Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Right when I was beginning to get worried about being too bad at offense to continue using Armor's exact setup, I have this gem of a game. By far the most fun I've had batting this year!

    <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><link href="http://dynasties.operationsports.com/css/osdyn.css" rel="stylesheet" Suggestions please. On all-star, I hit like a madman. I have not lost a game.

On HOF, I hit like a little leaguer against a HS pitcher, especially the CB down in the zone. I have not won a game.

Using the OP sliders with no adjustments.

I want to get on with my franchise but can't decide what I need to do. Sample size is about 10 games, 5 for each.

Go back to HOf and put pitch speed on 4 and solid hits on default. I think you will like what you see.

Re: Armor &amp; Sword &amp; Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Advice please.....how do I increase home runs when everything else feels good..getting plenty of hits (singles and dbls) but seems to mostly only have warning track power......I have contact, power, timing and solid hits on default. I have pitch speeds at 4 and 5....I use the LS in hitters counts sometimes to pull the ball with power hitters. If I raise power to 6 and even lower solid hits to 3-4 I hit the ball too hard (line drive rate goes through the roof). Do I stick with it as is and just try to be more selective/patient? It just feels like when I hit a Homer it is only with the big power hitters....I never feel like I can run into one with my 'regular'/average hitters (i.e. Caratino, Deacalso, Heyward etc...)

Re: Armor &amp; Sword &amp; Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

              Hey Armor,

As you know, I've been playing The Show and using your sliders for a looong time.

Lately I've found myself in a massive hitting slump after starting the season on fire. Honestly I think a large part of it is because I recently came home from college and now am playing on a different, bigger TV, and sitting farther away at my parents house... lol. That's right about when it started.

I've always been back and forth about my left stick strategy with directional. I'll go months without touching the stick and it will be fine, and then I'll start using it for a bit and do well, and just keep going back and forth.

I'm trying out your exact LS strategy on the OP, so I wanted to clarify a few things.

Is the only scenario which you touch the LS in hitters counts? And is it only 10/11 o clock with power hitters, and 9 o clock with everyone else? For example, with Giancarlo Stanton, I'm only using 10/11 when ahead in the count, and that's it. And with Troy Tulowitzki, I'm only using 9 o clock when ahead. Correct?

Also, can you expand on what you mean by "if the situation calls for a pull"?

Do you do anything with the stick with any kind of hitter when you are in a double play situation? Ex: runner on 1st, no outs, put the stick at 12 o clock (or anywhere from 10-2) regardless of hitter? just to stay out of DP?

Finally, you say to use with "dead pull" hitters. Does this mean you only use the stick at all if their "tendency" says "EXTREME pull"? Or anyone that says pull?

Thanks in advance and anyone else in here who might have input on these questions feel free to reply too.

Armor what is the highest amount of pitches that you've seen a CPU starter throw with your CPU starter/reliever stamina at 5?

I have been hitting stick neutral a lot on 19.
I am finding a lot more success with it this cycle.

I still will use the LS influence on situational hitting. But I am not using 10-11 ams 1-2 o’clock as much this cycle with my power hitters.

108-110 was the most I have seen. In todays MLB you are dimply not seeing guys go very deep anymore.

Check out my Classic roster adjustments on the OP. If you want more old school pitch counts make those tweaks.

Just remember that the Yankees led the league in homers last year with 267. That’s an average of 1.6 homers per game. I have no doubt there were games where the hit 3+ homers in a game, which means a lot of games where they hit no homers. Don’t panic. I use the exact same sliders as Armour suggests on HOF and my Yankees are hitting a reasonable number of homers. My last 3 games - went 0 homers, 1 homer and 3 homers. Trust Armours sliders and play

Where can I view the roster rating updates?

Thank you for the reminder man. I found the culprit (other than my lack of patience due to a 5 game losing streak).......my camera! I've gone with fish eye 2 and a custom offset all year ....went to a retro with a slight change and it made a big difference......lost in 12 innings to the nats and Scherzer. But I hit two dingers and had 11 total hits and 3 walks.

Good to hear. I’ve been using The Show 15 camera angle this year and seems to work well for me. Play ball!!

Anyone having issues with the CPU not hitting enough HR's? It seems to be a rarity for them to hit more than one in a game for me. Almost want to bump up to Legend pitching which is where I was last year. Any suggestions as to what I should adjust to get that little bit of extra pop for the CPU? I've tried Power to 6, but then it seems like everything is destroyed and exit velocity sits at 90-105 each time.

                                Hey A&S,

Just checking in after having played about 30-40 games with the current slider set. Here are my big take-away's:

                                • Fantastic variety of games, scores and outcomes.
                                • Still the best experience I've had with MTS in years.
                                • Realistic hit totals.

                                • CPU hitters make contact with everything making strikeouts a rarity.
                                • CPU pitchers give up an inordinate amount of walks.
                                • Player injury frequency still outweighs CPU (I've yet to see a CPU injury during a game, yet I've picked up several injuries on routine plays.
                                • Dare I say, it's too easy to steal?
