I’ll Be watching and chiming in when I can. Think we only need a few slight tweaks to the set you have posted in the OP.

Me too Dowie I’ve always used the ball marker on but may try it off this year but ngl it does scare me a bit [emoji28]. The other thing for me is I like to have API on as I’m not sure about pitch locations to throw other than the obvious (e.g. no high changeups/curveballs etc.). I haven’t always followed it 100% of the time but I just feel like I’d be a bit lost with it off…

          Hey A&S,
I use your clean screen approach and sliders for many years now...even found a good broadcast view to bat from to complete the MLB look/experience . One thing this year, are you finding it really difficult to not throw the ball offline trying to get an out at first or turn a DP? I use analog, meter off and unlike last year it seems like every other throw is off the mark...i recall this happening in past versions but can't recall which version but it was ultimately fixed. maybe i will have to switch to button throwing if you're not seeing this problem this year.
          Thanks.

I’ve been testing pitch speed between 5/5, 6/6, and 7/7.

I’ve noticed that as soon as I move away from 5/5 my hit variety goes down. I see less inside pitches pulled down the line on good contact and more weak hits to the opposite way or routine fly outs to left. Sample size is roughly 10 games each test, so take it for what it is. However, just moved back to 5/5 and already sit better hit variety.

likely user preference, but I agree with you. Default yields great hit variety and I am still late on plenty of FB's.

I actually think default pitch speeds should never be changed...change hitting view instead if default speeds are too easy.

THIS 100%. Over 30 games in, and this is true after moving around default contact at 5. I believe 5 is the number.

So contact and power are up for the cpu and user? What made you go from four to six in the power slider’s?
I will say while waiting for a solid slider set on all star with the power at 5 and contact at 6 I’ve had no issues giving up extra base hits or long balls.

Honestly man I don’t even look at it when it comes out the hand. Just react when it starts coming to the plate. Noticed that works a lot better for me. When I watch from the hand, I want to swing at everything.

I’ve always looked at the pitchers cap. Then react as it comes in.

This may be true - for you

I’ve been a loyal follower of Armour for years and believe, as he does, that hit variety comes from solid hits slider.

Pitch speed is completely user preference (ability). I’m a 58 year old player and with only a few games under my belt this year, I’ve found that I’m pulling too many 97+ mph fastballs on 5/5 when I wasn’t necessarily sitting on them. This isn’t that realistic FOR ME.

I’ve been using 6/6 for my last several games and am still seeing plenty of hit variety. The game I’m playing now I’m in the 5th inning and winning 2-1 as the Phillies against Verlander and the Astros.

I have “only” 5 hits - an infield single that bounced off Verlander, a bloop single (pulled), an offield double, a double by Castellanos pulled down the line and a single up the middle. I have also struck out 7 times which seems pretty realistic as well.
