Out of curiosity, have you considered trying dynamic difficulty with the sensitivity set to 8-10? It will get you past the low levels fast. Sometimes the + difficulty is right for someone. Last year I was on all star+ but this year it was rough for me so I went to all star.

Once you feel comfortable, you can turn sensitivity down to 0 to lock you in. Maybe veteran+ is a sweet spot for you. If anything, it may restore some confidence in your hitting.

I can't handle HoF. I have no shame in that. I play to have fun and I personally could not on HoF.

Just a suggestion to hopefully help.
I appreciate the suggestions. I've never messed with dynamic difficulty. I was told it doesn't do anything if you're on a preset difficulty. I played a few games with the swing results on and I really think timing is my issue. I was early or late too often. Offspeed stuff specifically sliders give me trouble. I'm gonna play several games with the human timing at 4 and see what happens.

I would think you’d want to go in the opposite direction with the human timing slider. I’d say try it at 7 or 8.

You have been a gentleman in receiving all of this info as you probably realize everyone is trying to help, you should be commended for that as many people in the main forums would blow a gasket is someone disagrees with their post so kudos to you. Lastly you mention having trouble with off speed stuff , specifically sliders . That's definitely where working the count and getting it in your favor is key. If I am looking fastball and I get a good slider low and away I most likely wont hit it or wont be able to lay off but if im looking fastball and I get I have to punish the pitchers mistake. Also studying what the pitcher may throw in certain counts helps also. Many times when you are ahead in the count the opposing pitcher will try and fool you with a changeup or curve, if you are sitting on either of those two pitches you can do some damage also. Its a huge chess match and when you make the right move its awesome , don't get me wrong , it doesn't always work out but to me that is the beauty of it. Good luck brother, I hope you find your niche and stick with it because this game is the best baseball game I have ever played.

I appreciate that. Trust me I've seen how forums and comment threads can go off the rails. I came here for the sliders and franchise folks to discuss them with so I'm grateful for all of the responses. It's crazy how addicting this game is. Especially for someone like me who has baseball as their 3rd favorite sport.

I definitely need to get better at guessing when the pitcher will throw what pitch. Outside sliders are a nightmare right now because for some reason I wanna swing at them way outta the zone lol. Fastballs I'm ok on once I pick up on the pitchers velocity.

No doubt that pitch has gotten me on many occasions too. I know it sounds crazy but IRL great hitters with great vision can pick up the spin of the ball out of the pitchers hand and sometimes the arm angle and therefore can guess which pitch is coming. On the show I don't think picking up the spin on the ball is even possible but it is possible to recognize what pitch is coming if you can pick the ball up out of the pitchers hand. Some days are better than others and there are other factors that go into it. I was playing a game against the Angles the other day at 7:15 and the sky was gray and I could not pick up the ball until it was on top of me because the ball was blending in with the sky. Once it got darker I was able to see it . Needless to say the first 5 innings of that game I did not hit well. Practice is the key and I know the more you play the better it will feel. Try not to get discouraged once it clicks you will be amazed

What you said about picking it up out of the pitchers hand is interesting because that's exactly what I used to do the last time I played in 13. I've tried with 19 and it hasn't worked as well. Those pesky outside sliders and low pitches out of the zone are what usually get me. I've had issues seeing the ball in certain lighting. Games where half the infield is sunny really jack me up 😂.

I don’t use Zone hitting, but for Meter pitching I have Human Pitcher Control at 3 and Human Pitcher Consistency at 4. Seems to give me a good enough challenge.

I use meter pitching at these exact sliders on HOF and they are great.

Meter pitching works great with the exact same sliders. Zone hitting is different though. I couldn‘t hit anything with the sliders from Armour.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Am I alone in thinking that raising the pitch speed slider (for both fastballs and breaking balls) improves the overall feel of hitting?

I have mine at 8 currently, and it seems that the higher the pitch speed slider is the easier it is for me to square up or get just out front of fastballs, with less foul balls too. And with offspeed pitches, the higher the pitch speed slider the less likely I am to be out in front.

Sports is inherently more about instinct/reaction/muscle memory and not using your brain to think each moment through. When I have to just use instinct or reaction time instead of focusing on my timing I hit much more effectively.
