Can anyone tell me if it’s necessary to finish a season in a franchise before you can carry over to 19 from 18
I tried to carry over a franchise and it stated I had not made it through a calendar year

Is it a carry over from the show 17? I think if you pull to 18 and don't finish the 17 season it makes you finish it. I had this happen with a franchise I use to carry over my old CAPs. I might be wrong though. It's the only thing I could think of.

Is anyone else just overall sucking this year? In a weird way I kind of like it, having to grind out wins and play through tough losses. I just can't get to .500. I'm finding ways to lose games, not win them. I'm currently 8-11. Tied for last place in the NL Central. But I always feel like I'm just a game or two away from really turning things around. What worries me a little is that my schedule isn't that strong to start the year, so when I actually have to play good teams it could get bad.

I’ve only played 2 games of my Yankees franchise so far and I’m sure struggling with pitch speed this year. Was at 6/7 last year and will be going down to 3/4 in my next game. I’m on HOF using zoom camera angle like I have the past several years and can’t catch up to even low 90’s fastballs.

I am for sure and I love it.
I am 19-18 now in my Reds season, every game is a struggle and its really fun.
Last year I somewhat struggled too, I did go 85-77 with the Reds and missed the WC by 3 games.
It is really weird how similar my season in the show and the Reds real season is going.
I have surprisingly struggled to hit just like they have. While my starting pitching has been way better than I expected, just like theirs.

Gagnon my advice to you is to turn on the swing/pitch info. It’ll help you learn your pitchers release points. Absolute game changer for me. I’m actually striking guys out and blowing fastballs by them now. Forget the tap or max effort. Learn their release points

Am i just blind or does it only show the batters swing info when that’s on when you’re pitching?

I am no doubt grinding right now. I have had some really tough 1 run losses...like a lot of them. But I love it.

I feel like last night I finally broke out of my offensive slumber. But when I face top pitchers? It is a different animal this cycle on HOF. But I am starting to really find my footing and laying off the high fastballs better now. That has been my Achilles heal here early. That high heater is deadly on HOF this year. Just deadly.

Tonight we face Carlos Carrasco and the Royals (he signed there as a free agent). And we are putting a green rookie from Cuba on the mound.......get your popcorn out for this one.

Im with you, I have a really hard time catching up with fastballs this year.
I have never had this problem before.

No doubt go grab the 1987 Full Minors on 19.

PJSnell is also going to release his 1989 and 1990 rosters later this cycle.

I would try this first......click human timing up to 6 before you drop pitch speeds.

5/5 Burgess. And I love it.

This is the first year of the show I’ve ever been able to hit with pitch speed sliders higher than 2. For some reason 5 feels so natural this year.

Unrelated note: I think I’m scrapping the Rockies franchise I started and going back to the Yankees as usual. Rockies are fun to play with, but Coors Field is not. Pitchers take a beating there and my bullpen was gassed after the opening series. So it’ll be back to da Bronx for me

You’ll find your swing, believe me. I actually had a harder time hitting with lower speeds so far this year. I was sitting back on everything because it was coming in so slow. Curveballs were floating in like a softball which caused my timing to be waaaay off either early or late. And I couldn’t pull anything. With 5/5 I can pull an inside fastball down the line because I anticipate it a little and get the barrel of the bat out in front just enough.
