Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
Oh I wouldn't call myself a fan, I'm from Cleveland but hate using my home team/favorite teams for franchise mode. I really liked the looks of the Tigers going into the season and have actually starting following them more in real life...it's a shame because on paper they look like they should be more competitive than this (both in game and real life). But, it's baseball.
I’m sticking it out, trying to prove to myself that good game management is enough to keep them at .500. Currently 32-35. Very streaky lately, L6, W4, L4 is my last 14. I have no clue if I’ll finish 20 over .500 or 20 under .500. It’s absolutely riveting.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

I'm still loving these same sliders after that last patch. I've been playing a bunch and haven't noticed anything worth changing. One thing I want to point out is the switch from 6 to 7 with contact. It's been huge. I know it's not directed for one player but I think it's made a huge difference with high contact, higher average hitters. At least that's been my experience with Luis Arraez. On 6, Arraez was worthless. The man hits (taking power out of the equation) and has as good an eye as anyone in baseball so it sucked not being able to mimic that in the game. His power ratings were just too low to be effective on 6. He either grounded out or got a seeing eye base hit. Now that I've played a ton I know it's not placebo because I'm consistently getting a ton of variety with him and putting up numbers close to what he has in real life. It's honestly awesome using him now. His stance, swing, and everything in the game makes me feel like I'm actually watching him on TV. Those hard hit curling liners to CF are a thing of beauty. I'm playing him almost every day by giving days off to guys in the IF, but I'm damn near about to trade Sano and just put Arraez at 1B full time. Arraez is my favorite hitter to watch fwiw.Last edited by bwiggy33; 06-02-2022, 03:22 PM.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Oh my god, I'm now 22 games under .500 and questioning my decision to start a franchise with the Tigers. Although I will say, a lot of this is because I suck at the game lol. It's so tempting to start a new franchise with a loaded team like the Dodgers just to see how much of the struggles are because of me and how much are due to playing as Detroit.

I said “oh noooo” out loud when I read that first sentence bro lololol.
Lost my game (CWS) last night, now seven straight. As baseball involves a lot of superstition I won’t say anything else about that. However, have a reminder that there’s plenty of performance-based boosts in this mode, so poor performance does indeed lead to more poor performance.
As for restarting, I can’t play with a team that I don’t have a real-life rooting interest in, so I have no opinion on that. I do hold the opinion that starting over sucks. It would be infinitely more rewarding to see the season all the way through imo but that’s just me. If you consider the season truly lost maybe skip to next spring training but i don’t really recommend that either.
Have fun and good luck. Embrace the grind!Just one man’s opinion.

Lol it gets worse, I was no hit by Chris Sale this morning. Which is the second time I’ve been no hit this season, the first was by Lucas Giolito. This was following a game where I lost Victor Reyes to an injury, only to have his sub, Willi Castro, go down a few innings later. So I decided to call up Riley Greene to make things interesting. He almost looped a homer around Pesky’s Pole in the bottom of the ninth to break up the no-no but it went just foul.
I’m going to grind it out, Spencer Torkelson was injured early on and will hopefully be back in a month or so and I drafted an 18 year old lefty who is already a 70 rating with high potential so that could add to an already intriguing team.
I totally get what you mean about playing with your favorite team, I used to always play as the Indians (can I say that?) but then I would constantly compare them to how they were doing in real life. So I went to the dark side this time.

How’s this game playing for you guys? I’ve been thinking about picking it up and was just wondering how franchise is playing. Was playing 20 pretty heavily but due to some circumstances I lost the save file I had.Come on down and see the idiot right hereComment

It's playing great with these sliders. I'm 32-40 with my Cubbies, having a blast. I say buy it ASAP.Comment

I have found that good pitches hit spots better than average or below average pitchers (as one would expect), so it has worked for me thus far.

Hi Armour. Maybe you can’t answer this as I know all of your testing is done through your clean screen approach.
I currently am using v2 as I always use your slider set.
But here is my question. I don’t use clean screen - I have pitching ball maker at classic on and pitch select display on.
Do you think your v2 set would work equally as well with my set up? Am I giving myself some sort of advantage? If so, which slider adjustments would you recommend?
Maybe it’s all in my head, but there are games when I think it seems too easy and maybe I’m “cheating” somehow. Just beat Verlander and the Astros 7-0. Out hit them 9-3 and all 3 hits were singles. My Phillies got 9 hits including 2 doubles and 2 homers. Both teams struck out 10 times.
I moved pitch speeds up to 7/7, which is more challenging for me and increased my strikeouts, reduced my hits per game, and I really have to be geared up to pull a 95+ heater.
I’ve tried pushing human contact down to 6, but that reduces my hits per game to 5-6
I’m torn between human contact at 7 with pitch speeds at 7/7 and human contact at 6 and lowering pitch speed to either 5/5 or 6/6.
I would appreciate your thoughts.

First thing I would highly suggest if you want a real challenge is turn off he ball marker and no vibration (if you are already doing no vibration great).
Play 10 games like that. Report back. There are zero slider adjustments I would be making. V2 is locked in.Now Playing on PS5:

Does it matter which pitching view is used as far as turning off ball marker? I tell ya I have a real hard time pitching with ball marker off and using fish eye 2, which I like using because I can see the stadiums.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Pitching from the Broadcast view is something I encourage everyone to be doing. It is one of the cornerstones of the way I play and approach the game.
If however you want to pitch from a behind the plate view......I can’t really tell you what to do in terms of the ball marker being off. I simply do not play that way.Now Playing on PS5:

So......you do not pitch from the broadcast view? Brother you are missing out on some TV Network style like presentation!!!

I still have ball marker off, it still works just as well. I guess i just imagine that it's easier with ball marker turned off in various views.
Anyway, I'll give the broadcast another go again just to check it.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment
