Now to figure out 30 team control …. Lol

In USer settings, go to Simulation by R1, do what Armor says in OP and then in Mode-Specific put what you want to control for YOUR team in Franchise. I usually keep everything manual except Scouting which is Auto.

Save that by clikcing the 3 horizontal dots and name it something like FULL CONTROL and save as preset

NOW without leaving, go into Mode Specific put what you want to the AI to handle for all other teams. I am a micro manager so I set lineups/rotation, 40 man, roster moves to manual and everything else AUTO.

    Now save this as CPU

When you start Franchise make sure you ignore budgets or AI will do some stupid things and then go back into User settings and their should be something on the bottom called associations. Make sure your team is full control and AI teams are CPU

Going off my head here but I think that is it

Even though I am not there in Ohio any more I still have too many memories of the old name. I have accepted it has changed but I only call them Cleveland now in conversation.

Don't forget though... We also have an inept football team there... Lol...

Got a few games in last name with Beta 3. Gonna be straight to the point. I’m not liking power at 6. Seeing a lot more home runs but also too many hard fly ball outs now.

Human control back to 5 is allowing me to hit the strike zone way too easily. 4 was the absolute sweet spot even with the raise in cpu contact.

Cpu contact at 6 is much needed.

Cpu consistency has to be raised. They hit me so much, miss their spots by like 5 feet constantly and throw tons of wild pitches when I have runners on base.

I’ll report back more of what I see in the next few days.

Something exciting I’m seeing more this year than any other is cold/hot streaks being more pronounced with not just players but teams as a whole. I started my Yankee season hot in the first 10 games mashing 24 hrs and Aaron Judge alone had 5. I was about to lower the power slider then out of nowhere I went on a cold streak. Now I’m finding it more difficult to hit for power. So make sure when your testing sliders you have a big sample size. You need to go through streaks IMO especially this year to dial in these sliders.

I just want to say I had a gem of a game last night.

I've followed Armors sloders, feels like years now, but not to the tee. I use his sliders as a base with some tweaks that work for me.

But I finally had a 2-0 shutout game in my Phillies chise against the As. Wheeler went 7 innings, 11 Ks, 4 hits and 5 walks allowed. Bullpen shut the game down.

It was also the 1st game where no HRs were hit, only scored off base hits.

Felt like I was playing 20 again with how the game played out.

Guys definitely should not panick if you're seeing some things you don't like yet, those games will come.

I can’t reiterate that enough. The variety is going to be there as you keep playing.

Use the set a base and tweak to your skill level and desires.

We are still in full on testing mode and I am in no rush to certify (for lack of a better term lol) Version 1 just yet. I still have things I am working thru in terms of pitching, defense and injuries.

One thing with CPU contact and power at 6/6……you can’t lose focus pitching on HOF.

I also feel that hitting is a little easier on beta V3. Hit two home runs using “contact” swing, although a cool experience, I feel I’m just getting 11-15 hits a game with a very poor hitting team.

I will continue testing. Oh and pitcher control at 4 seemed better for me, faced 80+ hitters last night and walked 1.

Be constructive and give your feedback! This is how we get to where we need to be, happy testing everyone!

Small sample size, but I agree that even with cpu hitting @ 6/6, I feel like I coast one too many innings, have low pitch counts and can pound the zone at will (even with ball marker off).

User control at 4 MIGHT be the answer, but time will tell.

Apologies if this has been discussed already, playing catch up on this thread.

Are you all seeing terrible CPU baserunning logic? Mostly in situations on catchers blocking a ball in the dirt or stretching a single into a double? I know this has been an issue in previous years

Few more observations from Beta 3 test:

Base runner speed is good but stealing is now to difficult. Not sure if we need to boost steal ability up 1 or what but 5x I attempted with my 85speed 73steal player and was thrown out by a mile.

Pitching is too easy in the sense of not giving up walks but the hits the CPU are getting are decent. They still struggle to get them over the plate. Suggestion is to drop HUMAN control by 1 but on that setting, it was hard to be accurate when necessary.

Hitting also may be too easy on the current set. Not sure what to do here, in 10 games I only had one game with less than 7 hits, and less than 4 runs. Perhaps not a large enough sample size but the opponents were all top 15 MLB teams and I’m playing as Oakland (who are pretty bad in game). Power feels good, you can dig out a few HR’s from unlikely spots but hitting doubles is too easy.

Infield error and outfield error is fine. Had a few bobbled grounders and a few miss throws from 3rd to 1st (hello Alex Bohm lol).

Things are close and I know it can be down to individual skill but these are just my thoughts.

If hitting is too easy, most of the time it isn’t the sliders. If you haven’t already, try increasing pitch speed to 6/6. That’s what I did as I was pulling too many 95+ fastballs with ease at 5/5. Keeping with Armour’s sliders and going to 6/6 has certainly made hitting a very fair challenge - for me

I play on 9/9 pitch speed unfortunately.

For what it's worth, I have always thought that, if I'm raking the CPU more then I think I should be, I always check the teams season stats, and if I'm not leading the league in every relevant offensive stat, then the sliders are good right where they are at.
