Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***

I've made a couple of slight adjustments after playing with these for a while now.

    All Star

    Pitch speed up to 5

Human Contact up to 6 (I use Timing Hitting, felt there were to many swing and misses)
*May lower it back down to 5 if I see to many hits and then raise Timing to 6*

Human Pitching Control up to 6 (I use classic pitching and feel this needed to be raised)

Fielder Reaction down to 4 (to many infield grounders getting easily smothered)

Still enjoying these, Seeing great game variety.

      TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

      GAME #3 OF THE SEASON

The Red Sox and Rangers played an extra innings in the rubber match of the series. Clay Buchholz was outstanding as he pitched 7 shutout innings for Boston. The Sox took a 3-0 lead to the 9th but Jonathan Papelbon blew the save when Nelson Cruz hit a gmae tying HR to send it to extra innings. The bullpen implosion was complete in the bottom of the 10th when Mike Napoli hit a walkoff HR off Dennis Reyes to give Texas the huge come from behind win.

The Red Sox lose 2 of 3 to Texas and have a day off before heading to Cleveland for a 3 game series with the Indians

little frustrated now. 3 straight games I was ahead going in to the top of the 9th. each game used a different pitcher. all 3 games first batter doubles. 2nd batter hits one to right that my fielder dives and misses. run is scored and then the runner on his was to 3rd gets a home run out of it due to an overthrow to my 3rd baseman. I lose each game by 1. same exact thing happens in 3 straight games? coincidence or not this pissed me off!

I upped human solid hits to 6 and power to 6 as I was getting no home runs or extra base hits even on swings that had solid contact and went nowhere.

Sounds like a low combination of Pitch Control and Pitch Consistency, or just a bad streak. I also blew like 4 games in the 9th: a 5 run lead and a 4 run lead, a 1 run lead and a tie game.

A bit late to the party, but if you turned on CPU Roster Control when you started your franchise, you won't get a single injury, ever. Injuries are disabled when that option is turned on.

About 60% of the time I bring in a new pitcher (Playing Spring Training so a lot) the 1st pitch is hit for a double or triple no matter the score. Just started noticing it after starting this new franchise so I don't know whats up either lol...

Something to consider, when you bring in a new pitcher there's a very good chance his energy level is higher than the pitcher you are replacing him with, therefore his control is going to be better.
The spot you were aiming with the tired pitcher wont be the same with the fresh one. Try aiming further out of the zone. Chances are if he has good control the pitch will be near the plate anyways, so even if you miss your spot by a little you still might get it over the plate.
I learned this lesson wit Mariano Rivera last year. His control is near perfect so to get the ball off the plate I had to aim further away than I would for say a David Robertson or a Boone Logan.
                      Hope that makes sense.

Yeah I'm sure it has to do with me and the pitchers I am using or lack there of (Royals). I haven't seen it at all until this franchise so... That makes a lot of sense and something I never considered. Thanks!

It was odd to see someone else with the same issue though so I had to say something.

These sliders are da bomb. I want to turn down fielding reaction to 4 like one or two have mentioned doing. I did turn Human contact up 1 and am hitting .242 with the Royals so that seems on par.

I just had a 13 inning game where I forced 12 walks. The CPU threw 245 pitches and 137 were strikes and 108 were balls for 56% strike ratio. Never before have I ever came that close to those numbers. It was a odd game too as I average around 4 walks a game.

These sliders are so good. With the default sliders the outfielders would get most balls I hit in the gap and starting pitchers would go 9 innings.

I might have to tinker with human pitching control a little though because I normally can go 8 before even reaching 100 pitchers on my starter.

                          Thanks A LOT guys!

Press start and keep an eye on your pitch count and strikes to balls ratio. It might be that you are throwing too many strikes, but it might also be that the CPU isn't hitting enough foul balls.

These sliders are amazing. Here is the controls I'm using and find them to be the best for my liking.

Pitching - Meter from outfield view
Batting - Zone hitting with catcher 3 view

I also use Power Swing when the count is in my favor by 2 balls, such as 2-0 and 3-1 counts. I use normal swings when I have 1 strike on me and the count is 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, and use contact swings when I have 2 strikes regardless of the count.

The only complaint I have is that it does seem the AI comeback logic is there and it usually is a result of a bad throwing play that I have no control over.

Mind you, I stopped taking any lead whatsoever, and still get there easily. I set the Baserunner Steal Ability slider at 2, still too easy.

I read the slider may be reversed, have you witnessed this?

                                Thanks again gentlemen!
I have a suggestion and I've used this the last couple years. Do not take an extra step leading off and don't hit the steal button until you see the pitcher beginning his motion. As soon as I see the leg move, I press the button. I use this method and only have success about 35-40% of the time.
