Have you guys gotten in far enough to see the weird amount of trades that happen with minor leaguers. I’m curious to know if that is a problem outside of the roster set I’m using

I am seeing a lot of minor league trades too in April with the trade slider at 5.

Yeah, its pretty bad. The Cards used Wainwright out of the pen in my first 3 games and by game 3 he gassed after an inning....of course they leave him in for another inning and I completely shell him. I dont wanna control who they warm up and put in though. Idk how to handle this.

MLB 18 did this too. By default they always went to the long relief guy when losing. If you are using 30 team control you can go to each team’s rotation and put the long relief pitcher in the middle relief spot. It takes just a minute. That does help a little I believe. Cause if you keep them in the long relief they will have just as many innings as the starters.

Just had the best offensive performance so far in my 14th exhibition game. Scored 10 runs on 6 homers. To anyone struggling with power, just stick with it and let it ride and I guarantee you'll break through over a larger sample size.

            Another cool note:
I keep track of all my games, nothing in-depth, just the team and SP matchup and the final score. Looking back I noticed that in 14 games, I've scored each number of runs between 1 and 10. (ie scored 1 in a game, 2 in a game, 3 in a game, etc.)

I think that's a really good example of the variety in this amazing game and how each one is so different from the last.

I’m a veteran to the show, but brand new at classic questions..so bear with me here.

I know if you tap the button to pitch it’s more accurate, less break/velocity. If you hold it till the small vibration it’s max velo and break with less control. I had pitch feedback “on” and noticed after a pitch it would tell me if I was early or late etc. is that “early” or “late” based on the ideal timing to release the button?

I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

Also one more question. On meter, obviously you have to time out the meter based on how slow or fast your pitchers wind up is. Is that also the case for classic pitching? Or does it stay the same for each pitcher?

I think the fielding is starting to even out. I haven't seen nearly as many bobbled balls or errors. As I said in a previous post, the fielding is just incredible, especially ground balls. Their animations and reactions are just so lifelike. The only issue I've had is a very weird instance in the OF with Blackmon where an animation didn't trigger and the ball should have been caught. Moving Blackmon got very heavy and he turned around in a couple different directions despite me timing everything fine. The ball was smashed by Hoskins but it still should have been caught. Since it was the only one I've faced I'm just chalking it up to him not playing the ball appropriately.

I may make some pitching adjustments because I've found it a little too easy through my first 7 games. I use meter pitching so this is probably why it's a tad easier. I am painting pretty easily and haven't gotten in a ton of jams. I've tested pitchers with a variety of ratings. Last night I gave up one run to the Phillies with Antonio Senzatela who is a 73 overall and I was hitting spots really easily. I took him out after 5 because I could tell he was becoming less effective and tiring.

Hitting wise I am ok. I am thinking of going down to All Star. I've always been stuck in that weird in between All Star and HOF difficulty. Thankfully my pitching is good otherwise I'd lost a lot of games. I lowered pitch speed to 3 for each because I struggled mightily on 4 and 5.

I want some advice though. How do you hit the high fastball? I can never even get a piece of it. If it's just below the letters or up I just can't get to it. Maybe I need to raise my camera height just a touch so I see it better, but I'm just not sure. It's always been that I can't touch high FB's and it kills me big time.

Are you describing the video game Yankees or the real ones? I watched that game against the Tigers yesterday and this is a very accurate summary of that fiasco.

Larger sample sizes needed for this game, I thought after winning first 2 played games, thought maybe need to up level, then this game.

Now 3-3 in season, playing every other game. AllStar with meter pitching.

Side note: I tried latest 2 games with Armors suggested tweaks to speed and fielding.

I’m struggling with Hall of Fame hitting. Pitch speed at 4 I am way too early and 5 I’m too late. If I go to all star I can’t swing and miss I hit everything. What do you all star people do? What do I need to lower?

Lower nothing and keep playing on HOF. Practice makes perfect! I’d rather struggle in the beginning and feel like I really earned my victories as opposed to things being too easy
