Slow runners will still be slow, especially in comparison, but I think faster runners bang into DPs too easily even in scenarios where the commentators themselves say it's going to be hard to turn two. If Billy Hamilton hits a regular grounder to short, he is probably beating the return throw to 1B.

In MLBTS, he is out most of the time. Granted by half a step, but he needs to be safe more often than not.
I also see a lot of balls go into the gap, and the OF throws all the way through to 2B and the runner is JUST getting there. Standup doubles need to be more common and this will help with that.

I turned up arm strength and you see some lasers from guys who have cannons, especially in the OF. Aaron Judge has had a few plays at Yankee Stadium, where he throws to 2B on a line from the short porch. This needs to be possible.

Increasing arm strength AND baserunning speed to help balance this out, I think is something we should test.

I currently have arm strength at 6 and and runner speed at 7 and enjoying it.

I will test this and great observations and feedback ElMay

Also using dynamic difficulty....then locking it in where you stay consistently will work.

I have never had to use Dynamic difficulty. Once I outgrew AS...I moved up to HOF on 17 and eventually got the feel and hang of hit both hitting and pitching. There is only one more level to move for me....if I ever move up to Legend. Time will tell. LOL.

When hitting it's all about the pitch speed. On default I'm striking out 7-10 times a game. Bit I am also hitting bombs and scoring runs so om loving it.

I've used HOF pitching since 17 and never had an issue with strikeouts or "user ability". I don't think pitching is too hard and It's not like I'm getting crushed lol. In my original post about this I said JA Happ had 1 strikeout through 8, but also allowed just one run through 8.

So I don't mean it as a difficulty issue and I'm definitely not considering going down to All-Star as there's no need - I'm winning games and pitching well. It's just a matter of getting a lot of contact outs rather than too many strikeouts. I was more just wondering if anyone else was seeing more CPU contact outs rather than strikeouts, that's all. Could just be an anomaly and I'll probably see a difference in the next few games. Sample size!

I have found baserunner speed at 5 and arm strength at 4 is perfect balance.

          Armor,

Been using ur sliders for a long time. I too come from a baseball background, high school and single A pro ball (hurt arm), then went into the navy for 21 years. Been wanting to ask you as to whether u play any of the spring training games in 19 and if you do anything with the training side in the game?

Whats up Navy! And a huge thank you for your service to our country sir.

I do play spring training games. And I change the player training every month. I heard from a developer that changing the players training every month benefits the overall results.

Spring Training is a great way to use your 40 man roster....and have some position battles. Good stuff.

I will say this I do think it is harder to strike guys out in 19 than 18 Imo. I think with a bigger sample size you will get games with plenty of strikeouts

                armor,

Thanks for the reply. I use spring trainging to sort out my 40 man roster and sp spots, I was thinking for doing training for my 40 man roster once the season starts, thanks for the tip of changing every month.

The balance is there when you compare throw speeds to runner speeds. It passes the eye ball test, I agree 100%.

However, you will notice with lower runner speed slider (even on default) that double plays are too easy to turn even when there is a fast runner in the box.

If you have a guy with 80+ speed and he doesn't hit the ball directly at an IF, he should be safe or at worse bang bang. Without these adjustments, every groundball with a runner on first essentially turns into a "tailored made DP" regardless of player speed.

The recommendations I made help keep that "balance" but helps push the speed demons over the top and make them useful even when they are putting the ball on the ground.

Going to stream here on a few minutes and test runner speed at 7 and OF arm strength at 6

                    Got me curious

I’m really struggling striking guys out..
Averaging only about 4 a game. I think it has to do more with the starters K ratings. My BP guys have no issues getting ks

I started a fantasy franchise late last year and only got about 90 games into the season, but when I try to continue it on 19 it tells me I can’t use it because I didn’t progress through one year of my franchise
