First thing to check is how often you throw out of the zone. If it's low, you won't walk many no matter the sliders. Lowering Control or Consistency can make you just have bad pitches in the zone, especially if you throw in the zone a lot (you're at least as likely to hang a meatball as miss out of the zone).

If you're throwing out of the zone a lot and the game is pulling your pitches back over the plate, I'd actually raise Consistency. That way your pitcher will be more apt to at least miss more out of the zone instead of in it (for a strike/BIP).

If you lower control and raise consistency, you might be able to walk more. Lower control will make the CPU chase less and higher consistency will help prevent the meatball. So you get more out of the zone and more takes from the CPU. In general, that's a good recipe for walks, especially if you keep trying to work the edges on three-ball counts (don't just throw near the middle...like the CPU does way too often).

On the back of this sound advice. Intentional walk can be a good friend as well. I’ve almost lost count of the runs I’ve given up when I KNEW I should have walked the in form or power bat guy.

Thank you for the great advice. I use quick counts and I always listen to the catcher and let them call the game. Except for the pitchers that have a great slider and I throw it away with 2 strikes. So with me letting the catcher call the game I’m guessing I’m aiming in the zone a lot cause I don’t recall them ever asking for a target outside the strike zone.

I try to stay in low corners and occasionally go high out the zone

I run all star difficulty default sliders mostly. I only change fielder speed/reaction to 3. Runner speed to 4.

What is the deal with foul frequency? I see you and most sliders sets on here have it on 3 or 4. Would it improve things for me to change it from default. I currently want to move to hof to get better sim results but i just cant hit on hof. Would foul frequency play into anything too drastic being that i have it on 5. I feel something is off and after reading all the threads it may be the issue.

Just wondering what that sliders impact is. Thanks in advance

Finished first full month with the Yankees. Thanks to these BOMB spreadsheets, I am really able to get an in depth analysis of how I am doing compared to the CPU. I'm curious to know what, if anything really stands out to all you experts?

Judge currently leading MVP race, and Jordan Montgomery leading Cy Young.

I sit 4 games atop the AL East (TOR) and BOS is 4.5 back.

I've hit 65 HR in 30 games (2.17/game). This year, the real Yankees have 144 HR in 84 games (1.71/game). I did have a game where I hit 11, lol...

I'm hitting .246 as a team, as compared to .250 for real Yankees.

All in all, I'm feeling pretty good with where these are at. I think I need to make CPU offense a bit more potent. I am able to dominate them a bit too easily, I think..

Well it wasnt a good playoff for me and my braves. We lost to the Dodgers in 4 games. We beat Kershaw in game one and than lost the next 3. The bats just went completely dead. We hit .168 in the series. All in all it was a successful season for the braves. So off to the off season where my main goal will be to resign Dallas Keuchel and mookie Betts which I traded for last season. That wont leave me much money for any free agents. Yeah I don't think they do - or it's very rare. What I do if I want to follow the location call is go out of the zone at that targeted location if I want to throw an on-purpose ball.

Well the Yankees lost Gary Sanchez for 1-2 months. He tore his shoulder trying to throw out a runner at 2nd. He was leading the league in home runs so that will hurt. I took 3 out of 4 against the last place Rays but the most runs I have scored in the last 6 games is 3 runs. I’m averaging 4.6 hits per game. I have raised solid hits to 5 and Fielder speed and reaction are at 2 but I’m either popping it up or ground ball. If I hit it hard it’s right at them. And it’s mostly from pitchers that have a era over 4.00 that are looking like aces against me. My solid hits were at 5 for 11 games and my BABIP is .260. I’m getting so frustrated I’m about to max out the sliders.

Yankees Year 2 Hot Stove Heating Up!!!

The feeding frenzy known as the month of July in MLB is heating up in our year 2 Yankees Franchise. Incredibly the AL East is the tightest race in all of baseball with the Yankees clinging to a 2.5 game lead over....The Orioles! Also the Blue Jays are 2.5 out and the Red Sox are 3.5 out. The Rays keep hanging around and sit 7 back as we head into our weekend series vs The Red Sox.

The Yankees got back Didi from a fractured shin and sent down 2B Jorge Mateo. Ohtani lasted just 4 innings in his return from the DL before landing right back on it with a shoulder tear. It has been a frustrating season for the Japanese import. He was able to hit his first career HR in that same game vs the Phillies. But then in the 4th inning he felt some discomfort with his throwing shoulder and was removed from the game. An MRI confirmed the worst. He will be out 1-2 months. Alex Meyer was recalled from AAA to rotate with CC in the 5th spot in the rotation.

Rumors are strong about the Yankees pursuing another starter. Names being floated around are:

                            Matt Harvey (Mets)
                            Justin Verlander (Tigers)
                            Zach Wheeler (Mets)
                            Jacob DeGroom (Mets)
                            Chris Archer (Royals)
                            Jose Quintana (White Sox)

The Orioles were looking to move Zach Britton and Manny Machado at the start of June.....but now they are 2.5 games back!!!

Stay tuned for a full on Hot Stove report at the trade deadline later this month!!

Well I was able to keep Dallas Keuchel and Mookie Betts. I signed both of them to long term deals. With that said I didn't have much money left for any big free agents. I also keep all my young talent. I did add veteran Nelson Cruz to be my 4th outfielder. The nationals lost Bryce Harper in free agency he went to the Astros. The Nats were able to sign Chris Sale to join Scherzer and Strasburg. I can't wait to face them. Lol. Manny machado sign a deal with the Seattle Mariners they were the 3 big free agents. There was a ton of other moves. So the braves are off to defend there 2018 division title and hopefully win a world series.

Ha I wish I could so something as brilliant as these sheets!

My guy @xNobleEaglex is the mastermind. He gets ALL the credit. He has the template (I won't send out his work out of respect), and is more than willing to send it to you and offer helpful tips on how to utilize the sheets. They are game changing. The formulas are BRILLIANT.
