Right! The strike zone is just as important as the line of scrimmage is in football. Gotta control the zone.Comment

Loving the game and loving the sliders so far. Playing all star hitting and while I am getting hits and runs I'm still to hit a homer!

Absolutely. I've posted about this in this thread too many times already lol so I won't keep repeating myself. It's just sooooo important and the single biggest difference maker if you can get it down.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
It makes no sense either, I make great contact and hit a million doubles.
Case in point last night. I sit on a fastball with Puig.
Its a fastball right down the middle I crush it to the power alley (110 mph exit vel) ball hits off the wall for a 2B.
Ive hit 3 hrs in 17 games with the Reds, most in GABP which is a hitters park.
Everything looks great stat wise except my lack of HRS. The CPU has hit ton off me too.
I am not kidding when I say I average 8 doubles a game and no HRS.
All 3 of my HRS were line drives right down the line too.
I have crushed a ton of ball to CF but they all end up as warning track flyouts.

Im 17 games into my Reds season and quite frankly the lack of HRS is becoming a huge issue for me using this set.

Lastly, Armor has said many times that for some people this is just a base set and can and should be tweaked to individual needs and playing styles and abilities. So don't be afraid to bump up the power slider a tick or two if you're down to that option.Comment

Simply start with bumping up the solid hits slider to default 5. That will probably solve it.
Everyone has different skill levels. I do not use any visual aides or visual feedback. And I suggest you don't either. Now Playing on PS5:

While I personally dropped down to default All Star, I strongly believe it is possible to overcome it with directional on HOF; but you really have to know your hitters. Pull guys, you have to be a hair out in front. Balanced guys, you either have to 11-o-clock it or nail a pitch with no influence using power swing. Guys with uppercut swings (Jose Bautista as an example) will get that loft under the ball more naturally and you just need to hit the ball hard and be out in front.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
A LOT of the online guys playing on HOF/Legend are having the same issues (and they are on default sliders). With all due respect to Armor, I really don't think that bumping up solid hits will help; you'll just get more direct liners with crap launch angles (comparing Armor's streams to others, I think the lower solid hits actually helps overcome the issue).

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I am on All Star, and just using Armors OP except default user batting sliders, and started hitting more Homer's with Braves. I also use the 2015 camera instead. I believe camera helps on timing, need to use one where you can read pitches better. I primarily use X to swing no matter batter, unless need a contact hit with contact hitter. The power swing has never worked for me personally. But maybe it does this year?

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Are you on All-Star or HOF? If on HOF, obviously would suggest to go down to All-Star. Otherwise, what's your approach like? Do you swing and chase a lot? What's your strategy with the left stick? How about using power swing vs. normal or contact?
Lastly, Armor has said many times that for some people this is just a base set and can and should be tweaked to individual needs and playing styles and abilities. So don't be afraid to bump up the power slider a tick or two if you're down to that option.
I never use the L Stick at all when hitting.
I use the 2015 camera.
And I swing with x unless I down 0-2 or 1-2 in the count.
I am currently hitting .272 as a team and I score plenty of runs.
I just cannot hit hrs at all!
I have never had this issue when playing the show.

When Ridins roster drops i will be attempting to play every pitch and every game with the Orioles with these sliders. It's gonna be a long year.
