That is definitely some form of anomaly. I have not seen such behavior bringing in pitchers from the pen.

Anybody else have any feedback on this?

Fenway, decided to give your sliders another shot & vowed to play at least 10 games (2 times through the rotation) using the HOF pitching sliders. After just 9 games, I HATED the sliders... Still TOO damn easy!

Anyway, I loaded game 10 but forgot to switch to my normal "generated pitch count", made every pitch & had a GREAT game. I took a day away from the show & restarted the exact same test franchise using the exact same team, replaying the exact same games but NOT using "generated pitch counts" & the game has played completely different... In a good way. Not sure if this is a fluke or If making & taking every pitch makes this much difference but this game has come to life!!!

A little late in the season to be starting a new franchise while making EVERY pitch, but the numbers are there... Some of us may need to simply slow down & enjoy this game with these sliders...

      Bravo, sir!!!

Nonsense too late! Lol, while I'm still finishing my Nat's chise with my sliders I've also just started a new chise with Boston using Mike Lowe's set as i was ready to try and get my hitting on par with my HoF pitching.

Been playing every game with quick counts with the Nat's but playing every pitch with Boston, with carry over saves it's never too late! Not using quick counts though makes it a completely different game. Honestly I believe to use quick counts completely different sliders will need to be used going forward as it really does make that much of a difference.

Great to hear. This is my first year releasing sliders and there were a ton of variables that I never even thought to include (not using pitch counts, for one). I am still learning how to best communicate how these are to be used, but essentially I play the entire game, all pitches, all at bats, franchise, and zone hitting.

Haha, HCP & you're right. Even after 3 straight seasons stuck in "slider purgatory... it's never too late to start up & sustain a franchise. Will be playing a larger role in slider testing for you guys next season, too.

Played SO many games this year, experimenting & getting frustrated with various slider sets again this season. Can't believe I overlooked something so glaringly obvious as you & Fenway (TNK too) don't use "quick counts". Wouldn't have thought this would make such a big difference? It clearly does for ME anyway.

Not sure if it's the "quick count" option OR me statagizing differently while facing 0-0, 1-0 & 2-0 counts for the 1st time? but WOW... Feel like I may owe a few slider makers apologies for not applying their sliders/settings accurately & being a bit critical

I mean honestly I love quick counts, but personally in my opinion it makes pitching way easier and hitting a good bit more difficult. Ironically it does this for the same reason.

Quick counts is a fantastic option to speed up a season or if you don't have time for the whole game that day. But again like I said I believe there are certain slider tweaks that need to be made to what ever base set you use to get the most out of it.

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders

Just played an amazing 19 inning walk off winner in KC which included a few comeback rallies to keep me in it. Ditching "quick counts" & using the HOF pitching sliders has really produced some great games!

My only controllable GRIPE (may be a strong word) is user K's while batting... 19 innings, 68 AB's & 1 user K? My only NON controllable gripe (not a strong enough word) was the usage of the AI's bullpen which plagues the series without enough righty/lefty bullpen management (per Mike Lowe...)

Again, the numbers are there & I'm happy the numbers can be reached w/o ditching the METER pitching mechanic. To your credit, think you've maximized AS level with this slider set. HOF may be needed however to simply shrink the PCI IMO...

Yeah, the user k's and walks allowed are two points that I want to work with my next season's set. I am not certain that a smaller PCI is really going to make a difference though. If you are used to hitting zone, then the chance of you getting even a piece of that cursor on the ball is pretty good. My prediction is just more pop up and weak hits. Timing might play a factor...or maybe pitch speed. These are sliders I will work with. Honestly though, as long as my balls in play result in the proper percentage of outs vs hits, I am not too terribly concerned with HOW I got out. I know some people are though.

Walks allowed is another that I think needs tweaking. Just fiddling with pitch control and accuracy oughta do the trick there.

CPU bullpen is outta my hands!

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders

Just played my first game with your slider, first game in months too, been busy with roster crap and kids, so last night I decided to take a break and play a random game, my Jays against the Orioles. I'll have to say it was actually the most fun game I've had in a long time, intense at the end too.

Only adjust I made was both pitching stamina at 0 (wanted to see how it plays in game as its best for Sim to reduce complete games)

So yeah I lost 6-5 in bottom 9th, first batter a walk off homerun by no one other than J.J. Hardy with his lack of power. I was up 4-1 by various hits. The 4th run was actually by 2 steals by Upton Jr., then a wild pitch where the ball basically stayed around the batter box, Upton somehow beat the tag as the catcher had plenty of time. That was insanity lol (auto baserunning)

Was in cruise control till maybe 5th inning where I ended up loading up the base for Joey Rickard (another weak power hitter) and yep he hit a grand slam to put them on top of me. I managed to get a runner around in the 9th before the walk off homerun

So yeah I got beaten by a couple hitters with lack of power along with Pearce. (End of season roster so he's still with the Orioles).

My hitting was 6 singles, 3 doubles (a couple actually went over outfielder's head by the wall), 1 homeruns while they had 3 home runs, maybe a double and the rest singles.

It was actually a lot of fun! Definitely gonna be using this when I play again up till the MLBTS 17.

Re: FenwayMac Variety Hitting and Scoring Sliders

Just found these and can't wait to try them with the Blue Jays tonight. Playing the mess out of this game again in anticipation for 2017. I have been using default setting and I agree with the original post. My batting averages are low but I am hitting 2 or 3 home runs a game at least and everything else is singles. Now I know that my power numbers will probably be higher than average (EE, Joey Bats, JoDo, Tulo, etc.) but just looking to try to finally get some more rallies and not score ALL my runs on homeruns. I play using pulse pitching on Legend difficulty and zone on Hall of Fame so I am excited to see how these work out. Will keep you posted!

I just started a new franchise with these and they are amazing HOWEVER I am having one issue

I play on hitting and pitching all star. Seems the only way the computer team scores on me in the long ball. No rbi singles, doubles, etc. Those are very rare at this point. Anything I can change to help this?

                            Thanks in advance,
Hey man. Thanks for checking out the sliders. I am in off-season and having to review my own posts. You've got me working!

From my sliders for CPU the first thing I would do is check your level. The set was mainly designed for All-Star with tweaks noted for HOF junkies. The second thing to consider is sample size. Make sure you get in a good 20-30 games to see if the CPU mellows out due to fatigue or simply having more at-bats factored in.

See if that helps and let me know. In the meantime I will definitely be throwing my sliders in the ring this year and will start prepping a plan for rollout.

Hey all. Welcome to MLB 2017!

I am definitely excited about playing the game this season and I definitely will be working to release a set again this year. My work schedule is a bit demanding this year, so I am putting the call out for one (or more) people that would be interested in testing slider sets? The idea would be to nail down some sliders prior to the full minors roster release.

Any takers? PM for details! Thank you.
