He's been very solid. Great velo/stuff and good enough control (better than most of the flotsam I've been running out there).


(For those of you who don't know....he's a RP I picked up in my fictional Braves franchise. Just a C potential youngster with a mid-60s OVR, but a definite weapon.)

I havent posted much this year or streamed for that matter. I have been playing though and just wanted to say, this is a good solid set Josh. Its been playing really well for me. Happy gaming and enjoy man.

What more can be said about the set? Its terrific.

I'm currently at game 123 of my Tigers Bacon Franchise, and we are cruising to a 1st round bye.

Sort of in those "dog days of summer" trying to push through August. I personally can NOT wait to see postseason action.

To play 155+ games (I simmed 3 early season to try to cool off my staff lol), and then see the postseason ahead, is just incredible.

We've been fueled by a truly dominant starting staff and some very timely power bats, all season long.

We hope to get a few of our pieces healthy down the stretch and try and take home the title!

Will stop by and let you all know when I do hit the postseason- all my games will be streamed on Twitch as usual

I'm at game 103 myself (41-61); last year, I didn't hit the end of the season until December. Right now, I'm probably looking at late August-September for completion and I'm definitely gunning for finishing 2 seasons this cycle.

I keep ogling other rosters; but man...I just don't know that I care. I'm so utterly ensconced with this team, these players, this league...

Ive thought about the fictional roster, but I have to admit, I love the real roster. I love seeing where players go and how they help new teams. To me, thats a fun part of the game. I love playing the game, but I am more in love with the behind the scenes of it. I do 30 team control. I will let the cpu do its thing, but every once in awhile I will make a helping trade/signing that might just give a long shot a little boost.

Ive thought about the fictional roster, but I have to admit, I love the real roster. I love seeing where players go and how they help new teams. To me, thats a fun part of the game. I love playing the game, but I am more in love with the behind the scenes of it. I do 30 team control. I will let the cpu do its thing, but every once in awhile I will make a helping trade/signing that might just give a long shot a little boost.

I really struggle with the "Real" rosters these days. With the fictional roster, I'm actually digging into other teams' farm systems because I don't know what's there. I'm diving deep into individual ratings, assessing not only ratings, but quirks, their hot zones, etc. As I am controlling just my team, I'm really role-playing as that GM/Manager/Scout all rolled into one (and viewing it through the lens of "how can I improve my team"). On the other side, I have that owner and his demands that we win or else (and that just adds a whole other layer to the drama).

With real rosters, it's like, "Yup, the Angels have Jo Adell; the Mariners have Kelenic....etc". Add to that, the "backstory" has already been written. There just isn't as much mystery for me. I mean, heck, it took me 2 months to realize my 27 yr old OF from South Korea was a rookie (and signed to a long deal)...basically...a KBO import.

I'm not trying to "convert" you or anything; I just love that we have the ability to play the same mode from a totally different POV.

(and I wondered if anyone would pick up on my new sig...lol)

Ive looked at them and i seriously almost started another chise with them. I still may at some point. It does look intriguing and a lot of fun. If I do, I will probably do a sigle GM for that one as it wont matter what the CPU does as it looks more balanced.
It is cool to see the different POV's and how the gameplys within it.

Last night I started a franchise with Bacon's roster. Started in Spring because if I am going to do this, I want to do it 100%. So far its really interesting. I only made through set up, observing players and such and 1 spring game last night, but WOW is all I can say.
IDK if its you dont know these players like you would a regular roster (OSFM as a example) so you dont know what to expect or you dont have that certain "expectation" of a player. It really frees your mind to be more open about what you can and do with players. I was going to just play this one in my spare time and have fun with it, but Im working and already thinking of playing it again tonight.

I did go with the Tribe. I really was going to go random, but had to stick with them.

At the start, the roster really grabbed me. Key guys, but most with some age to them. Will really be interesting.

Thanks for the tips. I'll go back and look at that. I did notice a high payroll year one, and no money going out yr2. I'll have to go back and really inspect that. Durability, I often ignore (or more just fast glance) so I'll be sure to look at that.

Just to add also, I am going with manual shifts as well. Auto has costed me to many times.

I have been loving the combination of these sliders with Bacons rosters. I am up to 2024 doing a play 1, sim 5 cycle. I rebranded the hated Red Sox as the Atlantis Aliens and did a fantasy draft where I only drafted the first 5 picks. I won the WS in 2022 with my team but am starting to run into some budgetary issues.

One momentous occasion with this roster/slider combo was that I pitched my very first perfect game (and no hitter) since MVP baseball 05. I haven’t gone through more than 4 innings without allowing a hit with this team but one perfect storm was all it took.

I was lucky that I faced a sub par Indians team with a number of backups in the lineup. Plus the wind was blowing 10MPH in which helped keep a couple fly balls in the yard. Finally 3 or 4 hard hit line drives went right to my 3B and SS which kept the perfect game alive.

Overall, thanks Josh for a great slider set that pairs with Bacons roster perfectly.

Ok, so I created another profile so I could be AS+. 18 innings and I'm AS+ batting but can't get past AS for pitching. Whenever I get close, bam hitting rally and drop to almost veteran.

I am putting the dynamic slider to 10 when pitching and 0 when batting. It's getting irritating lol

What I did was turn it to 10 go into play now and use one of the all time teams vs. a double a team and in 2 or 3 innings I can get it up to AS+ pretty quickly.
