Phil Hughes was very good early as he had 5 strikeouts in the 1st two innings and we would go to the 3rd with New York leading 1-0.
I wasn't so lucking. I got 1 run, 3 hits, and struck out 12 times against him. The Yankees are pretty ridiculous on this game. I got swept in a three game set and was outscored 18-4.

          TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ TAMPA BAY RAYS
GAME #86 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Jon Lester vs. David Price)

The Red Sox and Rays begin a pivotal 3 game series in Tampa with Boston just a 1/2 game ahead of Tampa Bay for 2nd place in the AL East. Cody Ross followed up his extra innings walkoff HR in the Sox last game by blasting a 2-run HR to LF in the top of the 2nd to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead. The Rays tied the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a 2-run HR by Desmond Jennings. Mike Aviles put the Red Sox back on top with a solo HR to make it 3-2. Jon Lester had allowed just 3 hits through 6 innings as we would head to the 7th inning with Boston leading 3-2. Price and Lester both pitched scoreless innings with no real threats in the 7th and we would go to the 8th with the Red Sox leading 3-2. Joel Peralta relieved Price to begin the top of the 8th and gave up a leadoff single to Aviles. Jacoby Ellsbury would bunt Aviles up into scoring position with one out. Dustin Pedroia would single to LF but it was hit too hard for Aviles to score and the Sox had runners at the corners with one out. Adrian Gonzalez was up next and he hit a groundball that Carlos Pena made a fantastic diving stop on and got the out at 1st base but Aviles was able to score to make it 4-2. Will Middlebrooks bobbled a groundball for an error to begin the bottom of the 8th and Jose Molina singled to give the Rays runners at the corners with nobody out. Lester would come up huge and get a big strikeout of Desmond Jennings for the 1st out and then got Ben Zobrist to ground into an inning ending 6-4-3 double play to pitch his way out a major jam and send the game to the 9th inning with the Red Sox leading 4-2. The Red Sox got an RBI double with two outs in the top of the 9th from Brent Lillibridge for a big insurance run to make it 5-2. Jon Lester remained in the game to begin the bottom of the 9th as he was at 99 pitches thrown and got Evan Longoria to fly out for the 1st out. Carlos Pena would ground out for the 2nd out and Lester was one out away from the complete game victory. BJ Upton singled into RF to keep the Rays alive. Luke Scott was up next and Lester would finish the game off by getting Scott to ground out to Middlebrooks at 3rd for the final out as the Red Sox earn a 5-2 victory.

          * Cody Ross homered for the 2nd day in a row as he tries to turn his season around.

          * Jon Lester pitched a fantastic game and really only made one mistake pitch in the game that Desmond Jennings clobbered for a HR. Lester pitched the complete game to earn his 7th victory of the season.

                TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ TAMPA BAY RAYS
GAME #87 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Josh Beckett vs. Jeremy Hellickson)

