Would increasing the human hitting timing throw other things off related to your slider set to help compensate for ramping up pitch speeds to 10 (which I do for a more realistic look)?

Yeah, anytime you stretch a non pitch speed slider beyond a 1-point difference, you run the risk of imbalancing the game. I highly recommend abstaining from this change.

Plus, ultra-high pitch speeds are actually easier to hit off of. Increasing timing on top of that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

How’s 8/7 pitch speed working for you? I’m Concerned about being able to pull anything? Also you never found it necessary to turn down user power?

It's working well for me. There is still enough of a perceived speed difference between fastballs and offspeed stuff to keep me on my toes while the slight tick of extra speed has helped re-balance things for me.

And no, I don't use any of the 2020-based rosters, so I never found the need to lower the power slider.

Plodding my way through Year 1 postseason, just wanted to express my excitement for next-gen MLB though.

Running 20 on the PS5, is unbelievable. Game looks out of this world, and runs absolutely BUTTERY smooth- on all video settings. I'm playing at 2160p here, and not noticing much of a downside.

I hit a wall with this game just recently where I was hitting everything and scoring 5+ runs a game (usually double digits) and getting at least a dozen hits. So last night I upped fastball speed one notch, kept off speed the same and...it's a game changer. I lost three games in a row, scoring maybe 3 total runs and collecting maybe 10 hits. Frustrated, I upped off-speed one notch to match the fastball speed and even though all pitches were now coming in faster than before, I went back to mashing. It's absolutely true that slower off speed pitches makes for a way more challenging game. I look forward to figuring this out.

I’ve settled on 7/6 pitch speed. The OP has it at 8/7. I really have a hard pulling anything when it gets that high. Nearly every slider set will have pitch speed labeled as “User preference “ which I don’t really understand why that is? It’s been a struggle for me to “figure out” this particular slider setting as well.

Pitch speed is very much up to the user because it is partly based on a person's monitor/TV response time and so on. It has NO impact on the AI whatsoever; it is purely a user "comfort" thing.

I started at 7/6 for a long while but after getting a really good taste for things, needed a bump to 8/7. It's hard, but it is supposed to be. If you can easily time things up at 7/6, you need a bump. If not, then 7/6 is where you should have it.

Rule of thumb: You should feel decently comfortable at 90-92 MPH, somewhat at 95 MPH, and have a really tough time in the upper 90s unless you are sitting fastball. For me, that setting is at 8/7.

I don't disagree with this thought at all but camera plays into it also... like I play with Outfield cams and there is no way to gage a left hander or southpaw at that speed... everything would seem way outside or the one's in the middle to drive end up off the inside corner...

Josh, have they fixed (applied) the trade deadline rule, or do we have to adjust the trade slider to 0 after the deadline?

Our fictional Tigers dispatched the pesky A’s in a clean sweep, advancing to the ALCS.

We watched closely as the Red Sox and Astros battled to a deciding Game 5. Much to our disappointment, the Sox got it done. Had quite a rivalry with Houston during the season, and thought from a matchup it would’ve been more enjoyable.

The Sox are riding a hot lineup, but are very beat up in their rotation.

Things played out accordingly in game 1, as two 2 run HR’s brought us home a 5-2 victory.

I don’t think Boston’s staff can keep them in this series, but let’s see.

The vaunted Pirates loom large in the NL, where they have laid waste to teams in the post season. Would be quite the WS matchup, Pirates were the only team to finish with a winning record vs me in the regular season.

We won’t count our chickens yet, but would be one HELL of a matchup.

Does anybody happen to know if, in franchise mode, the player energy bar (which is tied to durability ratings) has a real impact on player performance? For example, if a player has a half-full energy bar (but you're not getting prompted to give him a rest day) will he hit and play defense with the same abilities as if they had full energy? Or would abilities be diminished to some extent?

If thought I noticed a difference in performance over time but it could have just been coincidence.

The only thing I have ever observed is they are more susceptible to injury.

Thanks! I guess it could have just been placebo thinking that abilities may be tied to how much energy they have left in the tank.

I agree with Armor, it definitely ties to injuries. But I also feel like players struggle when tired for long periods of time. That said, sometimes your best players at 70% are better than the dudes on the bench
