Posting this to give Armour some feedback FWIW

I’ve moved pitch speeds up to 6/6. I was pulling 98+ fastballs a little to easily at 5/5.

Certainly more of a challenge and realistic at 6/6

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

Wish I could share your enthusiasm but I played 10 games, HOF with sliders similar to yours and I never moved the L thumbstick while pitching...just pressed X to R1 and R1 back to X and only used X swing when batting to test the AI

Won 7 out of 10 games
AI was thrown out at 3rd 5 times
AI was caught stealing 7 out of 10 times
AI hit 16 one run HRs
      I hit 19 HRS
AI walked me only 3 times
      I walked AI 6 times
I was caught looking 32 times trying to get a walk
Only 3 errors by both sides in 10 games even when I have fielding errors bumped up by 1 and all 3 were by the 3B

I mean, maybe that is current baseball, but to me, it seems as broken as it has been the last 2 years and the only testing they do with Pitching and hitting is Diamond Dynasty H2H mode

I will state one success. After my ten games I played 5 more with my sliders raising contact by one, lowering power by 1, lowering fielder speed and reaction and foul frequency by 2 and baserunner speed up by 1 with base stealing success up by 1 and base stealing chances by 2 and I got some triples and decent sb% and the game actually looked like a 70s/80s game with CPU trying hit and runs and bunting while guarding the lines more

Oh, the commentary got repetitive by the 4th game, which I didn't think was possible with how repetitive the last crew became.

As for Franchise I simmed a season

Still no L/R splits for pitchers and many LHers tend to do better vs RHer and vice versa like last year
Still have no R/L splits in lineup menu

Still have durability to indicate stamina and injury, so if you wanted realistic Catchers and put their durability in the low 60s, most will be injured during the season, when in fact they are usually more durable but need days off during the week. Austin Nola & Christian Vasquez caught 155 & 158 games due to durability rating
      Concurrently, very few RP injuries

Roster Mgmt is still so bad that it has to be micromanaged. The Red Sox let Chris Sale and James Paxton play all season in AAA

Most Gold Glove candidates had F% of .995 or higher

Still no range factor for position played so some utility guys almost won GGs for filling in for injured players

Trade logic...oh boy. So many teams traded players they just signed as FA this offseason and were still competing. It seems a tad better but still teams will trade for a LF even if they have 2 RFs having fantastic seasons

Stadium creator, most of the ballparks are black in the Vault, you can't see anything.

Lastly, the music actually got worse

Glad you are enjoying it, but glad I didn't purchase it and could play it via Xbox cloud gaming

For some of your later posts, I agree with the 8 pitch warmup, sometimes you notice if a guys slider is just not working with warmups and that is very important for a guy with only 3 pitches which is what most relievers have

With classic pitching, don't just save the long press for strike 2 counts, I had more success using it with 1 strike on the batter and then dropping a light press breaking ball in the dirt

As for pitcher control at 4, I keep that at 5 but lower pitcher consistency to 4. That not only makes me lose feel sometimes and give up walks to the cpu but every once in awhile I am trying to break an inside changeup or curve and it is served up for the AI to blast it even with CPU power at 4

Best way to go opposite field is sit back on pitches on the outside corner. Works best with LH hitters. Also lower foul frequency by 2

I did notice this in my Blue Jays franchise, but second time through the rotation (almost, Kikuchi pitches next) and the CPU offense has picked up.

Interesting. Because I have the opposite problem, I’m lights out on classic HoF using armors approach. And other than trying to get the CPU to be challenging this game is fantastic..

Guys big bug you should be aware of: if you quick manage in the middle of a game it will NOT record the stats from when you were actually playing! Neither of the homeruns I hit were recorded in the player’s season stats postgame after I QM’d a blowout loss.

Today I’m testing human control at 4, cpu solid hits at 5, Contact at 6 and power 4.

So far I’m really enjoying the challenge to pitching to the cpu. Still striking them out at a realistic clip, walked a few guys and have allowed 3 runs on 5 hits through 5 innings.

This game is so good on the ps5……smooth as butter.

                    Slider tuning shouldn’t take long.

I think fld run spd/ fld rct needs to be raised.

I am seeing terrible jumps and routes to the ball with highly rated fielders…….a lot!

                      Leave fielder reaction at 4

Move fielder run speed to 4 (from 3)

Don't post much, but ALWAYS use the sliders exactly as advertised......thanks Armor & everyone that tests.

Foul ball frequency is something that seems off. I have CPU at 4 and they seem to get 30+ a game. The last game they fouled off 56 pitches. That doesn't seem right?

                        Please advise.

                        Thank you

This has plagued the game for the past few years. Lower fouls to 0 or 1 and you will see more balls stay in play down the lines. Not a perfect remedy, but it does help.

I read a while back that the average MLB game has around 50 foul balls

That’s total per game not per team

Yea, 50 per game combined is what we see in real life on average. How are they fouling these pitches off usually? Are they fouling them straight back, foul tips to stay alive, pulling the ball just foul? That can probably help you figure out what you need to potentially tweak.
