pitch speed to 0. Also use Classic Guess Pitch 1/4 and always Guess Pitch, that way u will know where the ball will be.
