I wish there was a way to go back and see what the results would be with the power slider set to 5. I often wonder how much difference sliders make (especially just one click), but I think it can be significant.

I’m like Armor in that I want to stay as close to default as possible. For me with power and timing both at six I think I’ll end up having to bump one of those two down.

Also, I think it’s only a matter of time before you have to put CPU solid hits back at default. I’m playing with it there and dealing. One of the lowest ERA’s in the league, I can’t imagine having it a notch lower.

Try this......lower CPU timing to 3, lower CPU foul to 4 and keep CPU contact, power and solid hits at 5. I think this will put you in the ballpark of matching Ks and swing and miss and keep the CPU dangerous.....now, for your hitting, I suggest to go with armors settings and let it ride....your Homer rate will level off. Just enjoy the 6 Homer game. I think the raise in power was a must. I.e. I went into practice and put on swing info.....on 5, it seemed like I'd square up a pitch and the feedback would be ok contact and I wouldn't drive the ball with power.. But when I upped it to 6, I was starting to get results that matched the swing I put on the ball.....simply put, I think HOF is harder than years past and your hitting has been nerfed a little. You gotta raise it, IMO to make it fair.....don't feel sry for the CPU, just make the adjustments that make it real for you

Yeah, I’ll let it ride for a while. I’ve always abided by this....

As long as my stats fall within what I call the, “realm of believability,” I try not to mess with it too much. I was 29th in home runs until this last game. Could the Cubs be last? Yeah, but it sure isn’t probable. It’s when we are either first or last in a category AND by a large margin that I think it becomes an issue.

This is my exact line of thinking as well. As long as I'm not in first or dead last by a huge amount in any category, I can live with it.

            Version 4.0

Off to a 3-0 start in franchise as Porcello bested Seattle's Hernandez 4-0. Porcello went 7.2 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Hernandez had a quality start allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits and mowing down 6.

Boston jumped off to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd, when Dustin Pedroia belted a 2 out double in the right field gap plating JBJ and Benintendi, who raced around all the way from 1st.

Martinez and Bogarts both homered in the 9th to stretch Boston's lead.

Yeah im using the giants. I had to bump solid hits to 6. I was getting too many good/good hit results that were pop ups. Only played a couple games so far but i’m seeing more line drives into the gap.

I had the exact opposite in the first game I played after adjusting the sliders to V4. As I Yankees I got shut out 1-0 by Baltimore. Each team had 4 hits and both teams struck out 8 times with no HR’s for either team.

I left my timing at 5. Everything else is as OP. It's just me, I don't like messing with timing.

I played opening day of my carry over franchise with the OP set and was a great game. I lost 5 - 7, but CPU had 2 doubles and 2 HR's and I had a double, triple (off a missed catch to left center, but still scored as a triple) and a HR. 19 total hits, 2 BB's each and struck out 7 and cpu struck out 9. Fantastic game play and back and forth battle.

You can if you want or the let the CPU make that decision in the off season.

What's the most realistic choice? I don't follow baseball as closely as I do basketball and football so I'm not sure on what to do in some of these situations.

If you want absolute realism look up each teams 40 man IRL and go set them. Or let the chips fall where they may and let the CPU decide. The choice is yours. It is your universe!

I turned down CPU foul frequency to 2 and everything else at 5 and seeing plenty of k's. It helps them swing and miss on borderline pitches instead of fouling them off so much especially with power hitters.
