I'm using strike zone 3. I simply can't score more than 2 runs. It's a curse lol. Just lost 5-1. 5 hits. Only one solid hit to the right field wall that scored my 1 run. This game was played with human timing at 6. I noticed no difference. I keep losing/hitting horrible yet I can't stop playing SMH.

Also I've brought up the last patch several times and everyone says it's not the issue. They're probably right, but before that patch when I first switched to HOF was the ONLY time I'd say I've hit well. I was scoring 5-6 runs per game over about a 10 game stretch and seeing a variety of hits. Before that and after that there's literally hits I never see. Rarely anything in the gap, next to nothing to the wall or warning track. I don't get it. No idea what I was doing different during that time I was hitting well. One thing I've noticed recently is I hit a lot of foul balls resulting in bad hitter counts. That's obviously a timing thing but adjusting that slider to 6 seemed to do nothing at all.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Am I alone in thinking that raising the pitch speed slider (for both fastballs and breaking balls) improves the overall feel of hitting?
I have mine at 8 currently, and it seems that the higher the pitch speed slider is the easier it is for me to square up or get just out front of fastballs, with less foul balls too. And with offspeed pitches, the higher the pitch speed slider the less likely I am to be out in front.
Sports is inherently more about instinct/reaction/muscle memory and not using your brain to think each moment through. When I have to just use instinct or reaction time instead of focusing on my timing I hit much more effectively.

I find the same thing for me at times. I’m currently hitting with pitch speed 7. I use zone hitting though so I haven’t gone higher cause I’m not quick enough to get the barrel to the ball. Lol.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Like some of you I've been struggling with hitting. (using exact sliders here except I have The Show 15 view and 10 for pitch speed).
So I switched on the Swing/Pitch info setting for a game or two to monitor my timing. It seems to have helped! (It's switched back off now). You'll find it in General - Advanced.Comment

Oh the torture of baseball.
My offense has been on freaking fire. The month of May I was simply mashing.
June 1st at Toronto last night to start the first of a 3 game set and hopefully put a dent in their first place lead (I am 4.5 games back of them entering this series).
I was 1 hit. 1 freaking hit.
Lost 2-0.
Verlander drops to 0-4. And we fall 5.5 back.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
I go into my next series and my bats go cold. Frustrating and awesome at the same time as it replicates the ups and downs teams go through during the season.Comment

I know that you have tried a ton of things, but have you tried moving base running steal ability and frequency back to default 5? That is something that seems to have helped a lot of people with hitting in JoshC1977’s slider thread.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Just playing The Show for the first time. The classic set is what i’m Using with all these classic rosters by Don. On hdmi 1, the xbox is playing the 68 colts vs the 66 packers in cpu vs cpu mode and on hdmi 2, Mickey Mantle’s smoking Brooks Robinson for a stand-up double in cpu/cpu mode. Awesome to have 60s action i didn’t live through going at the same time. Cool how video games offer a form of time travel.
Amazing stuff with these sliders and roster. Wild pitches. Misjudged pop flies. Batters staying alive with foul tips. Pitcher’s stamina matters. These sliders are magic. Love that you crafted sliders for classic action.
Thanks for all the hard work. Cool to be able to jump into a game and not worry about any tweaks. Just download stuff and play.Last edited by tommycoa; 05-31-2019, 01:04 PM.For an alltime legends team on xbox, search usertag haughtypine7723

Does this help with power? I can‘t seem to hit homeruns at all but have lots of balls caught right in front of the wallComment

Weirdly, for some people, I think it has helped.

I feel for you. My Phillies team is top in the league and division in almost every offensive category after just destroying for a month.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I agree. I think it is a little weird also. I liked tc020791’s hypothesis in JoshC1977’s thread.
“By upping the success of steals the game engine felt like it needed to "bring in the reigns" so to speak on the offense in order to keep the game balanced under the hood.”
Who knows what the reason is, but I truly feel it has made a difference for some people.
