Any tips for picking up the ball out of the pitchers hand

MLB players are trained to stare at the pitcher's release point. They don't watch the arm during wind up, etc. However, in a video game whatever works!

So contact and power are up for the cpu and user? What made you go from four to six in the power slider’s?
I will say while waiting for a solid slider set on all star with the power at 5 and contact at 6 I’ve had no issues giving up extra base hits or long balls.

All-star is different from HOF.

The offense as a whole needed a slight wrench turn and we are testing that slight wrench turn.

You are certainly the sliders expert Armour and I always follow your exact set.

In my humble opinion I do feel that both offences might need a little more ooomph this year. I don’t like to seemingly give me an advantage by increasing hitting sliders, and I want to be “fairly” challenged, but after playing several games neither side has experienced a big inning. Hard hit balls seem few and far between.

I look forward to the results of your testing.

All I need is your final slider set and Ridin’s roster so I can start my Yankees and Phillies franchises.

Former Mike Lowe slider set user, first year with Armor. Loving it so far. I’m in game 15 and love how different each game feels. I go from 14 hit 4 homer games to be no hit through 8 by the Yankees the next. Two concerns I’ve seen and curious if anyone else has seen them. First is more a slider correlated one- in game injury. I’ve had two season ending injuries in the first 15 games and 3 10 dl stints. Could just be bad luck on my part but curious to see anyone else’s feedback, in prior years injuries were always almost a want and hope to get one to make it realistic and now that I’m getting my wish I’m a little worried I can make it through 162. The second isn’t not really a slider concern but jeez laweeez do the cpu have awful base running awareness on balls in the dirt. They try to advance on anything. I’ve had a couple times I switched teams and moved that back to first safely to make it more realistic.

I’ve been testing pitch speed between 5/5, 6/6, and 7/7.



I’ve noticed that as soon as I move away from 5/5 my hit variety goes down. I see less inside pitches pulled down the line on good contact and more weak hits to the opposite way or routine fly outs to left. Sample size is roughly 10 games each test, so take it for what it is. However, just moved back to 5/5 and already sit better hit variety.

Pitch speed is def user preference as many have stated - me personally, I use 9/9. I started on 10/10 but dropped it down 1 for each. I still get the appropriate amount of hits over the course of games played, still hit HR’s, but I can’t see some pitches as good and it makes me strike out, defensive bat, etc..

Find your balance. Dial it up for a few games, take it down for a few games. Funnily enough, I tried 5/5 today and jeez… I was ‘red early’ on 99mph fastballs [emoji23][emoji23]

Today was the first day using A&S sliders and I think I’m in love. Still didn’t walk very many batters but that’s okay, I walked more than I have been on meter.

Only major difference is I set foul frequency to ZERO, there’s more than enough pulled balls in this game that go foul, so I wanted to reduce that. I also use 9/9 pitch speed and Fisheye 2 for batting.

As for my games they went as follows: (I play as the A’s)

Baltimore 6 with 13 hits, Oakland 11 with 15 hits *by far my best game hitting and scoring with this team*

Baltimore 3 with 7 hits, Oakland 7 with 11 hits.

Texas 4 with 15 hits, Oakland 3 with 7 hits *this one went 11 innings too*

Great games, realistic outcomes given the teams, I wouldn’t change much at this point. Just my two cents.

Lastly before bed, perhaps scale down the power from 5 to 4. I see a lot of home runs, roughly 7 or 8 total in 3 games. Need to do more testing for sure before I change anything however.

Really enjoying the newest beta v3! Super pumped about this game

Armor: I play as the Brewers, so take this for what it is, but I feel like pitching is too easy. I know the Brewers arguably have the best pitching in baseball, but if I wanted more of a challenge would you up to Legend or adjust sliders?

I am seeing just a tad too many fouls for my liking perhaps 1 click to the left? Keeping an eye on it. Too many AB’s lasting 7,8 or 9 pitches.

Injuires are a real threat now. I love the improvements and the separate sliders. Plus we also have the injury matrix!!!!