Jacoby Ellsbury led off the game with a walk, stole second and came in to score on a sac fly by Adrian Gonzalez to give the Sox an early 1-0 lead. Tampa Bay had runners on 2nd & 3rd with two outs in the bottom fo the 3rd but Beckett blew Ben Zobrist away with 3 straight fastballs to end the inning and we would go to the 4th with the Red Sox leading 1-0. The Red Sox went to work in the top of the 4th as David Ortiz singled with one out and Will Middlebrooks drove a line drive 2-run HR to LF to give Boston a 3-0 lead. Josh Beckett sat down the Ray with a 3 pitch inning in the bottom of the 4th and the Sox had a 3-0 lead after 4 innings. Ryan Sweeney and Jacoby Ellsbury drew walks in the top of the 5th and Sweeney would come in to score on an RBI single by Gonzalez to make it 4-0. Joe Maddon removed Hellickson and brought in Wade Davis with two outs and two men on base and he would strikeout David Ortiz to end the top of the 5th. Jarrod Saltalamacchia threw out his 2nd runner stealing as he nailed Sean Rodriguez at 2nd base to end the 5th and send the game to the 6th inning with Boston leading 4-0. The Rays got on the board in the top of the 6th on an RBI single by Ben Zobrist to make it 4-1. Zobrist would then be thrown out trying to steal 2nd base as Jarrod Saltlamacchia threw out his 3rd runner of the night and the Rays were 0 for 3 in steal attempts and we would go to the 7th inning with Boston holding a 4-1 lead. Beckett imploded as Tampa Bay got back to back doubles from Carlos Pena and BJ Upton to begin the top of the 7th and cut the Boston lead to 4-2. Luke Scott followed with an RBI single to cut it to 4-3 with nobody out. Sean Rodriguez came up with one out and Beckett left a fastball up in the zone and Rodriguez belted a 2-run HR to LF to give Tampa Bay a 5-4 lead and end Becketts day as he completely fell apart in the inning. Vicente Padilla came in fromt he pen and got the final two outs to finally end the inning as the Rays storm back to take a 5-4 lead heading into the 8th inning. Cesar Ramos came in for Tampa to pitch the top of the 8th and got the 1st two outs before David Ortiz missed a game tying HR by inches as he hit one high off the wall in LF for a double. Ryan Kalish pinch ran for Ortiz and Will Middlebrooks would line a ball towards the gap but Desmond Jennings would make a great catch on the run to rob him of extra bases and end the inning with the Rays lead intact at 5-4. Padilla retired the Rays in order in the bottom of the 8th and the we would go to the top of the 9th with the Rays up 5-4. The Red Sox wold come up for their last at bat needing a run to tie off Rays closer Fernando Rodney. Jarrod Saltalamacchia struck out to begin the inning and Cody Ross would ground out as the Sox were down to their final out. Rodney got Ryan Sweeney to pop out to end the game and record the save as the Rays come back from a 4-0 deficit to win 5-4.

                * The Rays even up the series at a game each and the teams will play the rubber match tomorrow with Clay Buchholz and

                * Jarrod Saltalamcchia had a hell of a game behind the plate as he threw out 3 of 4 Rays runners trying to steal

                    TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

BOSTON RED SOX @ TAMPA BAY RAYS
GAME #88 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Clay Buchholz vs. Matt Moore)

The Rays took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st as Desmond Jennings led off with a double, stole 3rd and came in to score on a groundout by Zobrist. Boston answered back in the top of the 2nd on an RBI single by Daniel Nava who was called up before todays game. Both Clay Buchholz and Matt Moore settled into grooves and the game would remain 1-1 through 6 innings of play. The Red Sox took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 7th as Cody Ross continues his recent surge by blasting a solo HR to LF. Tampa had two men on with one out in the top of the 7th as Buchholz was over 100 pitches and running out of gas. Bobby Valentine made the move to lefty Franklin Morales to face Luke Scott and Morales would strike Scott out after a lengthy 11 pitch at bat for the 2nd out. Morales blew Matt Joyce away with a 96mph fastball to get out of the jam and the game would go to the 8th inning with Boston leading 2-1. Sean Rodriguez singled to begin the bottom of the 8th but was thrown out stealing for the 1st out. Ben Zobrist drew a two out walk off Mark Melancon to bring up Longoria and Boston would counter by going to their closer Alfredo Aceves. Longoria lined a single down the LF line to tie the game 2-2. Aceves would get Carlos Pena to ground out to end the inning and we would go to the 9th tied 2-2. The Red Sox got back to back singles with one out in the top of the 9th from Ortiz and Saltalamacchia setup runners on 1st & 2nd with one out. Joel Peralta struck out Cody Ross for the 2nd out and it would be up to Will Middlebrooks who ripped a scorching line drive that and was robbed on a leaping catch by Elliot Johnson who came into the game at SS to end the inning. Tampa Bay got back to back one out singles from Scott and Joyce in the bottom of the 9th to put the winning run in scoring position. Elliot Johnson was up next and he swung at the 1st pitch from Aceves and flared it softly into LF for a base hit as Luke Scott came in with the winning run as the Rays walkoff with a 3-2 victory.

                    * The Red Sox lose 2 out of 3 to the Rays and will return home for a 4 game series with the Chicago White Sox.

