Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

How can I increase total amount of pitches for both sides? My starters are averaging only around 82 pitches per start which is well below league average and the cpu is averaging 89 pitches. I'm thinking I need to be a little more patient but, the cpu also doesn't walk anyone and neither do I. Should I lower the user and cpu control?

Keep trying to paint, even on 3 ball counts, you will walk people.

The CPU will walk you if you show patience, trust me...as a matter of fact ive just walked 5 times against Cole Hamels.

Show the CPU you wont always swing at crap.

Yeah, you need to start throwing off the plate more. You also need to be patient.

I have been having my pitchers and the CPU pitchers both hit 100 pitches sometimes by the 6th inning.

This isn't something you're gonna fix with a slider adjustment

I honestly haven't had issues with stealing. I've had steals and been thrown out, likewise for the CPU
              Nice sliders btw.
But i've got agree with topside. Base stealing is far too easy.
I have pitch speed at 4 and it does not make any difference.
Since i have been tracking this whenever i get Mcclouth or Heyward on base i attempt to steal.
So far i have had 13 attempts (6 for Mcclouth and 7 for Heyward) and have never been thrown out. This is without even taking an extra step off the bag, just a straight steal. Now i know these guys are quick esp Mcclouth but 100% success rate does not seem right to me.
I even tried with Uggla just to see if i could, now i did take a step with him but i still managed to steal successfully.
Personally what i have done is move the baserunning ability slider to 2.
And with this now i do have to take that extra step even with Mcclouth and if it is a fastball down the middle then i am getting put out.

Again this is just a personal preference and i am just giving you feedback on what i am seeing with my team...if guys aren't seeing this then all well and good leave it as is but if they are having too much success then they might want to give this a shot

Yeah stealing was too easy so I moved Pitch Speed back to default(5) abd lowered base steal ability by -1. It's a little better through the 1 game I played but I still want to test it out more. Other than that I have no complaints about these sliders.

Wouldn't arm strength play into this? I assume this rating also applies to catchers and if it is set to a very low number I would think it would affect steals.

Arm Strength slider states that it doesnt affect catcher picks if I recall correctly. I'm not quite sure if that means throwing out runners or not.

                              UPDATE

Reduced baserunner steal ability to 4

Updated post #1 of the thread to reflect this change. Again, this is a minor tweak - we are not going to put out a new release for this.

The only changes from the original Perefect Sliders 1.0 that are on SportsConnect are

Baserunner Steal Ability - moved from 5 to 4
Fielding Errors - moved from 6 to 7

                                Boston @ LA Angels

The game was close with Boston leading 3-2 entering the 7th inning before the Sox scored 3 runs to make it 6-2 and then Jarrod Saltalamacchia crushed a 3-run HR int he 9th inning to blow it wide open.
