Re: MLB 12 CPU VS CPU Sliders

Let's try and not argue about who's slider set is best. Let's just enjoy whatever set you want to use. I'm happy with these and these will be the one's I use all year.

I'm in the midst of a great game!

Braves vs Marlins. Josh Johnson dominated my team for 7 shutout innings. It was 3-0 going into the 8th and I finally got to him for 2 runs. I added another run off a reliever and the game is now in extra innings.

Hope I can pull it out! Running short on relievers though!!!

Re: MLB 12 CPU VS CPU Sliders

Freeman comes up with the bases loaded and delievers in the 13th!!! Then Ross singles and Byrd homers.

      9-3 Braves

      What a great game!!!!

Then you aren't gonna believe this but as I was exiting the game the game froze! You gotta be kidding me!!! Sigh!!!!

        Just my two cents here:

Dark, your slider adjustments look sound. I can't say I disagree with any of them when I think of how the game "feels" too. You have a keen eye for baseball and I like what you've done. The baseball fan in me wants to see Franchise updates in here!

But, you need to understand that a lot of us on OS; those whom have been here a while, research the Devs explanations of the inner workings of this game. And in turn, we share that knowledge with people that want the answers to the same questions we had. And...

I've seen people get banned for vigorously defending falsehoods.

Brian, Ramone, Woodweaver, Lorne, etc; have no incentive to spread false information about their product. And I understand that someone that hadn't heard a Dev say difficulty doesn't matter in CPU games thinking that it would. But we read a programmer say otherwise. And that's okay, you didn't know. But since we read it, Nomo was simply saying that (A) Hey man, nice set, but this isn't true and (B) if it IS TRUE, it's a HUGE glitch and needs to be patched.

I agree. If it's true, it needs to be fixed. So Nomo's testing it.

Wouldn't you agree too? Because if it does, SCEA would want the data so it could be properly corrected.

Re: MLB 12 CPU VS CPU Sliders

Hey, I am not spreading any falsehoods to anyone. I am just enjoying a baseball sim. Unless you designed the game yourself you just don't know. Even designers do not know things or there would be no need for patches. Glitch or not. This is my thread and I will say what I feel and see. Your opinion is not law. If that gets me banned then I don't want to be on here anyway. If someone wants to use what I have here they are welcome and if they don't then that is ok too. I am not here to disagree with you or Nomo. You can express your views on your thread and I will express mine here. This is why we can have different threads. I am not looking for any other comments from you or Nomo as this is for people that actually try the sliders the way I have them. I know they work. Not that you are bad guys or I have any bad feelings but I am now done with this and just want to concentrate on enjoying the game now. I stand behind what I have and it works. I could go into more detail on why that is but I don't feel it is necessary. So if I am blind to the so called "facts" then let me be. At least I am having a good time!

I re-read my post and I think it sounded more argumentative than I intended.

I will back out of this thread since you requested it.

Right, I'll back out as well out of respect.

One thing I'd like to make clear before I leave is that I never meant to criticize your slider set per se. It's pretty good as is and I have absolutely no doubt it plays a great sim game.

I just made some comments on how there are some misinformation, and also responded when you appeared to discount the efforts by other CPU guys in the beginning of this thread.

There are always things that we are not sure because not everything is revealed by the devs and they also make mistakes sometimes (totally understandable), but for those which have been made clear, then I just have no reason not to go by it. And seeing a lot of people getting confused about which settings affect what and waste time (as I did last year, since there are always more misinformation than good information on the web), I just have no reason to try to indicate them as I see, since it only takes a few keystrokes to do/search for clarification... and it's a forum to share information.

That's the only thing I meant to do. Sorry it didn't work out!

              Have fun with your game!

The last couple of games I've seen managers leave their starters in too long. I wonder if it should go back to default. Bumgarner threw close to 150 pitches and Westbrook just threw 120 vs me in a complete game shutout.

                    Thoughts?

Hey braves fan...I haven't had that issue with the starters. But that doesn't mean it's not there. I would suggest lowering the starter stamina to default 5 to avoid that. The most pitches I had seen a pitcher throw was 120. But yeah 150 is too much. I will adjust the starter stamina to 5 on the first page.

You would change starter stamina and not manager hook?

The last couple of days I've pushed manager hook back to default and been getting better results.

Reason I think it might be better to change the manager hook instead of starter stamina is because in the game I'm referring too the CPU's pitcher was already out of energy but the CPU just left him out there.

I made that adjustment. Left pitcher stamina 6 and put mgr hook to 5. Braves fan what did you get for doubles and triple. Just curious.

I'm currently in the midst of a 9 game losing streak, not sure what the problem is!
