18-3 to start the year... Do I move up to Legend?

Also I keep track of my exhibition games that I played while waiting to start franchise.

Was 17-5 in those games, plus 18-3 in franchise. Thats 35-8 combined... decent sample size. I think I need to make the move.

Using that combined 35-8 record would translate to 119 win season (which is only 3 off the record) IF you can stay on-pace. That's fine territory to be in, but not ridiculously crazy IMO. I think run differential would tell more of the story; if you're blowing guys out all the time, then maybe. If you just have a really good record with close wins, you may be due for a regression to the mean; in which case I'd stick with it.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Good point about run differential. I'm actually unsure what it might be, but I'm about to get on so I'll check.

Another thing is that I'm using a Yankees roster with no injuries besides Didi... and Tulo is hitting .330 for me with 2 homers.

When you consider that as well as the fact that the Yanks early season schedule includes many weaker teams like Detroit (2-1), Baltimore (6-0), Kansas City (3-1), and the White Sox (3-0), an 18-3 record doesn't sound too far off from reality. Besides those teams, I split a 2 game set against Boston and I did sweep the Astros in Houston, scoring 18 in 3 games off of their pitching staff.

        Thanks for the feedback

EDIT: Run differential is +57. (118 RS and 61 RA)
If you compare that to real life, the Yankees at that same point were at +27, and the best in baseball at that time, the Rays, were at +42. So I would say that it's a significant difference.

I think I'll stay on HOF for this 9 game road trip out west and see how things look after that. If it's the same or worse at that point I'll probably move to Legend.

Is anybody using staggered pitch speeds like last year? Ex. 4/5 or 5/6. Or is that “wrong” this year? I’m going to try 4/5 now as I find I’m always behind on fastballs on 5 and offspeed pitches seem to “float” on anything less that 5. Thanks

Yes it's definitely faster this year. It really forces you to (and I know this is cliche..) play the count. If you can get in a 2-0 and sit fastball...you have essentially a 40-ish percent chance of getting what youre expecting if it's in your spot.

But I digress. Yes, it's faster.

I’m doing 5/6. I’m sometimes late, sometimes early on FB, so I have no need to raise or lower it. I have offspeed at 6 because changeups aren’t 10 mph slower in real life, those are what kills me. Curves/sliders I judge pretty well regardless of having it at 5 or 6.

After 3 years of fiddling with the camera nonstop I settled on wide. I think it’s the best camera for reading speed.

Thanks for your input. I’m going to start at 4/5. I’ve been using the zoom camera angle for the past few years. Seems to work well for me but those straight change ups still get me

So far I am having a different season than you using the yanks also. Early yet but I am 3-3 and the last two games against Detroit I have taken 2-1 and 4-1 leads into the 7th inning and my bullpen has imploded. Lost one game 8-3 and the other 8-7. I am using the Full minors OSFM rosters. What rosters have you gone with Money? I think this matters when it comes down to ratings and how particular players perform. Great start to your season, Keep it rolling! By the way Betances has a 40+ ERA going. Ouch

Man I am seeing way different results than the majority when it comes to injury. I just started August and I've had 4 major injuries happen to my team in game, and least double that amount in minor injuries that required removal from the game.

My system has been pretty consistently getting injured as well, and this is all with injuries staying solidly at 5. Am I just the unluckiest son of a gun alive? It's not like I have bad durability ratings either.

Whinging partially because I just lost my catcher to a groin tear. He will be out for the rest of the season, and most likely the playoffs as well.

Yes you will. Albeit I use these with some modifications of my own but when I sim I see realistic stats.

After a little over 20 games it’s pretty apparent that I need to bump power for both CPU and myself. I keep track of all the game results in a spreadsheet and SLG% is hovering around .375 with around 1 HR/Game between both of us. If I raise Power to 6, should lower Solid Hits to 4 each to compensate right? I don’t want to cause a massive offensive explosion, only want to see an increase in HR/9 on each side.
