I’m struggling a bit with my hitting this year on HOF. Can’t seem to put together hits to score many runs. Didn’t have this problem last year. I still haven’t been able to play too much yet, however, but would you say that last year’s HOF is this year’s AllStar?

Just got home with a new ps4 pro. Giving my boys my PS4. Can't wait to see this game hooked up into my 4k TV. Stoked to see how much more awesome it is.

There are two things really going on with HOF this year that I love and also why itnis more challenging.

        1. Pitch speed - plain and simple at default 5/5 guys who throw gas.....it really is gas. So that was the first adjustment I had to make and I have.

        2. CPU pitcher AI - greatly enhanced this cycle in terms of pitch selection and pitch sequencing. You really must work counts to get high leverage situations for yourself (1-0, 2-0, 3-1 counts) to be successful consistently. Also if you get that first pitch fastball down broadway or recognize a hanging slider or fat breaking ball on a 0-0 count your timing needs to be on point and you must punish that pitch.

I am simply loving the entire under the hood AI improvments with CPU hitters and pitchers.

All-Star has also been greatly improved.

For me HOF is my wheelhouse but for some All-Star is the right place. If you fall in between stick with HOF and get more plate discipline and also enjoy the highs and lows of your 162 game season.

I can’t stress this point enough too.....if you can relax, and not feel the urge to have to finish a season so quickly and simply play every game.....even if it takes you a year to do (which it practically does for me), with carry over saves it is so worth the journey.

You will get better, you will have the full roller coaster experience of a big league season, and you will also experience all the little things this game has to offer in terms of animations, presentation, incredible moments.

        It is amazing.

Perfectly said. This damn game is so amazing. Hitting this year is so freaking awesome. One minute I'm cursing at the TV and the next I'm jumping up and down after I hit a bomb.

I'm getting ready to start my year 3 of my Braves franchise. I cant wait for the 162 game rollercoaster.

Thanks Armour. I really appreciate your detailed response. I have settled on pitch speeds of 4/5 as I have really noticed the change in pitch speeds and just can’t hit fastballs at default this year. Was at 6/7 last year. I’ve played on HIF the last several years and want to stick with it.

            Thanks again

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

Hey Armor. Just like to say I use your sliders for pretty much every game out there, as i feel our play styles, and thirst for a sim experience is similar. Just wanted to share this box score as this was a fun, nerve wracking, and relief of a game I've had yet with the show, and it really shows how these sliders can throw different games at you all the time. I fell down 6-0, then stormed back to take a 10-6 lead before having to hold on for dear life at the end. Sheer craziness.

I hit and pitch on AllStar. I'm definitely better at pitching than hitting. To get a little more offense from the CPU I have moved CPU Contact to 6 . If I still want a little more offense from CPU,would I move CPU Contact to 7 ? Or Contact and Timing to 6 ? I'm trying to find that happy balance to start up a Franchise. Thanks in advance for any help

Anyone else have a better record on HOF than All-Star? I know a lot of factors go into this. I alternate games so a 3 game series would get two of one setting. I also tried to ring a game against the computer on Vet and lost with these sliders. Having a lot of fun. Sadly (to a degree) I've played little BFV, Red Dead, and NHL and not much DD except Conquest and Moments where sliders don't apply. Mixing it up some 18 carry overs (historical rosters) and an occasional slider adjustment before I return to these sliders. Nothing seems stale, even mixing in some quick count games.

Great game this year and I just wanted to acknowledge your slider contribution.

Thank you for the detailed reply - that explains a lot more why HOF is no pushover this year.

If HOF is truly more difficult for reasons x, y, z, I might give it a shot. Last year I was pretty demoralized with The Show going 85-10 with the Colorado Rockies

Strong rumors coming out of Miami that Jeter is looking to move CF Christian Yelich and the Yankees are in hot pursuit (remember I started this franchise on 17 and Yelich is still with the Marlins in my franchise).

Supposedly the Yankees and Marlins are really close to a 3 for 1 deal involving:

                        2B Jorge Mateo (A prospect)
CF Clint Frazier (A prospect and playing great for me right now)
SP Justis Sheffield (A Prospect and having a strong season in AAA)

                        For Yellich.

If the Yankees pull this deal off They would have an outfield of:

                        RF Judge
                        CF Yelich
                        LF Harper

But the big factor holding this deal back is how will they be able to keep all three? Harper already makes north of 27MM per season. Judge is going to cost them 30MM per year and Yellich has 2 more years left at 7MM but is also a 25MM plus. Then factor in Severino, Turner, Andujar, Torres.....it seems this deal can destroy them financially.

And with that....I do not see the deal being made. They have to pay Judge and Turner in addition to Severino. Frazier, Andujar and Torres have several years under team control. Plus they love Shefield’s future with Joel Cardenas (Cuban import). But oh my....what an OF that would have been.

Thought I would share some rumor mill stuff already heating up in my year 3 franchise.

Hitting for me is great and so is my starting pitching on HOF but my Yankee bullpen has been the Achilles heel. Not good. Game is playing awesome though and I am having a lot of fun .

Anyone playing as the Rockies have any advice/tips on how to pitch at Coors Field? I am getting clobbered in every home game. Pitching on HOF with these sliders.

Would you raise power or solid hits in order to get more extra base hits and homeruns? I am through roughly 25-30 games and about 70-80% of hits are for singles.
