In my humble opinion I do feel that both offences might need a little more ooomph this year. I don’t like to seemingly give me an advantage by increasing hitting sliders, and I want to be “fairly” challenged, but after playing several games neither side has experienced a big inning. Hard hit balls seem few and far between.

I look forward to the results of your testing.

All I need is your final slider set and Ridin’s roster so I can start my Yankees and Phillies franchises.

    Trying to be patient!!!!

Beta V3 feels awesome…..we should have a locked in and final set in a few weeks to coincide with Ridin and Showtymes release of their V1 Full Minors.

      FYI…

Sonny Gray (me)……using exact Beta 3 sliders

Has a 77 stam rating. He just ran out of gas at 117 pitches….that is way too many pitches for that stamina attribute IMO

Will keep an eye on this stamina setting @6.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide

4-3 in the first 7 games of my Blue Jays franchise. Managed to sweep the Os but scored a ton of runs and home runs. They also scored a lot on me as I am very new to classic pitching after swapping from meter after many years.

My second series against Tampa I lost 2-1. Got hammered in the first two games and couldn’t get a hit. The third game I won 4-0 after a 9 inning shutout from Berrios. He went 5.0 5-4-4-2-6 in his first start.

Overall I’m happy with the variety. I’m scoring a lot sometimes and not much other games. Home runs are high for me and CPU so I think I’ll refrain from upping the contact / power sliders to 6 and keep them at 5 for now until I get a better grip on classic pitching.

I think I’ll be leaving errors alone. Bichette has 3 already in 7 games. Also, last game in game 1 against Texas I was up 3-1 in the 7th. Semien walked. Seager singled to the OF. Gurriel air mailed a throw into cut off which went behind 1. Both runners advanced. Vlad picked it up and went home to prevent them from advancing and air mailed it to the dugout. Both runners scored. Went ahead 5-3 in the 8th and Romano gave up a two run homer in the 9th. Texas won in the 10th. Probably the most annoying game I’ve played haha!

So I’ll try the other adjustments but will likely not change contact / power or errors at the moment. Thanks again armour for the amazing slider set and for getting me into classic pitching.

You’re on button throwing, with no meter?

I am in the NLCS - total games played is around 25. I think it's because of my pitchers honestly...but I'm about to sweep the Giants in the NLCS so just looking for a little bit more difficulty.

Just as a heads up, these sliders are designed to play all 162. At the very least 100-120 games minimum.

I'm going to test this beta set when I get home from work. I've been rolling with default HOF but the offense definitely needs a boost. If CPU contact and power at 6 doesn't do it for me then I may try bumping my pitching difficulty to default legend. Just curious, has anyone reading this thread tried classic pitching on legend difficulty? If so, how is it?

Yup, auto fielding button throwing with meter. Didn’t see any errors in around 5 ST games but so far to start this season it’s been a nightmare. Hope it evens itself out or I’ll have to turn down errors haha!

You gotta get rid of the throwing meter. Let the ratings dictate it. Not you. That is what we design the sliders for. I can’t vouch for any meters or aides.

                    Pure clean screen/no visual aides/no meters/no vibration/no ball marker

If you have not tried the exact way I play and approach the Show......you really owe it to yourself to give it 25-30 games.

It is on another level of simulation.

As far as Legend pitching on classic.......good luck. That is all I will say. Just really....good luck. LOL!!! It is incredibly hard. Same for hitting directional/timed on Legend.

HOF is the sweet spot for me personally. Some like All-Star or All-Star plus (using dynamic difficulty).

I had a gradual progression with the difficulty settings:

                    2009 thru 2012 - Hybrid All Star Pitching/Veteran hitting

                    2013 thru 2016 - All-Star

2017 to the present - HOF

I tried Legend and found it to not be as true to the ratings anymore and using the control schemes we use (classic/directional) it was a mess in terms of leaving way too many pitches out over the plate and have almost zero room for error with the bat....just unmerciful.

Anyway....I am really loving how Beta V3 is feeling thus far. More games will be streamed later today and tonight!

Eagerly awaiting Ridin and Showtyme’s updated Full Minors and then my boy Philly The 13th on Bacons Discord is going to ramp up the authentication with full top to bottom equipment edits. Once that roster drops we will post on the OP which roster we are using for our official 2022 NY Yankees franchise on MLB 22.

And once we start it.....we never look back.

Sorry I mis-typed! No throwing meter. Auto fielding and let the ratings determine. My bad. I’ve been doing it that way since reading your posts back in 2020

My bad armour. Feel bad for wasting you time as you had quite a lengthy reply. I play clean screen just like the OP. No meters or aids. Let the rankings determine the outcome.

I’ll give it a month if games and report back about the errors. Might just be an abnormality in a short sample size.

I NEED to follow the ball from the hand or else I have no sense of where the ball is going and my timing is ruined.

I am like you, waiting for it to hit the plate is far too late for me personally. Perhaps on a slower pitch speed it could work better that way but not where I’m at currently.

anyone think cpu pitch consistency might need to be bumped up? My team is getting hit by 2-3 pitches per game. Granted, I've only played 10 games, but it's been significant enough for me to take notice so early on

It does, if not getting hit by the pitch, the cpu throws tons of wild pitches so my runners can advance
