Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

I have been using this set but put solid hits up 1

only problem is i'm still hitting way too many grounders and shallow fly balls. I hardly hit the ball to the deep part of the of

i mean getting a wheelhouse perfect timing is resulting in to many many ground outs to the infield.

    how can i correct this?

Tried these on veteran hitting and pitching and my pitching has been bad and the cpu offense has been killing it. What changes do you recommend if using these sliders on veteran(hitting and pitching).

Playing a game right against the Indians and I'm down 5-0 in the 1st inning. I'm pitching with Mike Minor. Cpu has slammed everything. My 1st game, I played the Nationals and Adam LaRoche had three homeruns on me. The cpu offense seems to be incredible. What do you recommend?

Are you getting killed on veteran or allstar? You need to pitch better. Im playing on allstar and moving my PCI to the ball and getting very good results. I went on a 7 game winning streak with the red sox. I lost to Minnesota twice, then pummeled them 25-3 the last game.

I played on veteran hitting and allstar pitching until I noticed, I was beating up on the cpu too bad. Have been playing strictly on all star.

The difference from veteran to all star, is that the cpu doesnt make as many mistakes and they spot their pitches on the corners more. Basically they pitch better. I have cpu contact 5, power 4, timing 5, solid hits 5. They are hitting well, but not overly well. Human contact 6 and Human timing 6. Everything else 5s. Im using the sliders on the first page, just tweaked a tad.

Dont use guess pitch, way too many penalties. I used it when i got the game, and noticed all ground balls and hits right at people. Stopped using it and started getting gappers and homers.

Getting killed on all-star, that's what I've been using since the game released. Past two games have been on veteran and it feels right. I know eventually I will have to move up. I played like 6 games on HOF and not even close, the cpu pitcher throws nothing but strikes. I don't use guess pitch, I also use timing hitting. Applied these slider to veteran and the only issue I see is the cpu batting being so efficient.

I tried timing hitting when TNK changed, but I noticed alot of balls on the ground, air, or right at people.

Moving the PCI to the ball takes a little practice, but once you start knowing in your head that a fastball might be coming, you will be so much more patient at the plate.

Pedroia was batting top of 3rd, down two runs, two down, 3-2 count and bases loaded against the white sox. The pitcher had been owning me with that damn slider low, but I had a feeling he was coming with a fastball because I knew he didnt want to walk me and walk a run in. I got the fastball on the outside part of the plate and but a good but late swing on it and drove in the right field gap for a 3 run double.

Try using PCI, more variey of hits and makes your knowledge of the K zone better.

Should these be universal for the Vita as well? They work fine for me on ps3 but on the vita I am using them and even moved it to veteran and I'm still sucking. My team BA is around 2.20 in my franchise I have been playing on both systems and my team era is 3.79. I'd like to get that average up a little bit. The only guy batting over .300 is Jose Bautista but I am afraid to go any lower in difficulty on the vita cause he already has 16 jacks in 36 games.

                      Firstly, turn guess pitch OFF!

                        TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

OAKLAND A'S @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #23 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Tyson Ross vs. Clay Buchholz)

The Red Sox and A's kick off a 3 game series at Fenway with Clay Buchholz facing Tyson Ross in the opener. The pitchers were dominating early as we headed to the 4th inning in a scoreless tie while Buchholz had allowed just one hit and Tyson Ross was perfect through 3 innings. The Boston offense got to work in the bottom of the 4th as Ellsbury led off with a single, stole 2nd base and then came around to score on an RBI single up the middle by Dustin Pedroia to take a 1-0 lead. Adrian Gonzalez was up next and he crushed a belt high fastball to straight away CF for a 2-run HR to make it 3-0. Cliff Pennington missed a HR by inches in the top of the 5th inning as he took a ball high off the green monster to setup runners at 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs for Jemile Weeks. Buchholz left a fastball out over the plate and Weeks turned on it and wrapped it around the pesky pole for a 3-run HR to tie the game at 3-3. Tyson Ross got Ellsbury to ground into a double play to end the 5th inning and the game would head to the 6th with the score tied 3-3. Oakland took the lead in the top of the 6th as Yoenes Cespedes crushed a changeup that Buchholz left up in the zone 436 feet for a solo HR to LF to put the A's on top 4-3. Tyson Ross sat the Red Sox down in order in the bottom of the 6th and we moved to the 7th innign wit the A's leading 4-3. Buchholz was removed from the game after issuing a 1 out walk to Eric Sogard and Mark melancon came on in relief to get the final two outs of the inning. Brian Fuented relieved Ross to beign the bottom of the 7th and put the tying run on base immediately as he hit David Ortiz with the first pitch of the inning. Fuentes struck out Cody Ross before allowing a single to Ryan Sweeney and then getting Saltalamacchia to gorund out to 1st base bringing up Mike Aviles with 2 men in scoring position and 2 outs, but Aviles would hit the ball hard but right at Pennington at SS to end the 7th inning with Oakland still leading 4-3. Coco Crisp singled to lead off the 8th and stole 2nd base. Yoenes Cespedes would draw a walk but Crisp would get greedy as he tried to swipe 3rd base and was gunned down by Saltalamacchia for the 2nd out. Melancon issued his 2nd walk of the inning to Seth Smith and then got Kurt Suzuki to ground out to wiggle out of trouble and keep the score 4-3. The A's brought in Ryan Cook from the pen to pitch the bottom of the 8th and he left a fastball up in the zone that Jacoby Ellsbury drilled over the green monster for a solo HR to tie the game at 4-4 with nobody out. Oakland went back to the pen immediately as they called on Jim Miller and he retired the side to send the game to the 9th inning all even at 4-4. Scott Atchison came on to pitch the top of the 9th and Oakland took the lead with 2 outs on an RBI double by Jemile Weeks as he hit a fly ball to LF that had just enough on it to get out of the reach of Cody Ross and scrape the green monster, allowing Pennington to score and give Oakland the 5-4 lead. The A's turned to their closer Grant Balfour looking to close it out in the bottom of the 9th. Balfour got Ortiz to pop out for the 1st out before allowing a long wall ball single to Ross. Balfour rebounded to strike out Sweeney and then got Saltalamacchia to pop out to end the game as Balfour picks up his 7th save of the season as the A's hold on for a 5-4 victory.

                        * Mike Aviles extended his hitting streak to 9 games and is hitting .308 on the season

                        * Jemile Weeks had a big night for the A's as he went 3 for 5 and was a triple shy of the cycle with a single, double, HR and 4 RBI in the game

You shouldn't be using GUESS PITCH

Reagrdless - ZONE HITTING - see the pitch and swing while going with the location by aiming your swing

Just started my Red Sox Franchise up again with these sliders.
First game of the season 18 innings... 4-4 and Detroit comes away with a walk off double.

You can adjust the sliders.....if you need to raise your average, increase Contact and Timing by 1 click each and see how it goes for 5 to 10 games

Hey TNKNGM, just want to say that I love the sliders but I am really really struggling to hit. I have everything the same except I am using pure analog hitting and pulse pitching. I have not tweaked any of the sliders and I have played about 8 games now. I have not scored a run in any of them and I am only averaging about 2-3 hits. The computer on the other hand is only scoring about 1-2 runs and about 5-7 hits per game. I like the tight games as they are fun but I just can not hit at all. And I am one that does not sit on any pitches I swing at pretty much everything so that is one problem that I realize but do you have any input as to how I can tweak the sliders so that way I average about 2-3 runs a game and 5-10 hits per game to match the computer? Thanks!
