Pretty much. I have been using Classic since MLB 07. Best way to pitch in the game in my opinion. They introduced something new with Classic this year. When you select your pitch you can now push the same button as the pitch to throw it.

Try it out and see what you think.

You can also hold down the button to make your pitches have more velocity and break to them but they won't be as accurate.

thanks for the info I am definetly going to try the classic pitching.

Armr I have another question for you if you hit x with a power hitter like rizzo or bryant will they still hit homers or do you need the power swing to hit homers with them?

I never use the power button, and I hit a good number of HRs

I don't understand how these sliders could be used of All-Star OR Hall of Fame pitching.

I rarely if ever use the square button. Usually 3-0 or 3-1 with a big time HR hitter but even then not often at all.

Also check out the Classic pitching thread I have on the OP it has a ton of great information on the art of Classic Pitching

Did they remove the ability for the catcher to show you the location of where to pitch the ball? I can get him to tell me what type of pitch, but I can't seem to find out how to get him to reveal the location.

Anyway I finished season 1, in which I got called up to the majors just after All Star break. I struggled mightily at the plate early on hitting under .100 for a while but eventually got better towards the end of the year and finished hitting just under .220 I think (still not great I know) with 8 HR's in about 65 games. We (Yankees) won the AL East and so I get some playoff action as a Rookie

We are up against the Mariners in the ALDS and so far I've played game 1 and stopped for now cuz I had to post about it lol. It was a matchup of 21 win King Felix and 2015 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Masahiro Tanaka so a real matchup of aces.

I come up to the plate in bottom of 2nd and after taking first 2 pitches out of zone I got a FB almost right down the middle and hit a HR into the bullpen in right centerfield and I was buzzing lol. After a single in my 2nd at bat I was very happy. Then in my 3rd at bat in the 5th inning I saw a high FB first pitch and hit another HR to almost the exact same spot in the bullpen lol. I literally jumped out of my seat lol. Sadly I only popped out in my final at bat but we won 4-2, I went 3 for 4 with 2 HR's and all 4 of my teams RBI's. It seems my player is made for the postseason lol.

My best performance at the plate so far comes in my first playoff game unreal! I was getting pretty down and frustrated earlier in the season but after sticking with the sliders and settings through the struggles and seeing the rewards now I almost feel like I presume some players do in real life when everything finally seems to click into place. It's been a true experience of the lows and highs of baseball and I'm sure they'll be more to come soon lol

Sorry for the long post. But I just had to share my feelings at this time. Hope I managed to get across the point that I'm loving this game and your guys settings only enhance the experience
So I finally got around to playing game 2 just now in this series and this confirms my player is just made for the playoffs. I went 2-4 with another HR and 3 RBI's.

The HR was a walk off 3 run shot off of Fernando Rodney in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out on a 2-0 count! Another moment which got me out of my seat celebrating lol. I love this game!

Once again Armor great sliders this year. Played about 20 quick count games in franchise mode. The only changes I've made are the following.

                          Fastball pitch speed 5
Pickoffs 6(enjoy seeing the cpu throw over)
Infield throwing and fielding errors back to 5(wasn't seeing any errors)

I'm also testing fielder run speed at 1 and 2.
Even with it lowered to 3 I still noticed outfielders getting to hits down the line and balls in the gap too quickly. It's making it hard to get doubles with slower players.

                            Hey Armor,
Just curious as to why you prefer Auto fielding?
I'm trying it out, I will say it looks great, like watching a game on TV, but seems to be missing the whole experience of the game at the same time. I know I can just switch to assisted fielding.

You only have two fielding settings. Assisted and auto. I play a lot of Diamond Dynasty and I agree that fielding is a blast. It is the best it has ever been and I am quite good at it as well. However when it comes to offline play and franchise I love player ratings to be the primary driver in my statistical results. So I use auto fielding.

But I make all the throws to keep me involved. It's a fun approach because you really will make defensive decisions in building your teams as well. It's a personal preference.

The sliders will work great if you manual field as well and the ratings will come out in that regard too. I am using manual (assisted) fielding in my fantasy Marlins Franchise as that for me a fun casual chise. Where as classic season replays and my proper 2016 Yankees chise are my statistical hard core play every inning every pitch chise.

You know, I've come to the conclusion that auto fielding and auto throwing is best for me. Allows me to pitch and see it play out. I don't have to worry about losing sight of the ball, I can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful game.

IMO, the reason I do this, is because fielding, you run to a circle on a fly ball, you get assisted the whole time on a ground ball. It's really not losing experience of a game. Same for throwing, you push a button and that's it. I get the same errors on auto fielding/throwing as if I went through the motions.

Might not work for most, but damn is it fun and looks great.
