What is the thought process with auto field - smoother animations, letting ratings come into play, or not a fan of fielding?

I personally prefer it. I get no added enjoyment out of running to a fly ball myself compared to watching the CPU making a diving catch for me. I also enjoy MoM and I'd assume for those that hate that mode they also frown apon auto fielding

I am horrible at fielding and do no want my lack of skills to overly negatively impact the game. I can hit, I can pitch effectively, but I never got the hang of fielding. I do control the throws, but I don't want to log 5-8 errors per game because of my ineptitude...or not be able to get to balls that should be routine outs.

Auto fielding is awesome...for me.

Played my opening day with this set and OSFM tonight, and like Armor said, I love where this set is.

I managed to rally in the 8th behind 3 runs to beat the Giants, and everything just felt authentic.

Also, for anyone who loves to have all the player faces without the MLB pictures, remember to use the fantasy draft trick to make sure everyone has the Show Portrait on there.

I got all of my runs in the 5th and the Twins go all of theirs in the 6th. Both starters went 5.1 innings. Felt like it played pretty well, will have to be using this set from now on.

If anything, just the opposite. I made a post about a little ways back. I'm averaging one error about every other game and the CPU just made their first error in 10+ games against me.

My last two Spring Training games:



Billy Butler had 2 HRs, including a walkoff in the ninth in the second game.

Great variety, the only thing that may need a slight tweak is errors... I've had at least one in every game so far. Have to keep my eye on that.

I love auto baserunning and I tried auto fielding and its just not the same for me interaction wise as Im pretty good at it but visually and stat wise I understand why many use it .
See using auto baserunning allow me to enjoy the game more and not worry about controlling multiple runners but not controlling the fielders feels to much like Im not playing and more just watching ...
PS I tried the last changes and Hu pitching is now more of a challenge for me as I lost 3-0 as the Cubs vs Bucs

Really loving the Hybrid sliders with my new OSFM franchise! Seeing a lot of different scores in my games and I have to say I'm really enjoying the auto fielding with the broadcast views to go along with the behind the pitcher camera while pitching. I see myself getting through a season or two for sure this year!

These sliders just get better and better every game.
I've never enjoyed this game as much as I do right now. The hybrid hitting sliders take away the frustrations at the plate but not to the point where I can just pound away at the CPU pitchers.
