Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I am still having major issues with the pitches being pulled in the game with the sliders. I am now 24 games in and they NEVER let a started stay in over 80 pitches. He could have a no hitter would not matter. Most recently I was playing against the Phillies and they took their starter out in the 4th inning with a no hitter and 60 pitches throw after he gave up one hit. This happens every game. I even tried lowering the cpu hook to 0 and starter stam to max and doesn't fix it. Any ideas Mike or this a flaw in the game?

Are you playing any of your games with Quick Counts?

Won our 4th game of the year, and our first 2-game win streak! This one also went extra innings against the Mets and we won 2-1 on a leadoff HR in the bottom of the 10th by Justin Bour...with power at 0! That was the only HR of the game.

Syndegard was so hard to hit ugh.

          My pitchers need some rest!

I'm running into the same thing with Foltynewicz lol. His stuff is NASTY. Thankfully McCullers has been just as nasty for me. Through 4, there has been one base runner for each team (Fielding error by Beltran and walk by Folty).

Noob question. There's a stat to check the strike/ball ratio under pitchers/batters analysis ?

Yeah, under pitcher analysis the pitch breakdown at the top shows Strike %, and you can also filter to find the exact count of balls/strikes under the "result" field on the bottom.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Game 2 was a pitchers' duel between young righties with good stuff, and runs were hard to come by.

                  Astros (McCullers) versus Braves (Foltynewicz)

Both pitchers came out on fire, and there was literally nothing the batters could do. Both teams were held hitless through 4 before the Braves finally ended McCullers' no-hit bid in the 5th on a Flowers single to LF. The Astros would end Folty's bid in the 7th on a line drive up the middle by Beltran to beat the shift.

McCullers went 7 shut out innings for me, giving up 4 singles, 0 walks and struckout 8. Folty went 7 one-hit innings for the Braves, only allowing 2 walks and striking out 6 on 85 pitches. He was pinch hit for in the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded and 2 out.

The Astros broke the scoreless deadlock on a George Springer RBI Triple in the top of the 8th after Marwin Gonzalez tallied a PH single to start the inning off Ian Krol. Gurriel drove in Springer on the next pitch to give the Astros a 2-0 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

Tyler Flowers singled and advanced to third on a Brandon Phillips double in the 9th before Giles slammed the door with a pair of strikeouts to earn the save.

Still no flyballs to the warning track or HRs for me through 3 games.

                  Final Score:
                  Astros 2-4-1
                  Braves 0-6-0

                  The Usual KPIs:

                  First Pitch Strikes:
                  Braves (CPU): 72.7%

                  BABIP:
                  Braves (CPU): .261
                  Astros (me): .174

Not sure what exactly is the problem but it seems that some here and myself have seen the issue in QC games and have not seen the issue arise near as much in games without.

I'm currently finishing up my 3rd game since playing w/o QC and Tampa Bay's starter is still in the game in the 7th inning.

I'm actually thinking of increasing CPU power as it may actually result in lower AI BABIP, but potentially more runs for them as well. Maybe to 2 or 3 for AI power?

Also, upping errors to 9 for IF and 8 for OF.

I might also try a game on All Star hitting.

Will update first post once I play a couple of games today.

Just to clarify, are you bumping up IF fielding AND throwing errors to 9 and OF fielding AND throwing errors to 8? I'm not seeing many errors either so I will test this as well.

I got some stats for you on this.

For the first 15 games in May in my franchise, I was holding the the CPU to an average of runs scored per game to just over 2. I wasn't seeing as much punch from the CPU as I thought I should so I bumped up CPU power to 3.

Here are my last 4 games playing with AI power set to 3. (I play zone and I have had HUM power at 3 also since mid April in my chise)

CLE vs TB - lost 7-4
                              CLE BABIP .214, 1 HR
                              TB BABIP .346, 3 HR

CLE vs TB - won 10-7
                              CLE BABIP .308, 3 HR
                              TB BABIP .419, 2 HR

CLE vs HOU - lost 4-5
                              CLE BABIP .296, 3 HR
                              HOU BABIP .370, 1 HR

CLE vs HOU - lost 13-9
                              CLE BABIP .346, 3 HR
                              HOU BABIP .393, 4 HR
*this game was a mess for both teams pitching staffs. I lost Salazar in the second to injury and had to ride the bullpen for the remainder of the game. The high scores resulted from bad pitching with CLE capitalizing on some walks and mistake pitches to hit a grand slam and a 3-run bomb. Then my bullpen couldn't throw strikes resulting in 3-4 walks in one inning and gave up a few gappers which led to a 10 run 7th inning for the Astros. Definitely felt like this was one of those anomaly games where nothing went right and I ended up with a football score lol.

I believe I'm gonna knock CPU power down a notch to 2 but I am seeing more offense from them than I was in my first month and a half of the season. My pitching staff feels like they aren't as dominant as early on and are giving up a few walks and getting hit as expected.

My offense has picked up as well but my averages are still a little low. Gonna leave HUM power at 3 for now but could go down to 2 also if it seems a bit overpowered.

                              Now, back to playing!

What are your solid hits at? Also, any changes to cpu or hum pitcher control? Wondering if cpu control at 4 would help human averages. Then lowering power to 2 would round that edge off?