                    * Carl Crawford will make his 2012 debut in the Red Sox next game as he has missed the first 88 games of the season

                      TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

CHICAGO WHITE SOX @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #89 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Chris Sale vs Felix Doubront)

The Red Sox and White Sox begin a 4 game series at Fenway with the return of Kevin Youkilis in his 1st game at Fenway in a White Sox uniform and the return to the Sox lineup of Carl Crawford who makes his 2012 season debut. Chris Sale and Felix Doubront were sharp early as the game was scoreless after 3 innings of play. The Red Sox loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the 4th for Carl Crawford who had already singled in his 1st at bat of 2012 and Crawford would draw a bases loaded walk to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead. Sale would strikeout Mike Aviles to avoid any further damage and the game would go to the 5th inning with Boston leading 1-0. The Red Sox added to their lead in the bottom of the 5th when Adrian Gonzalez lined an RBI single down the RF line with two outs to give Boston a 2-0 lead at the end of 5 innings. Felix Doubront allowed a leadoff walk to Dayan Viciedo to begin the top of the 6th but got Paul Konerko to fly out to CF and then recorded back to back strikeouts of Kevin Youkilis and Adam Dunn to end the inning and make it 6 shutout innings as the Red Sox still had a 2-0 lead. Will Ohman relieved Sale for the bottom of the 6th and pitched a 1-2-3 inning in relief. Felix Doubront sat the White Sox down in order in the top of the 7th as he was cruising and pitching a fantastic game. The White Sox got back to back singles from Ramirez and Viciedo to give Chicago runners on 1st & 2nd with one out in the top of the 8th and that would spell the end of the day for Doubront as Scott Atchison came on in relief. Paul Konerko got into a full count and Atchison froze him with a slider on the inside corner for the 2nd out and the would bring up former Red Sox Kevin Youkilis in a huge spot with two outs. Youkilis got a good pitch to hit and drove the ball deep to RF but Cody Ross made a nice running catch to end the inning and preserve the 2-0 lead for Boston. The Red Sox went quietly in the bottom of the 8th and we would head to the 9th with Boston leading 2-0. Andrew Miller came in to begin the top fo the 9th on the mound with lefties Adam Dunn and Jordan Danks due up to begin the inning as Boston closer Alfredo Aceves was warm and ready in the pen. Adam Dunn would fly out to Ellsbury in CF for the 1st out but Jordan Danks would draw a walk after fouling off a number of pitches and Chicago would bring the tying run to the plate. Boston skipper Bobby Valentine would make the move to his closer Aceves with one out and Gordon Beckham coming up as Aceves would look to get the final two outs and record the save. Aceves got Beckham to hit a lazy fly ball to Crawford in LF for the 2nd out and the White Sox were down to their final out. Alex Rios was up next and he grounded the 1st pitch he saw sharply to Will Middlebrooks at 3rd base who fielded the ball and made the throw over to 1st for the final out as Aceves picks up the save and the Red Sox win 2-0.

                      * The Red Sox get the shutout victory as they take the opener of this 4 game series. Aaron Cook will take the mound tomorrow against Philip Humber in game two.

                      * Kevin Youkilis had a tough night in his return to Fenway Park as he went 0 for 4 with 2 K's and flew out in a huge at bat to end the top of the 8th inning with two men on base

                      * Carl Crawford looked good in his 2012 debut as he returned to the Red Sox lineup and went 1 for 2 with a walk and an RBI. The Red Sox will need Crawford to stay healthy and contribute in the 2nd half of the season if they want to make a serious run at the postseason

                      * Felix Doubront was very sharp in his 1st start since returning from the 15 day DL as he went 7.1 innings without allowing a run for his 8th win of the season.

                      * The Red Sox sent Brent Lillibridge down to AAA Pawtucket to make room for Carl Crawford on the roster.

                        TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

CHICAGO WHITE SOX @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #90 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Philip Humber vs. Aaron Cook)

