Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

    Mike...

Enjoying the streams & happy that this forum seems busy!

Started another test franchise last night. Simulated ahead a month & played a random game, simulated a month played another, simulated a month & played another...

    Tor @ LAA (me) ... 4-1 (w) ... AI 5 hits
    ARI @ COL (me) ... 2-1 (w) ... AI 5 hits
    PIT (me) @ CHN ... 1-0 (w) ... AI 1 hit

Can go into detail or share box scores, but in a nutshell... the AI's hitting wasn't good. Granted, we're only talking 3 games here & I SHOULD have played a few games with the same team to see how stats balanced out.

Happy to report that USER walks (both side of the ball) were there with pitching curers turned off...

The USER batting 1B's, 2B's & HR's were there, too. Hit a HR with Andrelton Simmons that barely cleared the wall down the LF line. Had OF speed been ANY higher, Simmon's ball would have been caught as the ball scrapped the top of the wall & JUST out of the LF's grasp...

Although hoping to get battered around, I came 2-outs away from a no-hitter Glansow in Chicago. Had I (Glasnow) not walked 4 batters along the way, he would have had the strength to get it done!

Updated to v1.7 which includes two changes from 1.6:

      +1 to user contact (6)
-1 to AI foul ball frequency (1)

Let's really monitor user offense to see how the rest is shaping up. Too many of us, myself included, were just having their offenses stifled. If we see too much power with contact at 6 for user, we can always try user power -1 to 0.

I'm pretty confident we have the AI hitting spot-on. I've given up BABIP of .300 once, and the other five games saw the AI at .360-.390 for BABIP. The league average is .300. Keep tracking over some more games.

As for user offense, I'm curious to see how the 1.7 changes work for folks.

I'll fire up another test franchise tonight with 1.7 & power @ 0 & report back...

          Feels like you're almost there!

I might try that too, actually (power at 0 but otherwise v1.7)

Have you gone with cpu control back at 5 with contact at 6? I am going to keep power up and try contact 6. Braves seem to have no power outside of Freeman and Kemp...and then Inciarte hit two out last night...I don't think he's gonna reach the warning track on 0!

Mike i'm still on your base set and have had a 13-run outburst as well as a 9-run, 16-hit performance. I've been shut out as well. Offensive variety has been tremendous. I've got Miggy and JD over .400 and I've got a few guys under .200 - the balance is incredible so far (~13 games).

Can you please post your team BABIP through those 13+ games?

No, but I have a calculator linked in the first post of this thread.

There's a calculator link on the first post. Quite straight forward, just go back through your box scores - it's a bit of a faff but useful!

                            Ah! Okay yeah sure.
                            Came out to .314.
Note: that unfortunately includes three simulated games. (I just couldn't bring myself to play any games in Tropicana Field.) so that's 13 user games with your (original) sliders and three simulated games.

And while I'm here, this is how it broke down:

                            W 6-0
                            W 6-2
                            W 13-2
                            L 1-0
                            L 2-1
                            L 5-3
                            W 3-2
                            W 5-4
                            W 4-2
                            W 6-2
                            L 3-2
                            W 9-2
                            L 6-2

Thanks, but even easier: just use the team stats page. All you need outside of that are sacrifice flies which can be found on your individual stats page for your team. Might have a few guys in AAA or whatever who accumulated some too, but rare...and likely not enough to skew a general BABIP.

So my thoughts on contact 6 is, no matter where the reticle is, you're making contact if the timing is ok. Pop ups or choppers, often. So I thought I'd try 1.7 with solid hits at 6. And I loved it!!!

                                24% misses+Ks (only struck out 5 times)
                                Babip .310

This plays SO well. I felt like I could punish the cpu if they left something hanging but that if I swung at garbage I wouldn't be rewarded. Mix of singles, doubles and a couple home runs (playing power 2 as before) LOVE IT!
