Seems to me ur having issues determining where the ball is or is going. Try one of the Catcher cams 4/5 and lower pitch speed to 0. Also use Classic Guess Pitch 1/4 and always Guess Pitch, that way u will know where the ball will be.

agreed....i am a free swinger as well. I lowered the pitch speed to 2 (i dont use guess pitch) and found i am hitting the ball much better. still striking out on the low pitches and the stinking sliders but it really does help lowering the speed. so instead of strking out 12-13 times per game its down to 7ish

Sorry quick ?, can anybody confirm that if you have strike zone on then hot cold zones are in effect (even if they are off or on) and when strike zone is off then hot/cold zones have no effect. I just seem to strike out a lot more batters when strike zone is on. Josh Johnson had 13k's with strike zone on and played again with off and he had 5. Now like Psycho says with any testing you have to do at least 20-30 games but I was just curious. Thanks guys great slider set !

Youre right, with strike zone off the hot and cold zones are not in play.

Great work on these you guys! I just had a great game on HOF. On that level you really have to work your butt off and limit your mistakes to win a game. I use timing hitting and classic pitching. I give up plenty of walks using classic.

Psycho, I didn't know you were a Tigers fan. How do you like this years team? I'm not too thrilled with 3b, SS or 2b but what can you do.

I played ONE game online this year and got no hit (guy was throwing ball all over the place) and i struck out 20 times in the game.. in the final 2 innings i just gave up and let him have the no no and didnt even swing...

but yeah i have tried every level of batting practice and had no luck. the most points i have had in any mode (discipline) was seven. i really suck bad. that took me several hrs of attempts in the mode to achieve.

it is really the low ball or the ball that darts down in the zone. well heck it is all of them I'm swinging at everything from the sky to the ground and from one coast too the other. I have even tried my old mvp hitting system where i put down the controller for the first pitches til i get to two-strikes and still i strike out or whatever.

i know my vision (astigmisizm) has something to do with it and my depth perception or whatever. i need to get my contacts back. when i had them i think i saw the ball better than i do with my glasses on. anyway... yes i have to be patient... that is the hard part... im a true believer of the old addege of "see ball hit ball" or at least swing at it.

Not for nothing, but you're talking a bout an online game against another Human opponent - the sliders have nothing to do with online hum vs. hum games

Psycho, I didn't know you were a Tigers fan. How do you like this years team? I'm not too thrilled with 3b, SS or 2b but what can you do.

Yeah, used to live and work in the area (Ann Arbor) a few years back so fell in love with most of Detroit sports from there, i was already a Baseball fan but didnt really associate with a team until i was in Michigan and went to Comerica a few times etc, very much my team now.

I think we have a solid rotation, a potentially stellar pen, really good, plenty of power punch in the lineup now with Maggs/Cabby/V-Mart in the order after each other, with other guys like Raburn/Inge/Boesch who can all hit 15-20HR. 3b, yeah, Inge can be divisive but if he hits .250 and drives in 70 that will do me as his defense is very good.

You know at 2b depending on who wins that spot (looking like Rhymes as Sizemore was cut today) then we are ok, Rhymes is a good 2 spot hitter, good D, bit of speed, hits for average, i like him...short, well Peralta is very hit and miss, he too can hit 20 jacks and drive in 80 but he will be around .250, his defense is the more worrying part.

All in all i think we will take the Central this year but as ever the Twins and White Sox will make it such a tight 3 horse race, cant wait.

Pitch Speed is user preference right? I'm wanting to try it at 1 instead of 4, my reaction time isn't the best in the world.

I live in ATL now but grew up in Detroit. Still love my Tigers. They definitely have issues. If you go to detnews.com Lyn Henning had a great article about the Tigers future. He says play Worth at ss, Sizemore at 2b and put Casper Wells and Deik Scram in the of with Mags at dh.

I grew up in Royal Oak. Ugh! I dislike Inge's game. Great D, but dude can't put the ball in play at all. OK power, but I'd ake Nick Punto (at least he gives himself a chance at the plate). The rotation is real solid and I like Coke and Schlereth. To me Peralta isn't the answer and can V-MART adjust to dh. I bet Avila struggles and V-MART goes back to catching 4 times a week.

I also use pitch speed at five. It's crazy how much you have to concentrate to get walks but I was able to draw 3 walks my last game. Also does anyone know that if you have strike zone on but hot/cold zones off that the hot/cold zones apply? I know having the strike zone off locks hot/cold zones and they do not apply, I'm just talking about having them visually off.

Haha, worked in Royal Oak a few times and surrounding areas, Trenton, Livonia, South Lyon, many more.

Yeah, Avila, i think he will be fine, his stats last season when catching every day were around .300, i think the guy can hit ok, he takes his walks too, but i agree with you on V-Mart doing more catching than people expect, maybe 2/3 times a week.

Thanks for the sliders! I do have a few questions...

I am not the best hitter in the world. I typically have solid hits around 4. Does solid hits mean that I need to square it up that much better, or just that more results will vary? I don't know if I am comfortable with dipping that low if it means that I have to be that much more on target.

Also, as much as I want to be patient and earn walks, I would like to be able to judge balls and strikes a bit easier...does pitcher consistancy control that function? I currently have strike frequency at 0.

I was playing with TNK's sliders last week and it seems that I would hit a lot of line drives and homeruns, did lowering power and solid hits balance out the hit variety more?

I will give these a shot, just looking for a little feedback, thanks!

Thx for the sliders. I put the strike frequency down to 0 and the pitch speed down to 3 but i get to much strikeouts by Cpu anyway. I play with the White Sox, my strike outs are realistic but i get about 15-20 strike outs by the Cpu. The pitch counts are good. What do you think i can do to get a realistic strike out frequency by the Cpu. Put the contacts for human higher?
