What are the main differences between Ridin’s roster and SDS roster?



Worth starting my franchise over, or is it basically equipment changes and better minor league rosters (which I don’t really care about)

Like you said. Equipment updates and a lot of missing players added and touch
Ups on minor league faces etc.

I am over 60 games into my Year 1 Yankees franchise. No way in heck I am starting over.

The SDS roster on 22 is easily the best one they ever had out of the box. No fake players and I used the April 15 live update and added Greg Bird.

Keep franchising.

After several more games played I believe my “happy place” is V2, with the following adjustments (for me)

Pitch speed at 6/6
Human contact at 6
CPU contact 6

I don’t play with a complete clear screen as I have:

Pitch select display - On
Pitching ball marker - Classic on
API - On

Auto fielding and throwing - On

I assume this is why I need a few minor tweaks to Armour’s fantastic slider set - for clear screen users

Question about what you control on 30 team control. Lineups, 40 man (optional after set up) and do most of you control roster moves?

I’d like the CPU to think for themselves and I don’t like to micro manage them but they seem to always call up that 13th pitcher and put one in the LRP. I don’t like burning player options to put someone back in the minors … so, what do you guys do?

Armour, I’m ashamed and embarrassed to have not trusted your sliders, lol. After some games using the tweaks I made to contact (moving human/cpu to 6), I’m back to your v2 exactly as you have it - except have pitch speed to 6/6.

You are right - as always!!! Lead and I will follow! These are the correct sliders even for guys like me who don’t use clean screen

So, I’ve really thrown myself into these sliders and am loving them so much they actually inspired me to create a whole new franchise with a created team and stadium, the whole nine.

Thought you guys may be interested in seeing what I was able to put together thanks to the motivation of these sliders and looking forward to playing every dang game here!

I’m using another bullpen set up that seems to work extremely well, as well as allowing the CPU to have 13 total pitchers. It’s been tested by people smarter than me and in my games, it’s worked out great.

If anyone is interested -

LRP - 3 lowest rated relievers with less than 40 stamina.

MRP - Best relievers to worst in terms of rating (or however you see fit) with exception to the reliever with the most stamina, who will slot into the 3rd slot for MRP.

SU - None whatsoever.

CL - Closer

The issue with this is, I found that they will put them as a injury spot starter and also they will go multiple innings and have high era's because they pitch to many innings with no energy. Id go through some teams and look at the stat lines after you have a months worth of games in. Thats just what I observed using that method.

Not to throw this thread off the rails but I use that method. What seems better for me is using only 2 LRP spots and putting the best SU guy in the SU1 spot.

Spot checking around the league on May 1st (roughly 30 games played) and you see relievers with about 10-18 appearances. The eras seem okay so far for the guys that should have good ERA’s. You do see the LRP have about 25 IP in the 15 games.

It really is pick your poison. Either way it isn’t perfect but both work. Just depends on what you want to see. When they pitch against me they don’t leave them in for more than 2 IP. The Rays starter went 4 innings and they used 5 RP that game.

Before selecting your pitch, go to 'Substitution'. The substitution screen will show the pitcher's energy bar.

I was having this issue too until Armor showed me the right way to swipe bags.



Tee up the runner by pressing L2. Then hold down L1 and release it right When the pitcher starts his motion to the plate. Unfortunately, if pitcher throws over you are likely dead meat.



Still need to run on good counts and with guys who have good speed/steal ratings…..but this method has worked wonders for me.

Derek Hill's base running ability is in the 40's correct? I consider BRA much more significantly than speed with stealing. Keep at it, Dowie's method is exactly what I use and I have plenty of success swiping bags. It's definitely not automatic, nor should it be though.

Finally sat down to try out the new sliders and enjoyed the game that I played.

2-1 Win for the Braves over the Mets
Anderson vs Megill
Braves with 4 hits.. 2 homeruns 3BB 8 K's 1 error
Mets had 2 hits, 2 doubles 2BB 10 K's

For once, even though I only had 4 hits, I never had that feeling that my guys just could not hit that I have felt so many times before. There were several balls in play that I thought were going to be doubles or Triples in the gap but Nimmo tracked them down. The computer also manufactured a run with an opposite field double where the lead runner scored but the batter was gunned down at 3rd base on a perfect throw. Defense saved several hits on both sides. Fun and not frustrating is my biggest take away from this one. Hopefully that trend continues.