The teams traded runs in the 1st inning as Orlando Hudson led off with a double and scored on a ground out by Paul Konerko. Boston responded with an RBI double by Adrian Gonzalez. White Sox starting pitcher Philip Humber left the game with an injury in the top of the 3rd and was replaced on the mound by Nathan Jones. The Red Sox would take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 2nd on an RBI single by David Ortiz who was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double to end the inning. Jarrod Saltalamacchia led off the bottom of the 4th with a solo HR to give Boston a 3-1 lead. The White Sox came back to take the lead in the top of the 5th as they tied the game at 3-3 on a 2-run bomb by Alexei Ramirez and then with runners at the corners Saltalamacchia threw a ball into CF which allowed Jordan Danks to score from 3rd base to make it 4-3. Hector Santiago pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 5th and Chicago would take a 4-3 lead into the 6th inning. Aaron Cook walked Paul Konerko to lead off the top of the 6th and that would spell the end of the day for him as Andrew Miller made his way in from the pen and got out of the inning to keep the score 4-3. Brian Bruney pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th and the game would go to the 8th inning with the White Sox leading 4-3. The White Sox had runners at the corners with one out for Adam Dunn in the top of the 8th but Scott Atchison would come up with a huge strikeout as he got Dunn to chase a nasty curveball for the 2nd out. Atchison would get AJ Pierzynski to ground out to end the threat and keep the score at 4-3. Jesse Crain would take over on the mound for Chicago to begin the bottom of the 8th and Nick Punto would double to leadoff the iinning and give Boston the tying run in scoring position with nobody out. Jacoby Ellsbury laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Punto up to 3rd with one out. Dustin Pedroia was up next and he hit a groundball to Hudson at 2nd base who came home with the ball to nail Punto at the plate for the 2nd out. Crain would get a huge strikeout of David Ortiz to end the inning as the Red Sox blow a golden opportunity and we would head to the 9th inning with Chicago leading 4-3. Atchison retired the White Sox in order in the top of the 9th and the Red Sox would head to the bottom of the 9th trailing by a run 4-3. Chicago closer Addison Reed would make his way in looking to record the save. Adrian Gonzalez drew a 4 pitch walk to begin the bottom of the 9th. Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit into a fielders choice as they only had one play at 2nd base for the 1st out. Will Middlebrooks was up next and he lined a single into CF as Saltalamacchia raced to 3rd to give Boston runners at the corners with one out. Carl Crawford was up next and he was able to lift a fly ball to deep LF that was caught by Viciedo and Saltalamacchia would tag and score from 3rd base to tie the game at 4-4 as Reed blows the save. Ryan Sweeney flew out to end the inning and the game would head to extra innings. Chicago had a man on 2nd base with two outs in the top of the 10th and Vicente Padilla would come in to face Youkilis and he struck out Youkilis to get out of the jam. Nick Punto singled off Matt Thornton to lead off the bottom of the 10th and moved up into scoring position on a sac bunt by Ellsbury. Dustin Pedroia grounded out for the 2nd out and it would be up to David Ortiz but he would fly out to deep CF for the final out and the game would move on to the 11th inning. The White Sox had two men on with one out in the top of the 11th but Padilla would bounce back to get the final two outs and keep the game tied 4-4. The Red Sox got back to back singles from Gonzalez and Saltalamacchia to begin the bottom of the 11th and Mike Aviles would pinch run for Gonzalez. Will Middlebrooks bunted the runners up to 2nd & 3rd with one out. The White Sox decided to pitch to Carl Crawford and after a grueling 10 pitch at bat Crawford hit a groundball up the middle that was fielded by Orlando Hudson who came up throwing to the plate but Aviles was able to just beat the tag for the winning run as the Red Sox win 5-4 in thrilling fashion in 11 innings.....
                        WHAT A GAME!!!

                        * The Red Sox win 5-4 in extra innings as they have taken the 1st two games of the series. Boston will send Jon Lester to the mound tomorrow against John Danks for Chicago

                        * The Red Sox bullpen was outstanding as they combined for 6 shutout innings of work to allow the Sox to come back and tie the game in the 9th and then win it in the 11th inning.

                        * Carl Crawford was playing in just his 2nd game of the season and he had the game tying RBI with a sac fly in the 9th and then picked up the game winning RBI with an infield single in the 11th.

                        * Chicago starter Philip Humber left the game in the 3rd inning with an injury and will only miss a few days with a Strained Oblique

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Well, I leave tomorrow for the beach for a week so I will unfortunately have to put the game down. Going from my memory, here is how I sit playing on All Star with everything identical to your sliders except human pitching, because that was not working for me, lol.

The Mets are 17-14, second place in the NL East behind the Phillies, who are sitting at 22-9. The Dodgers and Giants are both tied for first in the West at 18-11, so I'm only a couple games out of the wild card.

