Agreed. This game plays great out of the box, and for me the sliders are used just to fine tune a few things, and I didn’t have to change much.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
This has always been the problem for years. Ill give my opinion. Its possible to change sliders in order to get a realistic swing and miss % and somewhat competent CPU challenge, however once you go down that road you will never get the great balance necessary for the organic experience these sliders are offering. Its a trade off. I personally prefer the gameplay these sliders are giving me over losing myself in tinkering with sliders.
Luckily with the Indians pitching staff I have no issue with strikeouts and swing and miss %. These sliders are great. I had THE WORST case of slideritis last year and it’s refreshing this year, for myself to be able to just play. At first I thought I was striking out too many batters, but judging from Cleveland’s strikeout numbers IRL I’m not worried about it at all

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I’ve only played 3 games. I have 5 HRs during those 3 games and the CPU has zero. That being said not a single run was scored against Kluber, Bauer, or Carrasco.
Obviously only 3 games so I’m going to keep plugging away, but that’s the one thing I’ve noticed so far from the get go

Going on the air soon with game 3 of my opening series vs Baltimore in My Yankees year 3.
They shallacked me on game two and Bryce Harper has been lost for 2-3 Months with a fractured forearm sliding into 3rd head first on a wild pitch.
Oh the joy.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Just played my first carryover franchise with the Indians. It was game 3 of the ALDS. Updated the sliders for 19 including the base speed and OF arm.
Was a tough game three. Tied in the series 1 - 1. Indians come out against a struggling LHP Rodriguez and Red Sox team commiting 3 errors. Salazar for the Indians looking like he was going to have a great post season outing, gave up 3 HR's (2 to Martinez) and lost control of his pitches only lasting 3.2 innings. Red Sox had a 6 run 4th and rode it to a 5 - 8 victory.
Game 4 to come. Elimination game for the Indians, they will pass on Post Season struggling Ace Kluber and go with Bauer. They will use Kluber if it comes to game 5.Really wish sports games played to ratings!

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
This is probably the only sports title that we can do this with. Couldn’t come close to keeping sliders simple with an EA Sports game. And believe me, I’ve tried.

Oh I know. I’ve already played more games of the Show in just a few weeks with the sliders I have than I did the whole season of NHL.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Just played the first two games of a new Twins franchise, using these sliders, Directional hitting, and Classic pitching. We won the first 2 against the rival Indians, capped by an extra inning comeback win in game 2. Gibson was pitching a gem until the getting into trouble in the 6th and Ramirez hit a 3-run Homer. Cron tied it with his 2nd HR of the game in the bottom of the 9th. We won it after Buxton reached on an error by Kipnis, stole 2nd, advanced to 3rd on an infield single, and scored on a deep sac fly by Nellie.
From a game play perspective, my biggest adjustments were situational Drive (stick down) hitting and timing how long to hold down the X button while pitching.
(BTW, Cron's 1st homer was a 435 foot shot on a 2 strike drive swing)
Word of advice for other directional newbies: no matter how much you want to use an active strike zone or hot zones while batting, don't. I tried in several practice games, and I ended up over thinking every pitch. Ended up being behind on every fastball, and hopelessly diving at all the off speed stuff out of the zone. You are much better off practicing your own strike zone instinct.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I've had consistent success using the down stick with Jorge Polanco. Between practice games and the new franchise, he's had a few line drive doubles into gaps and even a line drive homer that just barely cleared the wall.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I’m absolutely amazed at how much better my hitting is and the hit variety I’m getting with default pitch speeds. As I mentioned in an earlier post one of the first things I do every year is lower pitch speeds so I have more time to react. This year though the lower pitch speeds gave me too much time and I found myself waiting on everything which resulted in constantly late swings and poor contact.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I could really use some advise on hitting HRS.
I am 12 games into my Reds season and if have hit a total of 3.
I am not kidding when i tell you i hit about 4 a game off the wall, no matter where i am playing.
I hit a ton of doubles in the gap, i just cant seem to hit HRS.
The CPU hits a ton off me though.
I have tried holding up on the L stick but i just seem to pop the ball up when i do thisND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment
