Set up a CPU profile with everything set to auto. Lineups all the way down the mode specific list. When you select all, then go to the team you want to control and switch (R stick left or right) that team to your profile. Continue to the franchise as normal. Once you are in your franchise (what I did) go to the last tab and change it to default your profile. Nothing will change on the CPU side of it. With the cpu on auto, it will play as if you are playing a single team. It will allow you though to go in and change things if you want throughout the whole franchise. Control as little or as much as you want with the other teams. Like I said, all I control is making sure that the teams have 5 SP in the rotation after a injury. Other then that, I let whatever trades happen, whatever lineups line up, scouting, drafting, more or less anything outside my team go. As for checking every team, every day, after I finish a day, I go look at the completed transactions from the day and see who was injured if any. Then I go to that team and make sure they brought up/subbed the correct guy. IE: 5 starting pitchers are in the starting rotation.
Oh, also before you play your game, make sure you sim all the days game so the ticker appears at the bottom during your game if you like seeing it.

Not dumb. No worries. I created a new profile (named: CPU) copied off my play profile. Then went into mode specific and turned everything franchise related to auto.

Ok, (i apologize as I am not on the ps4 atm) go to the last tab (user settings I believe), in the bottom right I believe, you go in and set your profile. Option should be: use as default, rename, CREATE NEW, delete, something. Create new, then it should ask if you want to model your existing profile. Yes, then rename it CPU. Then in user settings in (again I believe) bottom left, it should say mode specific. Oh, make sure you are on CPU profile. When you go into mode specific, go to lineup/rotations and down to the bottom changing everything to auto.

Your memory is pretty good!! I couldn't find where to change the name of profile so I left it as custom 3. So I selected all teams and changed every team to custom 3 except for my Yankees. Am I ready to start playing now? Thanks very much for taking the time to help me.

Well the name isn't really important, as long as you know it's the cpu controlled team.
Ya, you should hit x and advance. When you get to the 3 tile screen it should all be auto manage. Then you should be at the ST or reg season option and you should be set from there.

Oh, make sure in the franchise, you go to the option screen and make your profile the default profile.

I don't remember what tile 3 was. That is how I did mine. You can do yours to suit your needs on how much control you want over the other teams. I had everyring on auto but I only want to make sure the other teams have certain postions filled correctly. With everything on auto, I can still accomplish that. Tile 3 is GM duties like hire and fire staff, 40-man roster, roster moves (which is why I thought I needed this to be manual), free agency, trades, waiver transactions and contracts. I prefer this to be auto but thought it had to be manual. I'll leave it at auto for now as I think you can change it later if need be.

When you selected all, were you in your profile or custom 3 file? If you were in your profile, then yes you want gm duties manual. If you went into it with your profile, then you will need to go all the way to the right to options in franchise and make sure custom 3 is all set to auto still. Apply changes. Then make your profile the default. Now you can make whatever your personal play preferences what you want without effecting the cpu stuff.

Well it's been a blast making it to the playoffs but I have to admit seeing Houston trot Brian McCann out as their starting SS is a downer to say the least. I almost want to go in and remove Correa's injury just so they won't continue to do this but like I said...almost. I'm up 2-1 in the series and my pitching has suddenly remembered how to locate, it's a miracle lol. Felix turned in a stellar performance in the opener, Gray was serviceable but was let down by the defense in a 7-3 loss and then of all people Paxton turned in a great performance as well out dueling Kuechel to pull ahead in the series.

I so wish I had setup 30 team control prior to starting, between the roster expansion issue in September and this mess it's put a real damper on the ending to the season and after logging as many hours as it takes to get this far it is a letdown.

If you have injury set to manual....you will never ever see injuries in game or simmed.

You must set injuries to on.

Then go around the league and check injuries and adjust them as you see fit by going into the CPU profile and setting injuries to manual....then after you are done adjusting them...set it back to on (apply changes it will ask when you back out).


Word of warning. Minor leagues have tons of injuries every season. I let those stand.

Only MLB injuries I would even consider manual changes to after the fact.

30 team control is an absolute must with this game. The CPU lineup/callup logic is really bad this year. Just really bad.

Absolutely use the "30 team control" thread Forme posted the link too. I do to want this thread turning into a 30 team control Q/A fest.

If you play single team control you will see far too much wonky stuff and it will kill you immersion.

The game is not perfect, and CPU AI lineup/pitching management is really all over the board this year.

But since I do employ 30 team control I have been able to not only overcome it.....but become really familiar with every teams roster and I personally enjoy making lineups for every team, adjusting lineups as injuries crop up and making logical decisions.

Now of course I would love the AI to be able to be a lot better......but I have used 30 team control since I started playing this series. I would never do single team.

Same for every sports game I play (NBA 2K, Madden). AI is never the way it should be.....it’s incredible in this day and age.....but it is what it is.

I look for solutions because the game is too damn good. I am having far too much fun!!!

Yeah McCann did the same thing a couple times also. I keep kicking myself that the one year I forget to run 30 team control is the one year I have this happen. I've never been overly worried about trades or lineup order but playing guys completely out of position and pitching minor leaguers in the middle of a pennant race are two things I can't stomach. Now my only options are keep chugging along and deal with it or start completely over which having played nearly every game of a 162 game season it's a little tough to start over from scratch.