As a team, we are batting .266, which is great. That's good for 6th in the MLB. The Mets are 19th in homeruns but are first, yes first, in runs scored in the NL with the Phillies right on their tail and third in the majors . They are hitting the ball with runners in scoring position and manufacturing runs as opposed to living and dying by the long ball. Defensively, the Mets are weak as they have committed enough errors to rank them 22nd, and even worse, sport a 4.56 ERA which is 29th in the majors, only behind Houston and Minnesota. I'm going to have to do something about the pitching, SPECIFICALLY the bullpen. I'm sure, by far, we have the worst bullpen in the league. We have the fifth most saves in the league but also are 23rd when it comes to blown save. The only somewhat consistent pitcher in the bullpen has been Bobby Parnell, with a 3.38. I just made him the closer.

I put Frank Francisco on the trading block AND dropped him to AAA, along with John Rauch and Ramon Ramirez may soon follow to bring Acosta back up. I just can't find any consistency out of my bullpen. My bullpen currently consists of Miguel Batista, who just gave up 4 ER last outing to jack his ERA up to 6, John Niese (because in the first month he could not find the strike zone), Pedro Beato, DJ Carrasco (both of them I just brought up and they doing well), Ramon Ramirez, Tim Byrdak (who is so sketchy, don't know what to expect with him), and Bobby Parnell. I brought up Familia to take Niese's spot in the rotation because he was tearing up AAA but I don't think he is ready for the MLB after 2 starts so I'm bringing up Chris Young who will make his first start next week. I'm going to have make some type of move for the bullpen, for sure. I'll think about it on the beach

Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

I love these sliders, don't get me wrong. But i know how to set up battes but I never ever seem to get them to chase something like an outside slider or a low curveball or whatever breaking ball. My couple of strikeouts per game usually only come from fastballs. Only on very rare occasions can i get them to swing and miss on a great off speed pitch. Any way to make that any better for me? I'm not inclining that there's anything wrong with the sliders because it obviously doesn't happen to you as much as it does to me. For the record, I don't want to lower the opponent averages or whatever. I just wanna raise their strikeouts.

I would appreciate it if you could help me out with this. Thx mate, VD.

                              TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

CHICAGO WHITE SOX @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #91 of the season (Pitching Matchup - John Danks vs. Jon Lester)

The Red Sox and White Sox play the 3rd game of this 4 game series with a battle of lefties on the mound as John Danks takes on Jon Lester. The game was scoreless in the top of the 4th when the White Sox loaded the bases with two outs but Lester would get Eduardo Escobar to ground out to end the inning and keep the score 0-0. John Danks was also sharp early and the game was tied 0-0 heading into the 5th inning. Paul Konerko gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead with a solo HR in the top of the 6th. Kevin Youkilis was up next and he made it back to back HRs as he crushed a fastball from Lester ove the green monster to make it 2-0. Danks pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 6th and we would go to the 7th inning with the White Sox leading 2-0. Lester picked up his 9th K of the game to end the top of the 7th and keep the score 2-0. Danks retired the side in order again in the bottom of the 7th and he was getting better as the game went on and we would head to the 8th inning with Chicago leading 2-0. Jon Lester finished his night of work by pitching a 1-2-3 top of the 8th to keep the Red Sox in the game. Danks made it 11 straight Red Sox he has retired with another perfect inning in the bottom of the 8th and the game would go to the 9th inning with the White Sox on top 2-0. Mark Melancon relieved Lester for the top of the 9th and he pitched a 1-2-3 inning to send it to the bottom of the 9th with the White Sox leading 2-0. The Red Sox came up in the bottom of the 9th for their last at bat and had the top of the order coming up needing two runs to tie. Danks remained in the game looking to finish off the complete game shutout but he would walk Jacoby Ellsbury to leadoff the inning and White Sox manager Robin Ventura would bring in Matt Thornton from the bullpen with the tying run coming up and nobody out. Thornton would strike out Pedroia for the 1st out but Jacoby Ellsbury would steal 2nd base to move into scoring position and take away the double play possibility. Jesse Crain would relieve Thornton after just one batter and David Ortiz would line an RBI single into CF to make it a one run game at 2-1. Ryan Sweeney would come in to run for Ortiz and White Sox closer Addison Reed would come in to face Adrian Gonzalez with the tying run on base and one out. Reed blew the save for the 2nd straight day as Gonzalez crushed a ball over the head of De Aza in CF to score Sweeney and tie the game at 2-2, the throw home would bounce away from Tyler Flowers allowing Gonzalez to scamper up to 3rd base and the Red Sox would have the winning run on 3rd with just one out. Nick Punto would come on as a pinch runner for Gonzalez with Cody Ross coming to the plate. Reed had Cody Ross in a 1 & 2 count when he bounced a fastball in the dirt that got past Flowers and Punto raced home from 3rd and just beat Flowers throw to Reed covering the plate as the Red Sox score 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th and win it 3-2 on a passed ball for their 2nd straight walkoff win in as many days........WHAT A GAME AND WHAT A CRAZY ENDING!!!!!

