My son's football started, but I am hoping to get back grinding games out soon.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

I haven't played The Show much this year, sporadically with these great sliders.
I guess I made a mistake by going to PCComment

Man I'm really struggling with the Pirates. I'm 6-18. Josh Bell has not hit a single home run and as a team I have hit 10 total home runs. My pitching is fairly solid and keeps me in most games. But I can't score runs. Countless times I will have bases loaded with no outs and not score! I also get picked off at first at least 3-5 times every 10 games (how many times per season does that happen in real mlb between all teams???). I lose games in the most bizarre ways imaginable. Routine fly balls dropped in crucial situations. Routine ground ball to shortstop and he throws the ball over the head of the first baseman into the stands. Non power hitters hitting low sinkers over the fence for home runs. The game is awesome but I am very frustrated and don't know what to do.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Just need a little help, this is my first year where I am all in with The Show and my Tribe Franchise. Loaded my Rosters and Armor's Sliders, took care of the
notifications, set my scouts up, and set up player training.
Starting my Franchise tonight, what I was wondering with scouting, I set it up and they find players right? Or do I have to select the players? And training how often do you guys switch up the different training? Like do you set different training every week or every month those are the only 2 things I'm having the most trouble with.Comment

I don't know about anyone else but I always leave scouting and training on auto, if I was to change anything training wise it would be pitcher stamina.Comment

I leave scouting on auto too. I look over and change training at the beginning of every month.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Boy have I hit a rough patch recently in my Phillies Franchise. I play every pitch of every game. After starting the season 18-11 in March/April, we are currently 7-7 in the month of May. The pitching has just completely fallen apart in this month. I had to option BOTH Jerad Eickhoff (5.34 ERA) and Zach Eflin (6.35 ERA) to Triple-A. They were getting shelled. Jake Arrieta hasn't been great either. He is 4-1 but his ERA currently is 5.44. I called up Nick Pivetta and Cole Irvin to replace Eickhoff and Eflin. Pivetta has struggled as well to the tune of an 8.22 ERA in 3 starts.
I need to figure something out. My bullpen has been taxed. Especially during my last 4 game series with the Brewers. I'll get to that shortly. Through 14 games in May, we have pitched 122 2/3 innings and allowed 144 hits, 34 walks, and 80 earned runs for an ERA of 5.89. Brutal. Pitching staff has also struck out 96 in that span.
The bullpen has been awful this month. They have pitched 54 1/3 innings and allowed 50 hits, 15 walks, and 31 earned runs for an ERA of 5.15. Bullpen has 46 strikeouts in that span. I had to option lefty Adam Morgan (7.27 ERA) to Triple-A. He's allowed 33 hits and 14 earned runs in 17 1/3 innings pitched. Ouch.
Cole Irvin has earned another start after his big league debut but I have now started looking to the trade market to acquire help.
So onto my last series which was 4 games against the Brewers at home. I lost 3 games in the series, the last two of which were absolute slugfests. They outscored us 32-20 in the series.
Game 1: Lost 5-2
Game 2: Won 3-2
Game 3: Lost 14-9
Game 4: Lost 11-6
Christian Yelich absolutely destroyed me in the series going 10 for 18 (.555) with 2 doubles, 5 home runs, and 11 RBI. One of those games was a 3 homer game for him.
The pitching has to get better. Our lead in the division is shrinking. We only have a 2 game lead now as the Mets have won 6 straight and 8 of their last 10 and are hot on our trail. Meanwhile we have lost 7 of our last 10.
Oh the ebbs and flows of baseball!

Nola's been just alright for me (2-4, 3.92 ERA), having the same experience with Arrieta (4-2 5.55 ERA), Velasquez is pitching really well (5-0, 2.73) and Pivetta of all guys is my ace right now (4-2 0.95 ERA, WHIP just above 1.00). But that fifth spot....ugh. Started the season with Eflin who was giving up tons of hits and had an ERA around 6.50. So after four or five starts I moved him into the pen and traded Altherr and Walding for Stephen Matz (he was on the block) to get a lefty in the rotation....three starts, 0-2, ERA went from ~2.60 up to ~6.90. So sent Matz to AAA to chill out for a while, and just called up Eickhoff who had a decent start the other day, I'll give him a few more before deciding if he is the guy or if we will give Matz another go. Irvin is not an option for me right now because he has been on/off the IL for the last month with various ailments, I think he only has three starts so far this year.
Mets and I both got crappy deals in that trade since Altherr is batting .111 off the bench for them and Walding only .200 in AAA.
Bullpen has been inconsistent for me as well, having good performances from Alvarez, Nicasio and Hunter, but Neris, Dominguez, Neshek and now Eflin have been up and down.
How's your offense? We were killing it March/April but May has cooled off a bit. My main sluggers are Harper (.317, 13 HRs 41 RBIs), McCutchen (.316, 10 HRs) and Hoskins (.278, 11 HRs 33 RBIs), and struggling with Realmuto (.243), Franco (.248) and Segura (.272, dropped 40-50 points in May) right now. Player of the month so far is Herrera who now has a 12 game hitting streak and brought his average up from .180(!) up to .282 in that time. Overall while we're winning games, its pitching of all things that has kept us competitive.
Kingery is starting at second since Hernandez went down with a broken ankle at the start of April and is doing well so far (.280, 1 HR, 11 RBIs). Rodriguez has been crushing it off the bench (.441 with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs) but we need to make some moves to shore that up since Williams, Gosselin and Knapp are not getting it done.
We're one game up on the Braves for first in the East...I think we will extend that lead as we move forward, they went on a 12 game winning streak in April but are 3-7 over their last 10. Mets are just under .500, Marlins are anemic; and the Nationals are above average but they give me a lot of trouble (2-6 against them so far this year)Comment
