Haven't posted on here in a few weeks and have barely played the game in the game in the month of May just because of life and being super busy.

Getting back into it the last few days with the updated sliders.

And still... getting only 1, 2 or 3 strikeouts with my starting pitchers pretty much every game. I'm 28th in the league and the Yankees staff is not that bad.

I don't know what else to do. At this point, I don't even feel like it's anything that sliders could fix. I hate to complain and say this, but the game just feels broken to me, at least in this aspect.

Not sure what has been discussed about it here over the last few weeks, but has anyone here seen any improvements since slider adjustments were made? Anyone else still having major problems besides me? So frustrated!!

Edit: Before anyone replies with anything about my pitching strategy/approach, just know that isn''t it. I'm aware of what a good pitching strategy is and have played this game for 7 years without an issue like this.

This was an issue for me this year as well, but Armor’s slider adjustments have helped, at least for me.

I’m still not striking out a ton of batters, nor should I be with my staff, but things feel more organic and I don’t feel cheated as much as I did prior to the adjustments.

I agree. I think it is a little weird also. I liked tc020791’s hypothesis in JoshC1977’s thread.

“By upping the success of steals the game engine felt like it needed to "bring in the reigns" so to speak on the offense in order to keep the game balanced under the hood.”

Who knows what the reason is, but I truly feel it has made a difference for some people.

Interesting. Well if I continue to struggle I'll definitely give it a shot. Stealing is actually something I'm decent at though so that will an annoying trade off.

I was messing with this before work after reading it in joshC’s thread. Through 4 innings I had 9 runs 11 hits and 3 HRs. Chased Aaron Nola out early. It’s very strange.

I don’t think you will notice much, if any, difference on your ability to steal bases. At least, I didn’t.

How has Bryce been for you? He’s the runaway MVP candidate for me and has posted a nearly 3 War season and I’m not even in June yet.

I’m so patient with him at the plate and when I get my pitch to hit he crushes it.

This is the first time I’ve ever had the chance of winning MVP in all the years I’ve played this game.

Just chiming in.

Yes, I saw improvement by backing-off the SB sliders to default (but that's relative to my own settings on All Star). No matter what game it is, I will always caution people from plugging 1-2 of other people's settings into another person's slider sets....it COULD work, but you're essentially creating a customized set....so the onus is solely on you to ensure it works. Armor's got a set that plays very well from what I've seen in his streams....it also looks to be challenging...even with his gaudy Yankees lineup

That said....one or two sliders isn't going to magically "fix" an inability to use smart, strategic hitting. I think many people, not just here at OS, but elsewhere I've read, are completely in over their heads. They're trying to stick with difficulties that they are just not good enough for.

HOF is HARDER this year, All Star is HARDER this year.....the devs said this in the pre-launch streams. If you're beating your head against a brick wall trying to play on HOF, drop down to All Star. If you're beating your head against a brick wall trying to play on All Star, drop down to Veteran. It doesn't matter how you play but that you are having fun playing it. Don't get caught-up in "titles"...seriously, no one gives a crap what difficulty you play games on (heck, I play many shooters on easy...so what...).

Now....if you know your approach is sound, that you take strikes, that you have a plan at the plate but are just looking for a bit extra oomph, a small tweak might help. Otherwise.....

I lost Bryce for the first month of the season but in the first 1.5 games (yep happened in his second game) he tore the cover off the ball. Since coming back he has been a beast. Love hitting with him.

I have Bryce in my fantasy draft Houston Astros franchise so far through 12 games 0 HR 4 RBI and a 260 BA..I just figure when he does get hot he will be a beast for along while

He’ll heat up for you I’m sure. I’ll have to look at the exact number again, but he’s posted roughly a 3 WAR season for me so far and I’m not into June yet.

Well folks I'm starting to think there's no hope for me. Over the last 5 games my hitting issues have actually gotten worse. I just got 2 hit by the Orioles. That's right the ORIOLES. Everything was WEAK AF. I didn't have a single hard hit ball. Not even on foul balls. The steal slider thing a couple people brought up didn't seem to make a difference.

I’m almost to the All-Star break and at the 50 game mark Bryce was the only player over .300 on the team, he was slashing .374/.460/.596 with 21HR and 58RBI but we were 23-27 and my team ERA was almost 6.00.

Cut to one month (and one long cold streak) later and he’s .298/.394/.492 and 22HR 63RBI. God awful month, but I started playing better with everyone else and despite Bryce not doing anything all month we’re at 42-35 now.

That 162 will be a roller coaster.

Further more I'm seeing seeing "good swing" "weak contact" constantly. I swear it's like hitting with a wiffle ball bat. These are hitting X for normal swing.

Having similar success with Bryce in my Philly chise. He had 21 bombs in late May before he went down with a sever calf strain. It’s been fun to the rest of the team rally with him being out, but no doubt his presence takes us to the next level. Hopefully he’s back in late August.
