Pitching is to easy! Teams never score more than 2 runs a game on me and i strikeout 8-10 per game,.. Also i have walked one batter in 8 games ,,

Any advice on what to do?

Not meant to be a testy response......it takes time to get the feel of hitting and you are going to go through highs and lows. You can't tell squat from 4 or 5 games. In the beginning you gotta look at a 20 game minimum sample because you are still getting the feel for how the sliders will play out.

POWER SWING - I only use it with a power hitter and in a 3 and 0 or 3 and 1 count if I get an absolute meatball. I literally use it maybe once every 5 games....honestly!!

Just stick with normal swing and focus on laying off crap and swinging at good pitches you can drive and you will hit plenty of HR.

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Hey all, I've been browsing this thread a lot lately but haven't posted until now.

I have seen that many people are having success in getting realistic results with these sliders, but I have played around 40 games using them and I haven't had the same fortune. Pitching has been fine, but offense has been a different story. I should note that I've been playing The Show for several years now and am very familiar with baseball in general, so I'm not a complete noob in this game. Also, I am using Timing hitting and Guess Pitch 1/4; I don't know if this has much, if any, impact on the results I'm getting. Some of these may not have anything to do with the sliders, but the following are issues I'm having:
-Few extra base hits (particularly doubles): It's been nearly impossible to drive balls into the gap or down the line.
-Trouble scoring runs: While I usually record a realistic number of hits each game, the fact that almost all are singles makes it really tough to score.
-Hitting meatballs: When an opposing pitcher hangs a slider or curveball that should end up in the bleachers, it instead results in a weak popout 4 times out of 5.
-Hitting to the opposite field: I have been making a concerted effort to try and drive outside pitches to the opposite field, but when I wait back on the pitch, it, again, seems to result in weak pop-outs much more often than it should.
-Crushing the ball for outs: When I have been hitting the ball on the screws, the ball almost always ends up a hard grounder to either 2B or SS, or it is smashed on a line right to an outfielder.
-Spectacular plays on defense: My would-be extra-base hits are often taken away by all kinds of amazing plays on defense, especially by players who aren't known for their defensive prowess. Diving and leaping catches all over the field, and even worse, the superhuman tags that sometimes happen at 2nd or 3rd base where a runner looks safe and somehow the fielder slaps the tag on him in less than a nanosecond. Very unrealistic when compared to the number of amazing defense plays that actually happen in real life. This one I would assume is not a slider-related issue.

I would much appreciate any advice on how to alter my gameplay or perhaps tweak the sliders to achieve a more realistic offense. My goal is to simply be getting the same results as TNK and many others who post here.
          Thanks!

I am far from being an expert but I would suggest you turn Guess Pitch off. I believe you get penalized, to some degree, if you guess wrong. Also, give zone hitting a shot. Much more rewarding when you make solid contact.

I believe the only reason so many of us suck at hitting is because of the input lag.. I mean most of us have been gamers our whole lives and now we suck at a baseball game.. NO CHANCE!!

Im willing to bet you dont have much input lag on your tv or you play on a monitor

In response to another slider thread you've been active in lately... no matter how "challenging" or "simulation" the claims are, the 1st thing I look @ is human SOLID HITS slider. If I don't see "3", I'm otta there...

                        TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

MIAMI MARLINS @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #70 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Ricky Nolasco vs. Daisuke Matsuzaka)

The Red Sox and Marlins play the rubber match of this 3 game series at Fenway as Ricky Nolasco takes the mound for Miami against Daisuke Matsuzaka. Boston took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st as Jacoby Ellsbury led off with a double and came in to score on an RBI single by David Ortiz. The Marlins tied the game up in the top of the 2nd when Logan Morrison led off with a triple off the CF wall and he came in to score on a sac fly by Omar Infante to tie the game 1-1. John Buck followed with a solo HR to LF to give Miami a 2-1 lead. Boston had runners at 2nd & 3rd with one out in the bottom of the 3rd and David Ortiz lined a single to CF to score two runs and we would go to the 4th inning with the Red Sox leading 3-2. Jarrod Saltalamacchia led off the bottom of the 4th and turned on a fastball from Nolasco and launched a solo HR to RF to increase the Boston lead to 4-2. The Marlins got back to back singles from Reyes and Bonifacio to begin the top of the 6th and Giancarlo Stanton would make it 4-3 with a one out RBI single. Things would fall apart for Matsuzaka as Bonifacio stole 3rd base and score as Saltalamacchia threw the ball into LF for an error and the game was tied at 4-4. Logan Morrison took the very next pitch from Daisuke deep for a 2-run HR into the bullpen in RF to give the Marlins a 6-4 lead and knock Matsuzaka out of the game. Franklin Morales came in and got out of the inning without any further damage. Nolasco sat the Red Sox down in order in the bottom of the 6th and we would go to the 7th inning with Miami leading 6-4. Franklin Morales struck out Hanley Ramirez with runners at the corners to end the top of the 7th and keep the score 6-4. Nolasco pitched another 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 7th as we would head to the 8th inning with the Marlins still up 6-4. Gaby Sanchez extended the Marlins lead to 7-4 with an RBI double and Omar Infante followed with a double to score Sanchez and make it 8-4 in the top of the 8th. Edward Mujica set the Red Sox down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 8th and we would go to the 9th inning with the Marlins up 8-4. Scott Atchison retired the side in order in the top of the 9th and the Red Sox would come to bat in the bottom of the 9th trailing 8-4. Kevin Youkilis led off the bottom of the 9th with a single and Jarrod Saltalamacchia would follow with his 2nd HR of the game as he crushed a slider from Mujica 414 feet down the RF line for a 2-run HR to make it 8-6. Ozzie Guillen would bring in Ryan Webb from the pen as the Sox now trailed by two runs with nobody out and he would get Cody Ross to fly out for the 1st out. Heath Bell was now warm and he would make his way in looking to record the final two outs. Ryan Sweeney grounded out to Reyes at SS for the 2nd out and Boston was down to their final out. Will Middlebrooks would pinch hit for Nick Punto and he worked a full count before launching a solo HR to straight away CF to pull the Sox within one run at 8-7. Jacoby Ellsbury came up next but he would fly out to CF to end the game as the Red Sox 9th inning rally comes up just short and the Marlins hold on for an 8-7 victory....WHAT A GAME!!!

                        * The Marlins take 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox in a great series as every game was decided by one run. The Red Sox will now host the Atlanta Braves for a 3 game series that will conclude interleague play for the season. Game 1 will feature a god pitching matchup as the Braves send Tommy Hanson to the mound and Boston will counter with Jon Lester.

                        * Logan Morrison had a great series for Miami as he hit .583 (7 for 12) with 1 HR, 6 RBI and 2 runs scored in the 3 games

                        * David Ortiz had a good series for Boston as he hit .417 (5 for 12) with 1 double, 2 HR, 6 RBI and 3 runs scored in the 3 games.

                        * Jacoby Ellsbury had a good series for Boston as he hit .462 (6 for 13) with 3 doubles, 3 runs scored and a stolen base in the 3 games. Ellsbury is hitting .436 over his last 10 games and is currently 3rd in the AL with a .339 average on the season.

                        * Will Middlebrooks is on fire as he has hit .417 with 5 HR and 10 RBI in his last 10 games played. Middlebrooks is hitting .262 with 8 HR and 18 RBI despite seeing action in just 25 as his MLB career is off to a spectacular start. The Red Sox are expected to trade Kevin Youkilis before the trade deadline and hand the full time job at 3rd base over to Middlebrooks.

                        * Adrian Gonzalez continues to mash as he has hit .415 over his last 10 games and has his average up to .329 on the season. Gonzalez leads the AL with 58 RBI and is currently tied for 3rd in the AL with 18 HR

In response to another slider thread you've been active in lately... no matter how "challenging" or "simulation" the claims are, the 1st thing I look @ is human SOLID HITS slider. If I don't see "3", I'm otta there...

                          3 is SOLID HITS nirvana

In the beginning you gotta look at a 20 game minimum sample because you are still getting the feel for how the sliders will play out.

POWER SWING - I only use it with a power hitter and in a 3 and 0 or 3 and 1 count if I get an absolute meatball. I literally use it maybe once every 5 games....honestly!!

Just stick with normal swing and focus on laying off crap and swinging at good pitches you can drive and you will hit plenty of HR.
Nice, thanks pal. Found the gap a few times with Gonzo last night and brought the center fielder to the track with Papi and Salty. I'll let you know when I go yahhhhd.

                              Crap! Another question for you...

Injury frequency @ 6 DURING games?

Injury frequency @ 1 DURING simulation?

I ask, because page #1 has injury frequency @ 5?

                              Thanks, in advance...

You are correct - I drop to 1 for sims and bump it to 6 for my games
