This wasn't in response to armors latest post, rather an ongoing dialogue kingsdream and I are having to help the CPU offense. [emoji16]

Yes I've just noticed that the CPU hook is starting to get a little worrisome. I was in a 3-3 tied ball game against Boston and the CPU yanked their starter with two outs in the fourth after he had just gotten me to hit a lazy fly out to center. Just a completely inexplicable, and weird spot for a starter to get yanked, and unfortunately it's been a legacy issue in the show for years now. I've never really found a fix for it.

I think....and it needs a few more test games of course may have found a much better slider solution.

          Human Consistency to 6
CPU foul Freq back to 3

Coupled with Human control at 6 the results have been a lot better.

Again HOF is much harder this cycle both hitting and pitching but I love the CPU pitching AI on HOF. It is simply night and day from All-Star.

          So try this combination out:

          Human control - 6
          Human consistency - 6
          CPU foul frequency -3

If you are need of an offensive boost this will work great and it is not OP at all. In fact it is a balancer because the CPU on HOF mashes. Plain and simple.

          Human contact - 6
          Human Power - 6
          Human Timing -6

Again we are near default HOF but just making enough tweaks to balance the game and not have this artificial CPU advantage but retain the far better CPU pitching AI and the more challenging HOF pitch speeds.

I will be streaming tonight starting around 10PM est!

The timing slider is the one that made a huge difference to me. The difference between 5, and 6 was immense. I ended up having to turn it back down to 5 because I felt like I was unstoppable offensively, but the thing about timing is everyone's hand-eye coordination is gonna be different. This is the one I'd definitely mess with if you want to increase/decrease your offensive production.

Makes sense. Since timing is the one thing in directional hitting that is under the user's full control, it stands to reason that the timing slider could have a pretty dramatic effect on the results. The other sliders matter too, of course, but all those are really doing in directional is modifying what the CPU controls.

So the OP is current. But the post you quoted are pitching changes I am testing and very excited about.

                Human consistency at 6
CPU foul frequency back to 3

As far as hitting those were suggestions I gave for those feeling a little overwhelmed on HOF hitting this cycle.

6,6,6 the number of the beast!! Can get you into a better place.

But IMO 6 timing and 6 Power is where I would start with getting more offense.

But those two pitching changes are money so far.

This game is money and the really nice increase in difficulty took me some time to adjust too and find the right cocktail of slider adjustments both for pitching and hitting.

Fielding and errors are excellent IMO.

Base running and steals are excellent as well.

                  Part of the fun :-)

This is the cherry on top in the final game of a 4 game series in Anaheim where I got swept... each game by one run including 3 walk offs. Lost the finale 11-10 after being up 9-3 in the 4th inning, and Chapman blowing his 2nd game of the series allowing 2 in the 9th to tie it at 10.

                  Lovely times!

I think I’ll make the pitching changes and leave the hitting for now. It’s hard but I’m getting better every game.

Hey Armor or anyone who wants to answer. I'm playing on All-star for both hitting and pitching. I use the Rays. I pitch really well outside of pretty much never getting my starter past the 6th inning due to high pitch counts. I struggle most games offensively using the sliders suggested for all-star. My question is how big is the difference going up to HOF considering a couple hitting sliders are a notch higher? I'm wondering if it's possible I'd hit better on higher difficulty with those sliders a notch higher. My big issue is power. It's a singles and some HR. I rarely get extra base hits off hits into the gap. I'm talking almost never. I'm between 50-60 games in.

The past few years have been some of the best results I’ve ever gotten in a baseball game. Everything was spot on, except for not issuing quite enough walks, which has always been a problem.

This year, however, the strikeout issue has frustrated me maybe more than it should. I’ll just try to let it play out. After all, I generally have fun playing, even if I strike out just four batters.

Last night I had arguably the craziest finish I’ve ever had on The Show. I was up 2-1 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. The Nationals pinch hit Howie Kendrick, who proceeds to hit a LOOOONG fly ball to left.

I ran back with Schwarber, jumped... and robbed the home run to end the game. I still can’t believe it. I posted the video of it in the franchise forum if you’re interested.

Playing in my Indians 2026 franchise last night and I am down 1-0 in the bottom of the 8th. The Angels number 5 starter has two hit me to this point. After 2 quick outs to start the 8th, my number 9 and 1 hitter get back to back singles.

As a note here, my son went to bed after the 3rd inning so I went to stealthily wake him up.

Back to the game. The Angels still have their starter in and I could sense something about too happen. I work the count to 2-0. Tell my son that no matter what I am swinging at the next pitch. Tell him I am sitting fastball. The pitch comes down the heart of the zone. 418 feet later to right center I have a 3-1 lead and a no doubt home run. My son who I told to be stealthy jumps up and starts screaming. End result was a win but got in trouble with the wife for waking my son back up for a game. Lol.

                            This game rocks!

I know I complain more than most on here, so sorry for that. Please just keep in mind it’s because I love baseball and I love The Show.

                                Gagnon39, it’s been a while...

I’m aware of how familiar you are with the series. I’ve picked your brain on occasion when tweaking my sliders, thank you!

With you being a long time veteran of the series one thing you might consider here is your approach? I mean, I found myself pitching to batters repetitively year after year. My “put away” pitches in “17” and “18” weren’t translating here in “19”. But, after mixing up delivery patterns I’m finding other ways to register “K”s & it feels great!!

I won’t go into MY pitch sequencing as I think this is something you should explore for yourself, but when YOU find your happy place (and you will) you’ll feel great about things...
