Have you used the roster set? Cycloniac has released a slider set to match his rosters and its very dramatic compared to your set

It happens to me too. I play with auto fielding, and if I don’t preload my throw when fielding with the first baseman, he’ll walk right past the bag to home or the dugout.

I know it’s been reported as a bug, and it’s pretty infuriating that it hasn’t been fixed.

Used to happen to me all the time. You can take control of the fielder with the left stick after he fields the ball. So now anything hit to the first baseman I just manually run to the bag. Sometimes the play is close but I'd rather have a close play at first than a >50% chance of the first baseman running off into the dugout.

Had a really immersion breaking game last night vs. Rockies. AI would just not swing at anything outside the zone, no matter how close the pitch was or what the count was. Ended the game with only one strikeout and lost 8-3. Hopefully it was just a fluke but it was absolutely painful to play. Didn't help that the ump wasn't giving anything on the corners, either.

This has been my experience pitching more often than not this year and it’s a real bummer.

The only blunder I consistently see is when the ball is hit to the first baseman. If I hit circle, sometimes he runs past the base, sometimes he throws to the pitcher coming to cover when he could have walked 3 feet to touch the base. This has to be bug.

I use auto fielding with buttons to throw. Can you at all move the player with auto fielding? I guess I should try but it’s my natural reaction to hit the button.

With auto-fielding, you don't even need to move the stick for the 1b to take the ball to first. He'll do it on his own unless the better play is to throw to the pitcher covering first.

After having the 1b-overrun bug with both the button and the stick a ton of times I discovered that and have been able to train myself not to touch anything on balls hit to first (unless a throw is necessary.)

A lot of set's out there are very dramatic compared to these.

This set is far more about the exact way I play the game than what roster I use.

Trust the settings and the style of play they are designed for.

I learned how to not trigger that bug animation with using the stick.

Yes you can simply not touch the stick and let the CPU handle it all. And that is a viable way to avoid it. But I like to take control on those what I call "chaos" plays on ground balls to the first base side. Once you push the 1st baseman towards the bag let go. Once he locks into that animation you can simply let go of the stick. If you don't you take a chance of another animation taking control and then you get the bug.

If that what the roster is designed for then I can’t say.

Hybrid rosters work excellent with this set.

Armor's set will pretty much work in reflecting the ratings of any roster because it does stay very close to default (which is how I also build my sliders). Now, Cycloniac usually does post his sliders with all his various rosters and to be honest, I never really understood why - he does such a good job on the ratings that they'll work well with just about any slider set (and no, they are not just for simmed games).

So after losing 3 of 4 by 1-0 scores I found myself in her another 1-0 game in the 9th inning, my 3rd straight against the White Sox who have started the season 11-2. I had guys on base throughout the game but still couldn’t push a run across until the bottom of the 9th. Leadoff single by LeMahieu (I had the leadoff man on 5 times in the game), a strikeout by Judge, then FINALLY after 26 straight scoreless innings ( the last run I scored was in the 9th inning 3 games ago, ugh) Gregorious hits a walk-off 2 run homer. I was going nuts like I just won powerball. I actually woke up my wife hahaha. She doesn’t understand why it was justified though. So hopefully this win can turn my early season struggles around. Luckily I’m only 3 games out of first with a 2 game series against the hated first place Red Sox.

Advice on stealing bases. What's the technique? I usually just press L2 sometime during the pitch, but it has been awful! I'm like 5 for 30 or something close with the Angels. Trout is my only super speed guy and I don't ever steal with guys below 55 speed. Is it just a lost cause to ever even try with the 29th fastest team in the league or am I doing it wrong? Slider adjustment since I'm so slow? Computer pretty much steals at will against me too, albeit always really fast guys. 80+
