Josh, how do you think Armor sliders would play on All Star in comparison to yours?

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
They'd be easier in general....and very easy on the user pitching side (due to the higher consistency slider and lowered foul frequency slider).Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
One of the most frustrating half innings I've ever had, pitching with Andy Sacramento on the bump. In the 3rd inning after cruising through 2, I completely lost the strike zone and walked the first 3 hitters of the inning to load the bases, and then gave up five (5) weak, ground ball singles in a row; each one only able to score the runner from 3rd but not from 2nd. Like a little merry-go-round, not a hard hit ball in the bunch, but each seeing its way through the infield. Then, like magic, I struck the next 3 batters out in order. Threw something like 45 pitches in the inning, with 3 Ks, 3 BB, 5 Hits, and 5 ER.Comment

Dropping in for an update on my AS+ Yankee franchise. Currently in 1st place with a 47-27 record, with just a 0.5 lead over the Red Sox who stand at 47-28. Just went 2-1 at Fenway and then split a two game series with Pittsburgh. We'll finish up our 9 game road trip with the struggling Twins who have lost 5 in a row and 6 of their last 10. They and the Indians are just 1.5 games behind the White Sox. Looking forward to the Twins series as it should be a slug fest.
D.J. LeMahieu is leading the league with a .380 batting average. Gleyber Torres is the Yanks leading home run hitter with 24. Stanton is next with 19, Judge and Voit are sitting on 18, Sanchez 17, and Gardiner rounds out the starters with 15. J.D Martinez leads the league with 29, and the White Sox Jose Abreu is hot on his tail with 28.
The only change I've made from the last OP slider set was to increase the injury slider to 10 per Armor & Swords set as I've gotten only a couple of day to day injuries. Lost Judge for a few days with a bruised arm when he made a spectacular catch vs Pittsburgh.
Man I love this game!Comment

I was actually coming here to mention injuries. I still have them as set in the OP and have only seen a few minor injuries, mostly to relievers. I had one to a starter for 3 days so he didn't miss a start. I've had relievers miss a day or two so real real impact from missing them. I had Roman Quinn miss a game or two, my only injury to a position player. I do use my whole roster and give guys days off so maybe that plays into it.

Again though, this is with Bacon's roster...people using current day rosters...no idea how it might look for you.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
I've seen numerous injuries in played games (probably 12-14 total for my team and maybe another half dozen or so for the other team) and I have 2 more games left in June. I've lost guys for months at a time and I've had several more minor injuries. I know lhsballa has had numerous key injuries in his Tigers franchise.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
I use Ridin 2.1 roster and injuries 10 when playing and 6 simming and it works fine for me I think. Some day-to-day injuries, some 1-2 weeks and then of course those season ending injuries to me and CPU aswell. Couple of SPs have went down early after throwing a pitch. I also managed to injure Eduardo Nunez (IIRC) after hitting him with a pitch breaking his finger.
Only long term injuries for me have been minor leaguers so nothing too badComment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
Just played the first two of a 4 game set vs the Twins. Lost the first game 4-1 as Jose Berrios kept NY off balance as they could only manage 5 hits and the lone run was off a wild pitch.
In the second game Gerritt Cole took the loss as Minnesota knocked him around for 6 runs, including 3 home runs, in just 2 2/3 innings. Kenta Maeda baffled the Bombers as he threw 7 1/3 innings of no hit ball. Brett Gardiner ended his no hit bid with a 407 ft blast for our only hit of the game.
Love this game!Comment

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Josh's set + Bacon's Roster= The Best Sim Experience in gaming!
I'm at game 120 with my fictional Tigers, and injuries have been really good using the OP.
I've had little 10 day pulls, and 80 day hand fractures (Houston is my nemesis after bean balling stud 3B Jaylen Pain)Twitch: Goblue81188Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders
So, after feeling a little too comfortable on the pitch speed settings I've been using since I first started playing this game series in April, I finally went to 7/6 (from 6/5), and man, the exact change I needed to get me back on my toes, more focused on what pitches are being thrown, etc. A ton more opposite field hits (and outs), and a definitive spike in my K's. I know a lot of you guys who have played this franchise for years and years are 10/9 or whatever, and I hope to keep climbing the ladder, but for now, this minor tweak was just what the doctor ordered. I feel like I did playing the game 6 weeks ago -- struggling with good SP in several games, trying to get to weaker relievers when they come in, and really working to get things timed up right. Awesome stuff.Comment
