Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Lolol just had the most insane game with these sliders and Bacon's fictional rosters. A breakout game for my struggling offense and my starter left in the 2nd with an injury. The result... 10 home runs between the two teams lol. Won 12-9. Pretty insanity. I had previously nerfed fastball pitch speed to 4 but maybe with the power change I can try going back to 5Comment

I turned down CPU foul frequency to 2 and everything else at 5 and seeing plenty of k's. It helps them swing and miss on borderline pitches instead of fouling them off so much especially with power hitters.

CPU success on 0-2 and 1-2 counts is off the charts.
That might be the cure. Stay tuned!!Last edited by Armor and Sword; 05-06-2019, 12:33 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

I lowered CPU timing to 4, foul frequency at 3. First test game was good. Maybe this is also an option to consider.Comment

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Armor, I’ve been using your sliders for a long while now. Kudos for the amazing work over the years.
Sliders are great. I’ve also noticed a lot of 0-2 success from the CPU. I’m in game 8 of my franchise. The four game series against Anaheim saw a lot of foul balls off my ace (except Trout of all players. poor guy batted a .100 to start the season). Outside of that I’ve had some great results. Keep it up guys.Comment

It was with Johnny Cueto 4 years ago.
I had a hard time throwing strikes the last inning because my hands started shaking.
I was way too nervous that last inning for playing a video game.
On a side note.
Clayton Kershaw no hit me in last years game.
He actually hit my 27th batter or he would have had a perfect game.
it was pretty crazy.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
This can be a double edged improvement allowing my top pitchers and relievers to strike out more CPU hitters on 0-2, 1-2 or induce weaker contact vs lowering their timing and weakening their offense overall.
Check out this chart below. It will give you an idea of how counts are everything in hitting success.
So you can see on 0-2 and 1-2 counts what the averages are. Well not so in my first 60 plus games of playing 19 on HOF. We need to get a handle on this. I think we will. And sometimes no question it is on me for pitch selection and location. But too often I am aiming well outside the zone and getting punished. It also has to do with the upgrade to contact hitters on 19, which is a great tune as it was needed, but it feels OP on HOF level for the CPU so we need to "slider" it down and I am confident we will.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 05-06-2019, 02:42 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

I am going to test Foul Frequency at 2 for the CPU first. I do not want to unintentionally nerf their offense with lowering their timing.

In 2 games with CPU foul frequency at 2 I struck out 10 and 11 CPU hitters, but not at the expense of their offense. Small sample size I know but it feels pretty sweet at 2.
On a side note I have indeed finally scrapped my Rockies season. Coors Field is a nice looking stadium but it’s not fun to play there. There’s just entirely too much offense for both teams to the point where the game becomes frustrating. So I’ve decided to go with that other New York team, the one from Queens.

Those 4 guys in the OF are tough to rotate though because I love Legares as my primary CF for his defense.
I’ll hop on the 0-2, 1-2 bandwagon as well. CPU seems to have just outstanding plate vision in these scenarios!Twitch: Goblue81188Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Man, I am loving this year's game. I unfortunately don't get to play as much as I would like to anymore, but this year's game feels like the iteration where I will complete a full season (never have). I started my Mets franchise 12-2, and it seemed like I was dominating every game. My run differential showed that. I literally felt invincible and I was starting to get bored playing. Now I'm 12-9 and I can't get my bats and pitchers to both play a complete game at the same time. I was afraid I wasn't going to get humbled. I just got swept by the Cardinals and pretty much got blown out each game but it felt so good haha. Before this losing streak I was number one in team ERA, team batting average, 2nd in slugging, but now the tables have turned and I love it. I finally feel vulnerable. SAMPLE SIZE. I'm not having the power/contact issues others users have had but I'm in the bottom third for strikeouts. Playing as the Mets, I feel like that should not be the case and it definitely feels like foul frequency is the culprit. As Armor mentioned though, I don't want to nerf the CPU's offense because I feel like I definitely fear them now.Comment
