Im seeing this as well, i saw it a lot on default sliders too, so as i said above, as with wild pitches, i just think its a game issue sliders will struggle to fix.

You are absolutely right with CPU Strike Frequency, any lower than 2 and it affects the strike/ball ratio badly, skews it beyond realism.

Glad you are enjoying, thanks for all the comments fellas, please keep the feedback coming

Just had a great game with these sliders

I picked the Dodgers vs Nationals we went to the 10th inning tied 3-3 Kemp hits a 2 run walk off shot

I'm having a little trouble with my 3rd starter which is Edwin Jackson. Not a bad pitcher but getting lit up pretty bad.

I've been using meter pitching, but I'm thinking about switching to classic or pulse. On meter pitching, I can't seem to get my timing down all the time.

Matt Garza, the ace of the cubs pitching staff, I'm having good luck with him.

Just wanted to know anybody's thoughts on this. I'm a newbie, this is my first year to play the show.

Is pulse pitching easier than meter? Or should I try classic?

            I'm playing on all-star level.

How many starts have you made with him? There's gonna be slumps in thus game with both hitters and pitchers.

But to answer your question if you're having pitching trouble and using the Cubs I wouldn't suggest switching to classic.

I've made about 5 starts with him. I will try some more with meter pitching. I'm glad you said there will be slumps. Because the last 5 games, I haven't hit that well either. I've heard pulse pitching is difficult, but much improved this year. (so I've heard)

When you get the hang of pulse pitching, Is it better than meter? as far as,
                difficulty.

I've tried classic on the demo '11, but the ball seems to go all over the place.

I'm not playing any game modes yet, just exhibition games. Thanks for your input.

Yeah there will definitely be some slumps when it comes to the hitting side of things. I would say pulse is easier once you get the hang of it, but that's really only because to me because there's just one part to pulse as opposed to two parts with meter.

Do you call your own pitches or follow the catcher? If you don't follow the catcher try that some with him. This is the only way I pitch as I feel it gives me good varied results each time out, and keeps me from getting to repetitive.

I have shouted from the rooftops the virtues of Classic Pitching.

Nearly everyone who gives it a trial stays with it. It is not necessarily easier than other forms. It is harder in that it takes user input out of the equation.

No better feeling in the world than intending to bury a change up in the dirt, only to have it drift over the plate because your pitcher was tired or because his accuracy wasn't so great.

I saw in another thread, that you were singing the praises of Classic Pitching. Does how long you hold the pitch button factor in at all? Or is it just "tap it" or "hold it down until it vibrates" kind of thing?

According to the description, tapping the button means more accuracy while holding it means more effort.

I also believe there are gradations in between but I'm not a developer so I can't swear by it.

I really don't think there is a great difference when throwing a fb. I've tested it for years and I achieve the same top speed with tapping as with holding it longer.

On breaking pitches though, I feel I do see a big difference. Really, it's all about feel.

You have to pitch with Classic over a period of time and with a variety of pitchers with varying skill set to see the beauty in it.

For what it's worth, I have my pitching accuracy and consistency at 4.

Having more good games, can't say enough about how I am hitting with these sliders. Mets vs Orioles Bundy vs Harvey on,y had one k with Bundy but game before I had 11 with Lee so once again ratings and you can just feel when a SP has it and when he doesn't. Won 4-2 even got a intentional walk with the bases loaded , walked Wieters to get to Jones who was 0-4, never saw the Show do that. Can't tell you how much more fun this game is when you can hit.

HighCmpPct, thanks for the suggestion on following the catcher. I pitched 8-1/3 innings with only giving up 2 runs. I know it's a small sample size, but it does mix up the pitches and location a lot.

Yeah it's the only way to pitch to me. Maybe that comes from my high school/minors pitching days lol. But it really helps the immersion factor for me, kinda feel like I'm pitching again and mostly following my catcher....unless I just really wanna try to blow by a FB.

Hey HighCmpPct, is there a way to have the catcher set up automatically on all-star. I know on veteran it does. Or do you have to press the R2 button? Not a big deal...Just wandering if there is a way..
