I haven't even gotten the game yet because I'm waiting for OSFM to come out. No point in playing it until then for me, especially with how much fun I'm having on NHL 19.

The moments mode is pretty fun and the March to October is cool too. So there is dome value.

Based on what I'm reading here, I believe it. I actually enjoyed 18 so much that I'm willing to call it the best sports game I've ever played.

I'm actually itching to get 19, but I have no reason to start my franchise until OSFM comes out. I'm not really a fan of any of the other modes.

                Armor,

I am a believer now in full games!! Braves season opener against Phillies. NOLA has me struggling through 8 , only managed 2 runs. Meanwhile Foltz struggled and allowed 6. Top of the ninth; reliever in for Phillies not the closer, top of my order with one last chance. Inciarte double to start off. Patience- walk. 1st and 2nd, Acuna up, long drive to center just over diving CF in gap, Triple!!
                4-6
                New pitcher
                Walk, single, walk
Bases loaded, with his pinch hit return debut, McCann.
                GRAND SLAM on a 3-1count!!
                8-6 Bravos. New pitcher.
                Walk, pinch hit with Swanson.
                HR on 2-1 count.
                10- 6 Braves, 8 run inning.
Closed them out in bottom of 9th.
                RIP Quick Counts

Never got any game like this with QC, if your not playing full games, your missing the magic of baseball.

I play on AS for everything until I get better, old soul here. Armors 1.0, except I do Meter pitching instead of classic.

I used quick counts the last two years but this year I decided to play every pitch and am happy I did.

Man, is this year's game on point already. Rarely have I locked in sliders this soon. I'll definitely pay attention to the baserunning stuff in this thread but I may just keep it as is. My only area of question is errors so far- haven't seen many with it at 4. I did struggle with hitting in the beginning. I do Armor's clean screen approach, but I hit from a broadcast pitcher presentation custom camera for the ultimate immersion. Last year I had FB speed at 9 and offspeed at 7, but had to change to 7/7 and now I'm still striking out, but also still stringing hits together, and walking. The hit variety and the feel in general is fantastic. I played a bunch of play now games last night, and then began my franchise as the Mets. Lost 3-2 in the first game, and won 6-2 the second game. Another thing to note, at least for me, is the pitching. Hitting and fielding are great. But I feel like the pitching this year is super rewarding too. Last year, I actually feel like it was tougher to get the CPU to chase. This year, you properly set up a batter and the CPU will chase. I had 8 k's through 6 with DeGrom and 9 k's through 7 with Noah. I can't wait to get back to it after work. I'm very curious if my middle and bottom of the rotation guys will struggle a bit more than the two aces. Let's hope they don't change too much with patches!

Hey armor I saw in your stream yesterday you’re not changing base runner speed but are sticking with fielder throw power at 6?

I’ve been playing play now games with random teams and I’ve been using a lot of #4 and 5 starters and it’s definitely a challenge with them. You really have to work the hitters just to make it through the 5th inning. But man is it satisfying when you do. Even not getting strikeouts, but just getting big outs in tricky situations.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

This game is so great. So I’m using the sliders as is but with pitch speed at 4/4. I started to use the 6 throwing power and 7 base running speed. I think I like it but I’m concerned about slow runners beating choppers out. I have had a couple 20 speed players make it bang bang plays. But with speed at 4 I noticed the cpu being very conservative on the base paths. Runners are barely going first to third on a single. Or not taking a chance on a sac fly. I think there could be a happy balance in between. Maybe just increase base running speed to 5? I’m not a slider guru so I may be wrong.

I was thinking of the Cubs game on Monday night when they made 6 errors in the game. I was laughing thinking if I made 6 errors in my first game playing these I would be like what the heck is going on? But it makes you realize that anything can happen in this game and if you have a crazy number in one game that it may just be that. A crazy one off game.

So I keep a spreadsheet of all the stats like BABIP, hit Distribution %, extra base hit %. Well I have always been a quick count guy so the strike %, first pitch strike %, foul ball %, and swing and miss % never mattered. But now I am playing every pitch and love it. Especially the added presentation it gives. So now I’m tracking all of this stuff now and trying to find the average where I should be. So I figured out I want about a 23% swing and miss rate. Well I kept getting around 10% and was like what am I doing wrong. Then I realized...duh...that 23% is from total swings not total pitches.

Sorry for the long post just wanted to share.

So I don’t have errors one 4. They are at default 5 across the board and feel perfect.

As far as baserunner speed right now I am plying with it at default 5 and feel strongly that will be our first update to the OP and I am still testing OF arm strength at 6....but early thoughts are I really like it there.

So for everyone.....I would say try these adjustments out:

Baserunner speed to 5 (from 5)

OF arm strength to 6 (from 5)

Infielders are aware of the speed of the base runner and often take extra time making the throw if they know the runner is slow. That might be why you're seeing to many "to close for comfort" plays.

I'm playing on baserunner speed 8 and throwing at 6, and I've yet to see a slowpoke beat out a chopper.

Even at my setting, a guy with 20 speed runs like molasses out there.

OF arm strength to 6 (from 5)
Derp, for some reason I thought you had them at 4.
