    Update:

Dai and Nomo seem to be settling on 5/10 for errors.

I don't know though. What do you think?

Hmm... I think I'm going to have to stick with 6 for the time being.

I know it's a small sample size, but I'm just not seeing that many throwing errors as of yet. Plus, it may help make up for some of the errors we won't be seeing by having fielding errors at 10.

How are sim injuries at default? Any idea?

We'll need two slider sets anyway, for the relief stamina.

I've heard varying things on how it sims out at default.

Oh...are you aware of the 30-team franchise trade logic bug?

I'll take a look when I fire up my franchise later. I haven't really been paying much attention to injuries. I think the only one I've had one of my team was to George Sherrill(out for a month or two..). To soon to tell I guess. Though it seemed like last year there would be at least a minor injury every other day for the guys in the AA and AAA. I think I've only seen one of those so far, also in with the Braves.

quick , stupid question for u guys. i've been playing with all hitting sliders for user & cpu at default. i think it plays beautifully except i'm seeing too much of the scoring coming via HRs for me and the cpu. is the solution to this simply to drop the power slider to 4? i figured i'd ask before i started messing with the sliders ..... thanx

As far the injury slider is concerned, I plan on leaving on default for played games. I meant, since it's one of the few sliders 'in play' for simming, where you think it should be at during games we DON'T play?

The shiny new trade logic, (where contenders make deals near the deadline, bums will dump salaries when out of contention, no real trading in May, deadline deals, etc etc...) seems to not have made it into 30-Team franchises. It's only there for Single Team...in other words, only one profile attached to your team, the rest blank.

In 30-Team, it's the same stuff as last year. Stars being dealt in May, prospects being traded for nothing, no deadline deals, no real logic in relation to team standings, etc, etc.

This sucks, though SCEA is aware of the problem and will hopefully patch it.

I plan on running a single team franchise, with budgets turned off (or, 'ignore team budgets: on'). This curbs the FA 2014 issue pretty well. Stars aren't all over FA, but prospects do get picked up by other teams due to the Arb/Renewal issue which is broken in both modes.

I could go on and on with this, if you're interested. I have a 30 team workaround too if you want it. Here's a lay out of your franchise options:

              Pick your poison...

Single team: Good trade logic, but prospects will often change teams a few years too early. Stars usually don't rott in FA.

30 team: Bad trade logic. I mean, awful. But, you get to control all CPU moves and renew players/offer arbitration as you see fit around the league...literally controlling all aspects of arbitration/renewals for all teams to keep things in check...otherwise, superstars end up in FA, prospects don't get resigned and become multi-millionaires in the open market, several years too early.

Hopefully, SCEA fixes the 30 team trade logic. Otherwise, it's single team for me.

I dropped wind to 3, and power to 4 on both sides. It has made a wonderful impact. I'd start there man.

I'm thinking I need to drop power to 4 as well. But how does it affect the non-power guys like Jeter and Gardiner? Jeter shouldn't hit 30 homers but he should be able to hit 12-15. I'm concerned that lowering power to 4 will zap the power of the non-power hitting guys and they won't be able to hit any homeruns.

I wouldn't worry about that. Power seems a little subtle to me.

I've hit homeruns with Ellsbury and the good old contact swing if that helps...

                        Jgainsey, quick question:

My brother noticed that since turning his user control to 4, that 'forced meatballs' (the ones where the meter reacts like you never gestured your upstroke...like when your thumb slips) are happening like several times per game. Sometimes like several times per inning.

I told him that in total, I have had this happen to me once (where I was positive I gestured my upstroke).

Has this happened to you at all? I didn't know what to tell him other than, "Just play a few more games and report back."

I have no idea why this is happening to him. Or, at least so often.

Have you seen this at all? Like, even once? Or is his thumb just slipping?

It doesn't happen to me and I have control at 0.

Has it ever happened to you?

It has to me; usually when my thumb slips.

But one time recently, like I said above, I was 'forced' into a meatball when I was pretty positive that I gestured the down/upstroke correctly.

You'll see red down-facing arrow atop the meter when it happens.

I never felt like I had it "forced" on me though. I do this thing sometimes where I like quickly take move my thumb off the stick for a fraction of a second and sometimes it's off the stick too long and I get the red arrow thing. Also, most of the time when that happens, my pitcher doesn't throw a meatball, he mostly throws a pretty wild ball.

Right, I should have been more specific. I think almost every time, minus one or two (whether or not it was MY mistake), the pitch ended up being wild, not a meatball.

My brother used the word "meatball" when he asked me, and since it has happened to me before like that (but not nearly as often as simply a wild pitch), I didn't inquire further.
