Switched to Hall of Fame pitching 3 games ago and loving it. Only change I made was to bump CPU timing down a notch as I was seeing a few too many line shots on good pitches and didn't want to drop solid hits for the computer. I also play on veteran + hitting as I am not the greatest there so I go dynamic and always end up in this range as my sweet spot.
Last game I played was a classic with the Rockies visiting the Cubs (me) at Wrigley.
Arrieta pitched great going 8 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 11 strikeouts. I hung a curveball to Cargo in the 1st and he took it deep for a 2 run bomb and that is what I love about these sliders on HOF. You get punished for making a mistake to a good hitter.
Despite the great outing Arrieta left trailing 2-0 as De la Rosa was matching him giving up 5 hits, 0 walks and 6 strikeouts going into the 9th. In the top of the 9th Strop had one of his semi-frequent meltdowns and gave up 2 more, so 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the 9th. I was able to plate a run and chase De la Rosa with 2 straight hits. McGee came in and recorded an out after giving up another hit and a walk. I then strung 2 hits and another walk together, with Jason Heyward smacking a 2 RBI walk off single to right field and the Cubbies win 5-4. I don't think I have ever come back from a 4 run deficit in the 9th, definitely one of the most exciting finishes I have ever had with The Show.
Great job on these sliders!