                              * The Red Sox have taken the first 3 games of the series and look to complete the 4 game sweep tomorrow with Josh Beckett on the mound against Jake Peavy for Chicago.

                              * This was an amazing game that featured a great pitchers duel until the Chicago bullpen imploded for the 2nd straight day.

                              * John Danks was outstanding and Robin Ventura will be second guessed for lifting his starter with a complete game shutout after walking the leadoff batter in the bottom of the 9th.

                              * Jon Lester was excellent for Boston as he went 8 innings and struck out 10. Lester made 2 mistakes in the top of the 6th and they were both crushed for solo HR by Konerko and Youkilis.

                              * The Red Sox have some key players in major slumps over their last 10 games.
                              • Jacoby Ellsbury is hitting .125 in his last 10 games with 0 HR and 1 RBI
                              • Dustin Pedroia is hitting .133 in his last 10 games with 0 HR and 4 RBI
                              • Will Middlebrooks is hitting .135 in his last 10 games with 1 HR and 5 RBI
                              • Cody Ross is hitting .171 in his last 10 games but has hit 3 HR and 5 RBI

                                TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

CHICAGO WHITE SOX @ BOSTON RED SOX
GAME #92 of the season (Pitching Matchup - Jake Peavy vs. Josh Beckett)

The Red Sox will send Josh Beckett to the hill against Jake Peav as Boston looks to complete the 4 game sweep of the White Sox. Adrian Gonzalez gave the Red Sox a 1-0 lead with a 433 foot solo HR over the bullpens in RF leading off the top of the 2nd inning. Josh Beckett struck out Paul Konerko with runners on 2nd & 3rd to end the top of the 3rd and keep Chicago off the board. Boston had runners at the corners with one out in the bottom of the 3rd and Peavy would get David Ortiz to pop out for the 2nd out of the inning and then got Adrian Gonzalez to fly out to work out of trouble and we would go to the 4th inning with Boston leading 1-0. David Ortiz extended the Boston lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th with a solo HR. Chicago had runners at 2nd & 3rd with two outs in the top of the 6th but Beckett would pickup his 8th K of the night as he froze Jordan Danks with a filthy two seamer that darted back over the plate to get out of the jam and keep the score 2-0. The White Sox had runners at the corners with one out in the top of the 7th when Alexei Ramirez hit a sac fly to RF to score Beckham from 3rd and make it 2-1. Beckett remained in the game one batter too long as Paul Konerko was up next and he blasted a two run HR to LF to put Chicago ahead 3-2. Matt Albers replaced Beckett and got Youkilis to fly out to end the inning with Chicago leading 3-2. Peavy was getting stronger as the game went on and pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7th to send the game to the 8th inning with the White Sox up 3-2. The White Sox kept coming in the top of the 8th as they went to work on Franklin Morales as Dunn and Pierzynski led off with singles and then Gordon Beckham launched a 3-run HR into the moster seats to make it 6-2. Chicago added a run on an RBI single by Adam Dunn in the top of the 9th to extend their lead to 7-2. Boston got a run on a Mike Aviles RBI double in the bottom of the 9th but their would be no late game magic tonight as Brian Bruney finished it off on the mound for the White Sox who avoid the four game sweep with a 7-3 victory.

                                * The Red Sox lose but take 3 out of 4 from the White Sox. Boston had a 2-0 lead in the 7th before Chicago exploded for 7 runs late in the game.

                                * Cody Ross broke out of his slump going 3 for 4 with a double and two singles

                                * The Red Sox will begin a 3 game series at Fenway with the Toronto Blue Jays tomorrow. Clay Buchholz will start the opener against Brandon Morrow for Toronto
